That's not surprising. I didn't think she would actually go on there knowing the types of questions she would be asked concerning what's going on.

Kate: It's disturbing and unfortunate that these tabloids have gone as far as they have to try and bring us down. Jon's poor judgment and irresponsible behavior has also without a doubt caused some added tension and stress between the two of us.

I so love this quote by Kate. Talk about calling him out without actually doing it. She all but says "Listen oops - didn't filter so I will remove it, knock it off and stop being so selfish."

Okay, on a side note to the mods - I thought if I didn't change a curse word the filters would automatically filter for me. I don't like to type the astericks or anything else because I thought that wasn't the way. I had to go back and edit out 2 words.

I wonder if this EW interview was done before the release of the new pictures/story last night. It seems like it is only addressing the first article.

I think no statement by Kate was better than this.

I believe this was released before the US Weekly story by the brother.

Wow. It makes me wonder if he brother is so shady why is she still allowing him in the house. Why didn't she move out. Something stinks...

No kidding. He's shady and has a drug charge against him? AND he's 28?!? It doesn't make sense to me. Of course she's going to deny everything and discredit her brother (the source). Jon hasn't come clean yet so she can't say anything else BUT that she denies it. I wonder what Kate is doing right now? She must be berating Jon like there's no tomorrow! I hope Aunt Jodi or Beth came to take the kids during THAT discussion.

I can see her as the type of woman who doesn't really accept responsibility for any of HER actions that may be causing tension in the marriage.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Jon, but I just think she's also a big problem in the marriage, too.

You know, I find it believable that the brother is a deadbeat and is making some stuff up. That's really not a stretch. Something is going on with Deanna, but I have trouble believing Jon is so stupid as to be spending the night there. Truly the victims are the kids, I feel so sorry for them and how this new great life their parents wanted for them; sucks in reality. I know I would rather be poor and happy with parents that loved each other.

The brother may be a deadbeat, but the brother wasn't making Jon go out at 2 in the morning, or leave someone else house at 7:30 in the morning, or sit on his lawn while a girl is sunbathing on his lawn. Strike three, Jon you're OUT!!!

Here's my take: In order to "exonerate" Jon you would have to believe that:
1) The brother is completely lying.
2) The video that US Magazine shows is completely misrepresented.

I can easily believe that the brother is lying. Until there's a second source, I think it's best to minimize the statements for the reasons laid out by "the other woman". The brother appears to be a likely low-life and I'm sure money changed hands for the statements. Not exactly the sort of guy you'd want to put on the stand in court.

The video's a little harder to make go away. If in fact the guy in the video isn't who they say it is, and/or it wasn't taken at 7:30 AM during a long stakeout of the home, then US Magazine has placed a large legal "Kick me!" sign on it's back and better get its checkbook ready. However, I don't think they're that stupid and reckless. While it's premature to say that a physical affair is taking place, it seems safe to say that at the minimum an "emotional" one likely is. There's no good way to spin deciding to crash over at the house of a woman other than your wife, or deciding to spend the night away in the company of the same "just talking". Either way, it would appear that the marriage is in deep trouble.

I just don't see Us Weekly (or People, for that matter) running with something they don't believe is true and have the proof to back it up. With that said, this information is contradictory and it's all coming so fast and furious, I'm sure they're trying to scoop each other. Is anyone telling the truth?

When do they publicly address something? (and I don't mean one "exclusive" online interview) Not ever? This thing is crumbling all around them.

And PS. I don't think this is a publicity stunt. I never did, but that was kicked around. No way they planned this.

I do wonder if anything would really have been any different had they NOT done the show. This put additional strain on them, but I have my doubts it was that strong to start with. People have been calling Kate a banchee for years. The fame may have accellerated this but I suspect if they were just out of the public eye their marriage would have had a similar fate.
