Jpaxton, I agree with you from start to finish. When the Gosselins initially did their TLC program, most of TLC's stuff was really tame -- A Wedding Story, A Baby Story -- sweet stuff that would never land you on the cover of US and People magazine!!! I'm sure they went into this thinking it would be a sweet little TLC endeavor. Just a little money on the side.

But these people need to know when to say "enough is enough." I really do feel like this is negatively impacting the kids. When you're on the cover of People magazine, and your husband and his alleged mistress are on the cover of US magazine -- and your entire family, kids and all, are being dragged through the mud -- things have gotten waaaaaay out of hand.

If I were the Gosselin parents, I would have pulled the show the first time I saw an "I Hate Mady" website -- or how about the Mady Gosselin is a b--ch site on Facebook? As a mom, I would have said we are DONE. I can't imagine putting my children out there like that for criticism and abuse. Money ain't worth it.

Oh my goodness! Is there really all that stuff about Mady out there!!! I know the child can act like a brat at times but show me a kid who doesn't. That is horrible and whoever started those websites should really be ashamed!

But, come on, do you really think those people who say they hate Kate really do???

I have been thinking a lot about this and my first instinct was to say how horrible they are and how could they put their kids on tv and all that negative stuff, but to be honest, it I had 8 kids and 6 of them were all babies and someone wanted to pay us some money to show our story, I would have done it too. There is no way as a nurse and an IT person they would have been able to afford to take care of those kids on their own. I know it is hard to pay for our vacations and we have to save up a while and we only have 3 kids, so I can understand them wanting to give their kids more then they would have been able too.

Now with that being said, I do think that it has gotten out of hand and it has turned into a circus. They need to remember why they started this and they need to remember that it can all be taken away from them.

That is possibly the most thought out and refreshing post on this thread in a long time. A lot of people just like to see their words in print, I guess, and they don't think before they type. Way to go!

I know, it's insane. There is a Facebook site for people who hate her. She was listed on New York Post's Top 10 Useless Characters list. (She was number ten.)

Unfortunately when you turn your child into a "character" on a TV show, it opens her up to getting reviewed -- both positively and negatively.

After seeing those party pics, I think they need to get the camera crews out of their kids' faces!!! What a madhouse around those kids with all of the cameramen & crew. Did you see that wide-view pic with the little group of kids in the middle surrounded by all the cameramen & equipment? No wonder these kids have meltdowns all the time. This is just not normal..

I was surprised to see how tall the older twins had gotten (in the still photos), but not surprised to see how absolutely miserable they looked.. No - they don't have a "clue" that their world is crumbling around them.. My foot!!

What exactly is it going to take for these "parents" to wake up and realize what they are doing to these poor kids - all for the sake of money and fame??

Yes - I'm angry - but no, I don't "hate" them.. I hate what they're doing to 8 little kids who aren't old enough to stand up for themselves and say, "We don't want to do this anymore.. We want mommy and daddy to be happy again.. We don't want to see mommy and daddy on the cover of rag sheets and magazines.. We don't want to hear people whispering about them.. We don't want to have to answer the other kids questions in school.. We just want to be kids.."

It's not like Kate forgot to take the pill that month. She and Jon consciously started fertility treatments again to get pregnant. We also know that Jon doesn't have a great job resume, he's lost jobs or been unemployed throughout their marriage. I understand the desire for more children, I'd love to have more but I have medical issues that make it risky to do so therefore I'm happy with the 3 I have. I know lots of large families and they work very hard for all that they have. Really, do any of us believe that J&K still are doing the show because they didn't want to miss out on recording their kids' lives? Not buying that, not at all. It may have started that way but I don't believe it's so now.

I think every parent wants to give their kids the best they can. But I think for J&K they've sold out their kids, marriage and privacy for it. So what if they can't go on an expensive vacation every year. Does that mean their kids will be scarred? It's just plain sad the sextuplets had to have their b-day televised. Why can't they just have some of their little preschool friends over and have a cake or something? This is my opinion on the matter.

Just for the record, if it were just the J&K show I could care less what they do. My objection is that their kids are involved. Flame away.

I just re-read the EW article. So Kate hates public life, but she loves doing public speaking, doing book signings, traveling to do national interviews and wants her own talk show. Hmmm...sounds like public life.

After seeing those pictures on JustJared with the camera, sound, and other guys I cannot imagine all of those people in their old house. If I were them, I would feel like the walls were closing in, even outside.

In the one picture it looks like Kate is making fun of Cara melting down. So sad.

One of the problems with reality tv, to me, is that people forget that these people are real people and not characters. I've guilty of doing it too, but it seems like after a while these people begin to play into their "character" and forget who they really are in "real" life. A good example is Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.

Obviously, I agree..

There are other sextuplets in the U.S. - they don't have t.v. shows to make ends meet.. Do they live the lives that Jon & Kate do? Of course not.. Do Mady & Cara look "happier" than other kids from large families? No - they look miserable - and Mady in particular often acts that way on the show..

This show is going into it's 5th season.. Plenty of money has been made.. Many freebies have been received.. If their number one priorty is their kids (which they continually say) then they didn't squander all of that money away and could pull the plug on that show right now.. It's been said over and over again that Kate will continue to generate money from her books and she can even continue her speaking engagements - if she must.. Just keep the kids out of it! Unfortunately though, the "kids" are the "gravy train" - so - as I said before, the decision has been made that "the show must go on.."

I'm amazed how many people are pre-occupied with this family.

I don't like Kate, I feel any woman that uses their family as a commodity is setting their family up for failure. These kids have had some great life experiences because of the exposure but when all is said & done their life scrap books will hold tear sheets from magazines & video tape exposing affairs from both parents~

That's definitely reaching on Kate's part. Yep, the fans made them the success they are, but I doubt Kate really feels she owes them. Just looking for a quote or sound bite.

maybe? I don't know. Kate has made no secret of the fact that she wants to continue what she's doing. That it's part of Kate's speech that she has received probably a million emails by now telling her how she's inspired people and how can they say no to doing the show? I don't know, I wonder if Kate really thinks she can justify continuing the show for the fans.

I agree with what you say. No flaming from me. I think we all can look at this differently but we all come to the same conclusion, the show needs to stop.
I was just saying that I might have done the same thing in the beginning. I know I personnally would have been scared to death to have that many kids and wonder how we would support them. Not talking about vacations but food and diapers.

Because if they have it at their house then how will the paparazzi get their picture?

In all seriousness I think it has to do with the fact that TLC/J&K don't want to show how big the house really is and that they have a pool. I could be wrong, but they have only done tight shots of the house thus far and no talk of the pool.

I got the impresssion that the kids' party was at the house. I just assumed it was in the yard. Where did it say they were at a park? I guess I missed something.

The house does have a pool. I don't think they have showed it on the show, but when the real estate listing was floating around there was definately a pool.

I just checked TLC.com, and they're showing the one-hour episode on Monday night, and that looks like the only new episode scheduled? The rest look like reruns.
