I'm glad that coffee in the morning is keeping your marriage together. In order for my marriage to work however, the key is to not speak to me until I've been up for at least a half hour!
It is real life for some people. I knew a few mothers that slept in while their husbands took care of the kids in the morning.
I hate the "mother has to get up with the children" mentality. My ex husband had that...one of the many reasons why he is my ex.
Obviously the kids weren't screaming in their cribs or she wouldn't have been sleeping. I gave my DD18 a bottle in her bed in the morning way past the age she should have gotten a bottle, but it meant two extra hours of sleep for me, so I did it and she stayed in her crib while I slept.

My Ex thought the same thing too. I am now a single mother of three and I work outside the home full time too. I help get three girls ready in the morning and drop them off a three different schools and put in a full day of work then do the pick ups. My day starts at 5:15 am, so on Sat. the girls know they must stay in bed rest/read etc till 8 am before coming to get me. Lately it has been really easy since they have been more active/tired and recently we all slept until 9:30 am, wow! Saturdays are my only day to sleep in, as we go to church on Sundays, so I don't feel bad about it. I was not able to do this when I was married, either. We are going to a Luau tonight which will mean a late night, so I hope everyone will sleep in tomorrow!
BTW I saw Kate's pic on people magagzine and it looked like it was lying down and not that bad.
