Exactly!!....Whatever Kate has supposedly "done" to Kevin, it doesn't even compare to the hateful way he is trying to publically humiliate and disgrace her. Even if they privatly can't stand her...don't try and turn the whole USA against your sis...wrong on so many levels....I'll bet that Jodi is the drving force in this vendetta...she likes to think of herself as the perfect little "homemaker"...she knows how to really hurt a mother...put down her mothering skills to the whole world just when kate is at her lowest!

I don't doubt that there are marital problems. Just having that many kids, and a husband that would rather not work (assumed on my part, totally. Maybe wrong, but I've thought that since the begining. And I also don't think he would be yelled at so much, if he would just listen LOL..he would drive me nuts, he just seems to be in la-la land a lot of the time) but doesn't seem to want to be a sahd either, has to be telling on a marriage.
But I'm talking about all of it making the news. I think once it started to hit, that Kevin and Jodi were approached, and most likely paid a nice sum and seized the chance, which just made it worse (OKay Jodi, which is is. Jon came to you 6 months ago, or you haven't seen either of them in a year?). I doubt even TLC could have foreseen how this would play out.

I also believe, if I remember it right, Kevin saved his butt..he said Jon said he thought Kate was cheating. Heck, Kevin was just repeating what he said he was told, so he wasn't actually the one portraying his sister as a cheat. No, he was portraying her as a lousy cook and a bad housekeeper LOL!

There no way this a publicity stunt. How would that explain Kevin and Jodi getting involved?.....To be honest if there no revelations from Kevin and Jodi then I might think it was all just media hype...but They've confirmed to me that there are indeed marital problems....even affairs on both sides...(i really hate to think Kevin would portray his sis as a cheater unless it was true..which is bad enough)

I don't think Kevin and Jodi want to promote season 5...or give Jon and kate more ways to cash in...they have an agenda...but its not that.

I think part of the problem with Jon is open mouth insert foot. He always gives too much information and that must bug the heck out of Kate. The photos with Kate in the airport with the mini skirt and high heels make her look like a hooker. The mother of 8 children who is nurturing them, cooking for them, cleaning for them, etc.....pimping them out or herself??? I don't think TLC is responsible for all these problems just to boost the ratings. Greed on the part of Jon & Kate did it. Remember the episode with the garage sale--do you think anything like that will happen again?? Please buy my childs old toy and I'll autograph it for you while my bodyguard watches over me. I have seen Katie Holmes with Suri have more freedom than Kate and her "bodyguard".
Nobody forced them to open their home to cameras. Remember nothing was ever enough--house was too small, needed bigger van, need matching name brand clothes and toys. What's next??

seriously? a hooker? I saw that picture also and I didn't get that at all. Thanks to my former job working around the corner from the (former)combat zone in Boston, I've seen plenty of hookers and none of them looked as good as Kate

I liked her outfit...I don't get what that has to do with the issues of her family

I think if Kate had another garage sale where everything went to Children with Cancer Research, she would prob make a lot more money for them, since she is better known. One of the stories when they moved said that they gave away a lot of their stuff to other's that needed it, so I doubt there would be a garage sale anytime soon.

I do remember when the small van wasn't big enough and I remember when they bought the bigger house. They sure did get matching clothes, I believe someone said they were placements. Better she should have gone to the mission for clothes and said no to Gymboree for free clothes? I don't get your point.

This stuff is most likely true as it is documented from years ago before they become so popular.

The old house was just a few doors from Jodi. The Gosselins moved there to be close to them.

I would certainly hope not!! No one wants to see that happen.. There's no doubt that Jon & Kate love their children - they just can't see the forest for the trees..

Let Jon and Kate implode, but I just hate what it will do to their kids.

As much as I would like to see them work things out (and be one big happy family with mommy and daddy living happily in the same home), if they don't, my only concern is the kids.. Jon & Kate are adults - they can take care of themselves..

J&K really need to get their heads out of their butts and work this mess out together, not running to People Magazine or Kevin & Jodi instead.



I still think the show should be pulled so that 1. J&K can figure their marriage out and 2. the kids can have a more normal childhood instead of dealing with cameras and paparazzi. Money isn't everything and fame and fortune seem to come at a high price in my opinion.

I can't help but have this nagging feeling that all of this is made up by Jon and Kate to promote themselves, to draw attention to the 5th season, to earn more money for the new book or movie deal..

If that turns out to be the case, my opinion of them will sink even lower..

If this is all just a publicity stunt, then I think that makes their actions even worse somehow. It isn't just J & K who have been affected, it's six young children who are living with the consequences of all of the publicity over the last few months.

Whether their problems are real or just rumor, they should be putting their kids first. It's obvious the show has been a cash cow for the family. I think its time to step aside and focus on their children's emotional well being which is just as important as their physical well being.

I think the biggest problem I have with Kate is that it appears she is forgetting about what is in her children's best interest all for the sake of the spotlight. At this point, they should be well beyond the point where they are doing the show to "support" the family. That goal should have already been accomplished. Now it is more about Kate's ego and her getting any and all the attention that she can. Without the kids, there would be no show, books, or media attention. I just wish she would stop using her children to attain celebrity status and get rich. They are the ones who are truly suffering right now!!

Jon & Kate still have the option of putting a stop to all of this - if they choose to..

I plan on continuing to watch the show (walking away when it gets too noisy for me LOL) and for those who think this is ruining the kids for lives, the best way to stop it, is for those people to stop watching. If enough don't watch, it will die.

I see there is nothing new - directly from Jon & Kate.. Hopefully they have learned to zip their lips.. Obvioulsy that won't stop the rag sheets from printing whatever they want, but those stories carry no validity whatsoever, so at least when the kids are a little older (and not much older for Mady & Cara) they won't be have to say, "But Mommy (Daddy), you said ..blah, blah, blah on television, in your books, etc.. Why did you say that?"

Isn't Mojo from Channel 95.5? The average listener from that station isn't exactly the type to be watching Jon and Kate. They are mostly teens and young adults. They are much more the MTV crowd rather than the TLC crowd. I don't see Mojo saying something like that unless it were true because, frankly, most of his listeners probably don't care what Jon and Kate do. Why would he even bring them up if he hadn't really witnessed it?

Here's what I predict will happen on the Season Opener. Jon and Kate and Kevin and Jodi will all be standing there with the kids and their first line to their viewing audience will be...."Gotcha". Then we're all going to stand back and look at how we got sucked into a reality show that spilled over into our daily lives. I think that about now we should unplug all electronics and go back to reading books and playing board games.

I'm curious...are you doing the same for all the umpteen other shows that feature large families(Table for 12, 18 and Counting, etc)? Wouldn't those parents be doing a disservice to their children as well?

Put yourself in Kevin and Jodi's shoes. Jon and Kate move down the street from you "to be close" Which from what I saw on the show meant so Jodi can watch my kids and me never help you out at all. From all the reports Kate isn't will liked in the community. People find out your related they either 1) hate you because of your association or 2) feel the need to come and tell you everything that is wrong with your sister and her family or 3) Try and befriend you to get the dirt. I'm sure that when the "dew" hit the fan that they were hounded unmercifully for "their take" on the situation. Maybe I feel for them because I was put in a similar situation and it was Hell.

So what will you tell them has transpired? What do you know that has transpired? That John is home with his children whle his wife is out working? That when he goes at night, and when the rag mags take pictures of him with another woman, the children are safe at home with a nanny? That Kate is out on a book tour and the paparazzi took her picture with her guard right behind her, and it looks like she is having an affair, and she dresses badly, and her haircut has too much attitude? Or that Kate's relatives who used to be on the show and stopped when they weren't getting paid enough (because $3300 for lights in their house is being paid) have now gone on radar and spoke about how bad it is for the kids, that Kate doesn't really cook all she says she does and someone else cleans the house, and Kate supposedly has a contract with her husband that he can have girlfriends? Oh, and they argue when off camera. We know that for a fact (not). Of course no one else argues around their children.
Or, that they had a birthday party in the park, and photo's were taken through the bushes with a high powered lense, oh, and the people invited had to pay, and the money was given to charity?

Yeah, that will make the sponsors pull right out.

I can tell from watching the show that these kids are really mistreated, Yep, I can tell they are not enjoying doing all of these special things, and it would be better for the 10 of them to move back into the small house, and sell the van, and have mom and dad be gone each and every day working full time. Prob even over time to feed this batch of kids. Oh, and argue even more, like some people do, over the lack of money. Yeah, that makes sense LOL.

I am certainly watching a different show, because that isn't what I see. I see a lot different in the rag mags about the parents (but have no way of knowing what is true and what isn't)..but even those mags don't say the kids are mistreated.

Obviously you haven't been watching the news or entertainment shows. The "New Kate" is the talk of the town. When the show first aired, you never saw her in anything close to that kind of outfit. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and their is such a thing as dressing age appropriate. There actually is a guide that tells you at what age mini skirts are not practical, etc......What does this have to do with her family--just one more reason TLC should take this show off the air!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and their is such a thing as dressing age appropriate. There actually is a guide that tells you at what age mini skirts are not practical, etc......What does this have to do with her family--just one more reason TLC should take this show off the air!

The comment made about it on one of the talk shows was that she looked more like a hooker than someone going to speak at a church about how much she loves her kids and would do anything for them. I know there have been many comments about her fake tan and hair, but I have to agree that this outfit looked trashy on her. I don't dislike the outfit, its the person wearing it that I question!!

Omg! The woman tans, that maybe a whole 30 minutes! And the offit she was wearing is fine. It is not my taste but she does not look like a hooker. It is a short skirt. I am wearing shorts right now, does that mean I don't love my kids because you can see my legs. Give me a break.

It has gotten to the point that people and the media are just searching for something to bash this women about. I am not a Kate supporter, I actually have to turn the channel sometimes because I can't stand the way she talks to her husband but guess what he is a big boy and can stand up for himself. Anybody who lets another person talk to them like that does not have a backbone.

The kids are fine. People are talking about a photo or a kid crying as that meaning that the poor kid is being mistreated. Well I hope that is not true because then I am sure that the authorities will show up at all of our houses that have kids.

Some of us thought it looked like someone would look when traveling, although I usually look a lot sloppier. Which talk show said she looked like a hooker? You mean like the View, or Oprah? Someone there said she looked like a hooker?

I would have no problem with her wearing that outfit to my church (although the pics I've seen of her speaking and at book signings, she usually dresses very conservatively so it's a moot point), and we are very conservative. It's not like it showed her undies. I do have shoes similar to those, and I wear those to church. The picture was in an airport, not a sanctuary.

I really know very little about her personal life (just what we see on TV) and until I do, I can't judge what she says in a church at a speaking engagement. So, if she wears a shorter denim skirt, a blouse that covers her and a red jacket that doesn't match her pink blouse, she shouldn't talk in a church about how much she loves her her kids and maybe she really wouldn't do anything for them? I'm trying to make the conection between her clothes and the love for her kids.

actually I have been watching the news/entertainment shows/internet reports on all this. I don't think her outift is distasteful. Definitely not the same as her style at the begining of the series, but her style has changed since then. It's called keeping up with current fashion. I've done it myself. I cringe when I look back at what I used to wear when my kids were younger. Now that they are older and I don't have to be as hands on with them (diapers etc) I choose to wear trendier outfits. Doesn't mean I'm a bad mother

I haven't seen these parents on the front of tabloid magazines; haven't seen them publicly discuss their marital situations; and the majority of the children on the other shows you have mentioned are old enough to speak for themsleves.. Not so with the 8 Gosselin children - although it won't be long until Mady & Cara can (if their parents choose to listen to them)..

I'm not thrilled with any of the shows that use their children as an avenue to fame and fortune - but as of yet, their lives haven't taken the same turn as the Gosselins - if in fact that "is" their reason for having a show.. When and if it takes the same turn, yes - I would do the same thing..

My stand may not be popular with some, but that's the great thing about living in America.. I can choose to voice my opinion about "Jon & Kate Plus 8", just as the next person can choose to voice their opinion about a show with too much sexual content; too much graphic violence; or whatever..

Will it make any difference? Maybe - maybe not.. Other shows have been cancelled in the past; some have returned at the viewers request; and some have simply been moved to different (more appropriate) time slots.. Sponsors tend to listen to what their viewers have to say - it's "their" bread and butter as well.. If enough people voice their displeasure (similar to complaints that have been made to Disney in the past - that resulted in changes being made) at the very least, they may be forced to take a look at what is best for their bottom line.. I really don't think they give a hoot what impact it may or may not have on Jon & Kate - everyone is looking out for their own best interests - meaning $$$$$$$$$$..

As another poster pointed out here: "The squeaky wheel gets the grease.."
