Doesn't all of this KATE HATE take up a lot of energy? Have the haters ever heard of a remote? TURN THE CHANNEL and GET OVER IT!

Oh, no, she just didn't go there!

That's the way I am, usually I have all my party supplies a month ahead but then again, I'm a little bit of an over-planner!:lmao: Some people leave stuff like that to the last minute although Kate always struck me as someone super organized so it was a bit surprising to pick it all up the day of. Seriously, let's not be so hard on Kate. She was really busy and I'm sure she had a checklist to get done:

1. Tanning
2. Several speaking engagements to go to and books to sign
3. Tanning
4. People Magazine interview
5. Tanning
6. Shop at Target
7. Tanning
8. Go home to see the kids
9. Tanning
10. Pick up party stuff day of the party!
And somewhere in the middle of all that, I'm sure Jon got quite an earful!

:lmao:

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Wasn't the party city outing staged for filming of the show? They went there specifically to get footage (I thought). I don't really have a point with that other than it wasn't some spontaneous trip that poor Kate had to manage alone.

I disagree. What I said was that I wanted to see their REAL life as it is NOW and how the show has changed it. I'm tired of the scripted vacation shows and I am genuinely interested in seeing how they make their schedules work, who does what, how they coordinate things and I want them to stop making up stories and giving us half-truths. If there is a cook because Kate is on the road, then fine but show her/him if a meal is in the shot - what is the point in hiding their realities? If Kate feels unsafe taking the kids out alone because of the recent frenzy, and if they're going to tell us about shopping for the party on the show on Monday, then show us who went and what it was like. Telling people less parts of a story only leads to speculation. By now everyone knows 2 bodyguards accompanied her to shop for the kid's party. Will they be shown? I'm hoping they will be shown along with the crazies who have been following them around. I want to see the Gosselin 'reality show'. That's what's been advertised and talked about for years, but we've steadily gotten farther and farther from the 'real'.

Me, I'd much rather put it out there and tell it like it is, on a need to know basis. People are going to judge them anyway no matter what they do. If I was in their position I'd much rather know I told the truth and then laugh at the people who still misjudged and disbelieved me instead of hiding part of the real story. It's a difference in people's thought processes, decision making, and life choices. This world would be awfully boring if we were all alike and did everything the same. :goodvibes
It's only a half hour show(or is it an hour now, I don't know) I would think they only want to show things they think will be of interest to the audience because they have limited time on the show. The things that are being omitted are what I would call the minutiae...the mundane details that most people don't want to know. When you are telling a story, or talk about your day, you don't give every gory detail. Who wants to hear that? And since it is TLC that is doing the editing, it is possible that J&K are discussing those things and TLC is just cutting them out.

Honestly, I just find this whole Jon & Kate thing fascinating. Nobody in their wildest dreams could've predicted the amount of interest(good and bad) this show would produce. I mean, just the number of blogs alone that are dedicated to this show is staggering. I think it's crazy and I don't envy Jon & Kate their life.

You know there was a time way back on the first and second volumes of this thread, when some of us were fans of the show, and enjoyed watching the show and discussing the kids. But I know I feel betrayed by Kate and how she says one thing but acts another. Yes, this is a tv show. But when you are voluntarily in the public eye and saying you are doing this and your actions are very far from that, I take it that she is lieing to her viewers.

Although I wasn't involved in this thread right from the very beginning, I haven't seen anyone here state that they "hated" Kate.. Did I miss those posts?

Oh, I forgot...no one can read between the lines, everything must be taken literally. Doesn't all of this strongly disagreeing with Kate's actions and looking down from our pedestals take a lot of energy? Everyone who ALWAYS makes the best choices and knows what they would do in any and all situations including being faced with providing for 8 children and would never ever be the "horrible" mother Kate is, please turn your televisions to another show?

It's not like Kate is the only person we ever disagree with!

Let's try to stay friendly here.:goodvibes I've not read anything on here that makes me think, wow that poster hates Kate. We all have our opinions to share and I find it interesting to hear both sides of the coin. It keeps the thread balanced I think. :thumbsup2 Also, there's alot of talk about Jon and Jodi as well. It's not just Kate! ;)

Yep, most of us don't go out to get fertility treatments and then go against everything our doctors tell us. It all boils down to Kate always doing what Kate wants, when Kate wants. No one told Kate to have 8 kids. And when this all blows over, and we find out that J&K blew all that money (if they did), who's going to pay for those 8 kids? They're already getting a free ride on college tuition by the State of PA, but who's going to pay the rest of their bills?

I'm not trying to be unfriendly, it just really annoys me that so many posters want to ridicule and pick apart everything J&K do. Yes, they have put themselves in the public eye but I don't understand why so many posters feel it's necessary to point out "flaws" in EVERYTHING they do. They are human and so are all of the posters on this board and anytime a human is involved, there are going to be mistakes...but a lot of posters on here seem to think otherwise when it comes to themselves and what they would do...even though they have never been faced with most of the things J&K have.

Did anyone else realize that Kate waited until the day before the party to go by the party stuff? Most moms I know have that stuff well in advance, but we usually forget something and have to send dh out to get it.:thumbsup2

she was out of town before the party....big deal, she went the day of.....let's take her out and stone her...

I swear I'm on the GWOP site with all the nit picking and Kate bashing around here anymore......

If you have ever actually watched J&K, they refer to themselves as a "fertility nightmare." They didn't set out to have 8 children and you have NO idea what thier doctors told them. Yes, Kate had two healthy girls but she wanted ONE more just like A LOT of other families in this world. I am actually glad she didn't go with the selective reduction that a lot of doctors recommend in that situation. Which ones would you suggest they do without, Alexis, Leah, Hannah, Joel, Collin or Aaden? Instead of speculating that they have or will blow all of thier money, have you ever considered that they may be saving some of it...yes, they bought a bigger house away from all the looky-loo-s...God forbid. I think the state OFFERED the tuition so maybe you should take that up with the appropriate gov't officials.

that was the way I understood it -- there were pictures of the camera people with mics and such. that's why I think Kate's blog is hooey. :lmao: she didn't get up and decide to make a trip to the party store.

then again, maybe she was. this is the realest reality show there is, after all ... the crew is available at a moment's notice to follow Kate where ever she goes. I didn't see that mentioned in her blog that she had to call and summons the crew to come along and film ...

I'm so confused. What's reality and what's not? :upsidedow

I agree with the bolded part...Kate did a wonderful thing by carrying all 6 babies to delivery and they are beautiful and healthy. I think she does love each and every one of them. But she did say that she was hospitalized for hyper-stimulation of her ovaries (which would mean waaaaay more eggs!) and still went ahead to try and get pregnant, which she did shortly after the hospitilization. So I'm thinking that she must have been too eager to be patient and wait till her ovaries settled down somewhat! I don't believe she wanted 6 at once.

I'm sure they have stashed plenty of money away for the future which is why some here question their motives for continuing, you know? Anyhow, I think when you put yourself out there for the whole world to judge, it's going to be very easy to be critical. Especially when J&K say they're just a normal family living their lives like other families. :goodvibes

My suggestion would have been to NOT have sex when her doctor's told her not to. Also, her and John were basically newlyweds when the twins came along. Twins alone must have been hard on their finances and relationship. It's also been said that John was unable to keep a job and this has always been the case. Knowing that you husband doesn't like to work, and you already have twins, do you think you should re-think a bigger family? And BTW, how were the treatments paid for?

Basically, I have a problem not only with Kate but with all the other people out there who think it's their right to have as many children as they want, without the ability to provide for them. I wanted a big family but for many reasons, finances being one of those reasons, I realized after one that I was done. I made a hard, adult decision that meant my life plan would have to change. As the old saying goes --she's made her bed (like that would ever happen ), now let her lie in it.

I haven't seen that many recent interviews with them, I'll have to admit but it's been a while since I heard them say they are like other normal families. I'm hoping the marriage survives. I do tend to think that it would be strained with or without the show with so much going on and so much pressure that comes with having that many children. I also have to admit that I can understand some of her decisions to do things for herself...being a mother doesn't have to mean ALWAYS sacrificing for your children like a saint. Moms are entitled to do things to better themselves. There are A LOT of moms who work outside the home...myself included. I don't think it's a bad idea for her to have things set up for herself in case the marriage fails. I'm glad she's not sitting around waiting to become a victim.

Wow. Most of what you just said about them is hearsay and complete speculation. We have no idea what the dr. told them not to do and we have no idea about thier relationship/finances after the twins. I had only been married for about a year when I got pregnant...shame on me!!

It sounds like there could be some bitterness...you said you wanted a bigger family but made the decision not to go in that direction. Kate wanted a bigger family and decided to go for it. Just b/c she didn't make the same decision, doesn't make her less of a person.:confused3
