I just read where someone said the bodyguard looks like Mr. Peterman from Seinfeld. I think that he really does! :)

:lmao: I love the episode where Elaine eats that really old cake Mr. Peterman had bought at an auction! :lmao:

to all those hoping that Jon and Kate will consider taking the show off the air and giving the children some privacy? not happening any time soon ...

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20278901,00.html

The last paragraph:
The tabloid coverage may only increase interest in the Gosselins and their series, but that’s not why Kate thinks fans continue to watch. ”People want to see our kids grow up. At this point I almost feel like I owe it to them. They’ve seen [our children] since they were 15 months old. And so to stop now would be like ‘What ever happened to them?

:sad2:

Tried to copy something that didn't work....story of my life! :)

 I'm in the same boat!

Have you read the GWOP site? Yes I really do think those people Hate her.

Yes, they have a pool at their new house....

Really, do you think they actually "hate" her? I think disapproving of what someone does and hate are 2 very different things. :confused3

This is the part that got me:

Nobody was banging on the family's door before TLC came around. If so, the frantic and overmatched couple would have welcomed the help.

Kate has said that they had between 15-20 people A DAY helping them when the 6 were small and that continued well into their 2nd year.

Yup, she said that they had tons of volunteers coming to help and she was hesitant to let them as most were strangers. We've seen lots of the helpers on the show too...Nana Janet folding endless baskets of laundry, Carla the babysitter, Beth the ever enduring friend, Jenny and so on.

She "owes" the fans?? How about what she owes her children?? A shot at a normal, private life - without their parents photos appearing all over rag sheets, magazines, etc.. I think she needs to get her priorities straight..:sad2:

Totally agree. I really wish she'd just do a yearly update with the kids then those who want to see how much they've grown will be able to. :thumbsup2

So I guess the rumors that they are going to Korea are true. Wow, that should be interesting.

Where did you read that? Is it all of them going?

Where did you read that? Is it all of them going?

On one of the blogs. I tried to find it just now, but the blogs are going crazy, so I don't have "proof". I think I could look all night and not find it. Take it with a grain of salt. I *do* remember Kate saying she would like to recreate Jon's trip though.

Here's a recap of the episode where Jon mentioned it:

http://www.lilsugar.com/1717192

Kate talking about it at a speaking engagement:

"One lady in the audience told Kate that she was half Korean and asked how the Gosselin's incorporated the culture into their lives and Kate said "Stay tuned for Season 5!" So there must be some things shown about their Korean heritage we have not seen yet!! One lady asked her how she kept her "adorable figure", and Kate could not hear the first two times but on the third time she heard it and she laughed and said, " I just wanted her to say it three times!" Haha, everyone laughed. She is just so personable and I enjoyed hearing her answer the questions. She was also asked if she would go back to nursing after the babies went to Kindergarten and she said, " What I do now is much more fun than being a nurse so I will continue doing what I do". Oh and someone asked her where she goes to shop and she said.." Oh they are going to love me for this (haha), but I go to every Ann Taylor Loft store in the country I can find!"

She has said on the show and in interviews that she would like to recreate a trip that Jon took when he was 19. Jon has said in interviews that he went backpacking through Europe and Korea when he was 19. So, pretty much connected the dots on that one.

Where are you going in MI? We may be taking a trip to Traverse City when it finally warms up there. :)

Thanks for the info! I'd remembered reading it that they'd talked about taking the trip to Korea.

DH's cousin is getting married 8/1 so we're leaving SC on 7/26 and driving straight through and should be there Monday morning to spend the week in Saginaw. Then the wedding's on Saturday and we're getting up as early as possible to drive straight back so I can be back for work Monday morning (it usually runs us about 18 hours with the two little ones! :scared1:) We moved from that area and that's where all of DH's family is. I went to high school near Traverse City and will probably be up there next summer for my 10 year high school reunion (gosh....saying that makes me feel old!). Traverse City is pretty - we have friends who have a cabin up there and spend a week up there every summer. We moved from mid-MI to 15 minutes from the ocean - can't say I'd change back for anything! :goodvibes Love the family and help we had but honestly, the weather and DH's and my job are too awesome to give up.

Glad I'm not alone! :goodvibes

I'd be leary about helpers as well! There are just too many weird people that you hear about these days. And finding people that "fit" with you is not an easy task either. I would think I probably would have turned away some of the volunteers (that I didn't know) or given them jobs they probably would not have enjoyed, meaning they probably wouldn't keep coming back to shovel my driveway or something weird like that. I honestly don't mean anything by that, but I think that some people are just not mean to be with kids and some were just there for the "fame". I was very weird about even interviewing people when we hired our nanny....we spoke to everyone on the phone first then invited them over so I could see how they interact with the kids. That (to me) gives you the best idea - trust your "mommy" instincts. :goodvibes I'm glad they were able to find some decent helper but sad to not see the kids interacting with others anymore. :sad2:

sad2:

Did you graduate with 11 people in your class?
My dd went to Northern Michigan in Marquette and her roomate was from Mayville MI---near the thumb:rotfl:
She graduated top of her class of 11.

I honestly would have a really hard time letting strangers into my home to care for my babies. I completely understand that. Mommy instincts are finely tuned when it comes to the safety of our kids. I'm very particular about who I leave my 3 girls with or who babysits them.

A little OT but I just watched the sneak peek for Kate's b-day episode...where was Jon?? The bus pulled up to the house and Kate said I wonder what that bus is for. Then she and the kids went to Charm City Cakes to make cakes for what I'm assuming is Kate's b-day. I was confused by Jon not being there at all (at least from what I saw) and also the kids making Kate 6 cakes all for her? Earlier in the clip she was saying that she always has to bake her own b-day cake so basically why should this year be any different. Then Cara came on and said they were surprising Kate by going to CCC to make her a cake. Anyone see this clip? :confused3

HA HA HA!! No I graduated with a very small class but not quite that small! :rotfl:

I'm the same with with my kiddos! :goodvibes

No I didn't see the "sneak peek"....that would be weird if Jon wasn't there. I kind of think last season they had the "excuse" that he wasn't around because he was helping his mom. I would think though that he foot (that's what she broke or hurt right??) would be healed by now. :confused3 I hope maybe he's already there waiting or something like that????

Ya, wasn't that excuse lame? Um, my Mom hurt her foot so I was there to help her. How many times during that episode did he mention that? More than one! Anyhoo, here's the sneak peek clip on youtube...

Long time lurker, and this is my favorite post!!

After seeing the party pictures I really hope that they can get back together and make this work. Those kids are so sweet and I have to think that they did really love each other at one point. I know I am a dreamer but I think that if they back away from the spotlight and focus on their family they can somehow get it back.

OMG, that does not look like fun.

Didn't it look like a circus or something? I thought it was strange when they showed them all in the middle filming while the guests (I assume parents of the kids) were looking on. How is that a b-day party? It's weird, I don't care how much you get paid for an episode. Give the kids a normal party where they don't have to be filmed! Poor Cara had a meltdown and how nice that it will on film for all to see. :sad1: I don't care what the fans "expect", these kids are human and need to have some privacy...you'd think that at least their b-day could've been. :sad2:

You know, I watched the J&K videos of when they were dating and then first married. It actually made me sad for them, they've changed so much from that time. Kate was hanging all over Jon and they were so darn happy to be together. I agree with the above poster too, I wish they could work it out because they did (at one point at least) genuinely love each other and their family is beautiful. I think they love their kids very much but have been blinded by the almighty dollar.

After seeing those party pics, I think they need to get the camera crews out of their kids' faces!!! What a madhouse around those kids with all of the cameramen & crew. Did you see that wide-view pic with the little group of kids in the middle surrounded by all the cameramen & equipment? No wonder these kids have meltdowns all the time. This is just not normal.

I also thought Kate looked like she was being her usual drama-queen self. I predict at least one Kate tantrum during the party.

ETA: 3prettyprincesses, I just saw your post....I agree totally.

Thanks for posting the youtube link and link to the birthday party pictures! :goodvibes I thought I read here (maybe 50 pages or so back! :rotfl: ) that they had two parties - one for "tv" and a "real" party with family/friends....any more info on that? I thought it was cute that they had Backyardigans pinatas - poor Pablo and Uniqua! I hope they at least got a good deal on the water park - everyone was in winter coats! :rotfl:

I have been thinking a lot about this and my first instinct was to say how horrible they are and how could they put their kids on tv and all that negative stuff, but to be honest, it I had 8 kids and 6 of them were all babies and someone wanted to pay us some money to show our story, I would have done it too. There is no way as a nurse and an IT person they would have been able to afford to take care of those kids on their own. I know it is hard to pay for our vacations and we have to save up a while and we only have 3 kids, so I can understand them wanting to give their kids more then they would have been able too.

Now with that being said, I do think that it has gotten out of hand and it has turned into a circus. They need to remember why they started this and they need to remember that it can all be taken away from them.

Jpaxton, I agree with you from start to finish. When the Gosselins initially did their TLC program, most of TLC's stuff was really tame -- A Wedding Story, A Baby Story -- sweet stuff that would never land you on the cover of US and People magazine!!! I'm sure they went into this thinking it would be a sweet little TLC endeavor. Just a little money on the side.

But these people need to know when to say "enough is enough." I really do feel like this is negatively impacting the kids. When you're on the cover of People magazine, and your husband and his alleged mistress are on the cover of US magazine -- and your entire family, kids and all, are being dragged through the mud -- things have gotten waaaaaay out of hand.

If I were the Gosselin parents, I would have pulled the show the first time I saw an "I Hate Mady" website -- or how about the Mady Gosselin is a b--ch site on Facebook? As a mom, I would have said we are DONE. I can't imagine putting my children out there like that for criticism and abuse. Money ain't worth it.
