I thought the doctor who did Kate's tummy tuck after the tup's donated his services? This article is saying TLC paid for it:

I think she looks darn good right after she had those babies. A lot younger, but really good.

hmmm... I thought (pretty sure in my thought process, too) that someone saw the show or knew of Kate and was so impressed by her having the babies that she wanted her husband to do Kate's tummy tuck. Kate spent some recovery time at her house.

That was the first episode I remember watching, thinking when the show ended that night, Kate was literally a different person. I could see the transformation right before my eyes.

That's how I remember it too. Kate lifted her shirt and I thought, holy cow, I'd never have the guts to show myself on camera that way!

Yes, the doctors wife saw that clip and told her husband about it. They contacted Kate and offered her the free tummy tuck, I saw the episode where she went in for the pre-consultation visit. It was CRAZY how different it looked! Didn't she call it her tummy butt or something like that?

Yeah, the wife fell in love with Kate. It was the second special, I think. It wasn't the regular show.

now that I'm not sure. I remember the episode where the kids went to the dentist and it was mentioned that was Jon's dad's practice. I also remember the show when they got the whitening .. I don't remember it being the same, but I don't remember it not being the same, either. LOL.

with the idea of donations in mind, it's not unusual to see donation pages on websites like the Gosselins. I was only commenting to the posted who said she never saw them asking for stuff, because they most certainly did.

I know the kids go to his dad's office, and I don't think JK went to that office, but I thought it was through those connections that the whole teeth whitening came about. Wow, long sentence. Sorry about that.

For some reason I'm thinking that they traveled somewhere other than Jon's Dad's practice for whitening. It didn't look like the same office as the one where the tups all went to.

I thought these pictures were interesting...there are some from the speaking engagement J&K went to after he was caught with Deanna as well pictures of them with the bodyguard at their house. The pictures of them at the house appear to be the same day as the speaking engagement at the PA Women's Conference and I have to say, those pics (at the house) look very relaxed and normal...Jon is playing with the dogs, Kate is their outside with the bodyguard as well. I don't know but they certainly didn't looked upset with each other and the scandal had been in the news for days. Weird.

maybe.... I also wonder if there's a connection with the professional website and a contract with TLC. Season 1 went well, they sign with stipulations about what they can put on the site?

IIRC, Jon & Kate were reportedly collecting the love offerings last summer, after the change in the website. So they were still taking monetary donations in some form or fashion. One may have nothing to do with the other, for all I know.

Dad's office would likely offer care for the family regardless of the show .. but the teeth whitening (which I remember that one -- it freaked me out. Not really. Dr. So-and-so from Dr. Gosselin's office knows Dr. Teeth Whitener. Let's her know about the Gs and she donates the whitening for publicity. Which, if that's the case, didn't work since no one can remember where they went. Or not. I could be just thinking about the kids' care.

at any rate, those sparkly white teeth are probably covered somehow through TLC ... maybe not that one episode, but I'd say white teeth are pretty important to the Kate image. at least that's how it works in my mind, TV contracts are not something I'm familiar with at all. Teeth whitening may be something Kate and Jon choose to do on their own, in which case TLC is covering costs for, just in a different way. LOLOL

You are right..it says they filmed it, but it also says:

"At 34, Kate Gosselin looks thinner -- and younger! -- than she did in 2004, thanks to a little help from TLC."

So what help did TLC give?

SNL mentioned JK8 in Weekend Update (and WDW!!). I never watch SNL, but I didn't change the channel after the news.

It said Kate denies the split, but TLC's fall schedule features "Jon + 4" and "Kate + 4."

They also said something about the Great Piggy Bank Adventure thing opening at WDW and a joke about Offshore Bankers of the Carribbean.

I did think the photos were interesting of them talking and playing with the dogs - they seem very relaxed with one another if these were meant to be taken when all the rumours were flying. Makes you wonder how much this is all being hyped by the media?

I didn't see the point of the other photos of them separately - they could easily have been cropped to cut the other one out. And what was the point of them anyway? Again, all media hype.

Good to see the dogs - some other threads still go on about how terrible Kate is for getting rid of the dogs!

I was in the middle of making pizza dough when I saw that clip of the stomach. I took one look at my dough and just said "Yeah,I'm done." Didn't have pizza for entire month after that.

I ask because dd's fiance is a marine at cherrypoint and he's driving a bus for the air show this weekend. We were going to but ds has a baseball game (then he hurt his arm and isn't playing). Dh and I really like fiance so say "hi" to the marines for us if you go back.

I have to admit......I did kind of tear up (ok I was crying) while we were parking yesterday thinking my DH's sitting here complaining that it's hot and these poor Marines are standing out in the heat all day working thinking it's one of the best jobs they could get considering their other possible assignments. I can't thank them enough or share the gratitude and appreciation I have for all of our armed services members and their amazing families.

I'm all for responsible treatments. I'd love to be able to have a biological child as a result of, well, you know. This is a family board. However, if it comes down to it, I will try IUI. If that doesn't work, I will resort to IVF (Octomom's treatment), but I would never in a million years implant a crazy number of eggs like that.

Plenty of prayers and pixie dust will be sent your way - feel free to store them up until you're ready to use them!

Seriously, I LOVE this thread! We have in the last week discussed adultery, scandal, child tv rights, Kate's hair, government rights and fertility treatments! What a well rounded group we are.

Ok I'm not the brightest bulb in the package....I couldn't find the pictures you're (and others) referring to. I only saw the three of Kate (the before and after and the two with her body guard) and the 92 other "celebrity" ones (thinking it might be in there). I didn't see another link but I'm sure I missed it!
