Anyway... if Kate is bored or tired, then they need to find a time to film when she's not. I find that terribly disrespectful to the people who have invested themselves in loving this family/show. The fans that have made JK8 what it is deserve better.

PS. I don't, for one second, believe what is seen on TV is the real Kate. I never have. (not a shock to anyone here, I'm sure)

Really ? I have to disagree. That would be the same as saying that they had to find a time when all of the kids weren't tired, cranky etc...... that's not real.

Margie?!

after all these months? Margie? Seriously? :upsidedow

I was going to put maRge, but Margie seemed so much more loving! :rotfl:

Somehow I don't think it's the fans of the show complaining about Kate's demeanor during the interviews.

So, you think Kate is a sweetie? Because to most people the Kate on the show is usually a "shrew." You don't think that's the real Kate? Elaborate...

Interesting article.

I watched last night. I'm confused over why they would cover that beautiful hardwood with stone. My SIL had stone in her kitchen/dining room combo and it was a pain to clean, she had to seal it year after year, and it was slippery when wet (that phrase takes me back to the 80's!). I would kill for those hardwood floors.

The way I took that was they were seeing how the stone tile would look with the wood floors. :confused3

I can't wait to see the puppies!

I don't think Kate is a sweetie. Not even close.

But I do think that's what a lot of the fans think - they adore her! I see so many comments about how she's been wronged, or whatever. (I've been reading the JK8 love blogs today, can you tell?) She's St. Kate of Motherhood to those people. People that have met her for 30 seconds at a book signing? They think Kate can do no wrong, now. They've seen all they ever need to see.

As far as the interviews go, I do believe the fans deserve more than the flat Kate we've seen in the last few episodes. If she can travel across the country for book signings, TV appearances, Home shows, etc. and be charming? She can do the same for the TV show.

Last nite Jon made the comment, "how Kate is finally home to do some shopping for their house." He said it is pretty unusuall because she is always gone.
This is when they went to the store to buy the tile for the downstairs.

I think what we see on TV is the real Kate. In the older episodes, I think she was "putting it on" for the cameras. As the series went on, I think she got more comfortable and started being the real Kate. JMHO.

Everyday people go to work being tired, sick, exhausted, or mad and they have to act a certain way because they are at work. Both Jon and Kate have said that the show is their job now, so they owe it to their employers (us) to put on a good show. Tired, bored, whatever, get over it and at least act like you are enjoying yourself. I don't mind the tired, yawns, bored when it is the candid scenes because that is everyday life. YKWIM?

but that is my point...their show IS their job, to show what their lives are. and sometimes life is you are tired/exhausted/sick/whatever. so why show differently?

This is one of those cases where they can't win.

If they act realistic (tired, bored, etc) they are blamed for not giving a full effort. But if they act all perky and "on" then they get accussed of living the easy life or playing it up for the camera.

I know they put themselves in this situation, but jeez, they can't win. I personally prefer to see the real Kate and Jon and if they are tired then show it. I hate when people act "fake".

Is anyone else scared for those little puppies? I hope the kids treat the puppies better than they treat each other.

I don't consider the interview portion part of the "show". I consider it a recap portion. Personally I would like to see them get rid of the commentary. Either way, my personal opinion is that in the recap commentary they should at least appear to be interested in what is being talked about regarding the show. If they are interested, why should the viewer be interested. No in the candid everyday, day-to-day, scenes, then act how you want to act. Once again, my opinion.

Again...it doesn't seem to be the fans of the show that are complaining. I've not seen a fan feel "wronged" or "cheated" because Kate's had her chin resting on her hand the past two episodes. Half the time Jon looks catatonic, but no one's ever commented on him.

When did I ever say I was wronger or cheated? I was just stating my opinion of her behavior in the commentary portion of the show. I wouldn't let anything Kate does effect me so much that I would ever feel wronger or cheated.

Jon looks checked out most of the time. I would too if my husband made fun of the way I talked, mocked me, and demeaned me in front of a national audience. He has been that way since the beginning of the show, no real change. I think people mention it about Kate because there has been such a huge change in behavior in the commentary since the beginning of the show.

OK, you should know by now, in this thread especially, that not everything in a post is directed toward the quoted post. It's often commentary on the general situation (that you posted about, too).

And, seriously, this may be what bugs me the most about the whole JK debate. Poor Jon, he's a saint, blah blah blah.* Jon knew Kate before they got married. He knew (and knows) her personality. He could have chosen not to marry her. He could have chosen (or choose) to divorce her. Obviously he hasn't or doesn't feel that demeaned.

*Yes, DreaGirl, I realize you didn't say that, but others in the thread have, just as others in the thread have said things along the line of "Kate owes the fans, so she needs to perk up during interviews." You just happen to be the last person who posted/easiest to quote.

Whenever I quote someone I'm talking to that person. When I'm talking in general "you" then I don't quote. That is why I thought you were talking to me.

I don't think Jon is a saint. I think he has been checked out for a long time, no change for him. If he feels fine with the way he is treated, which he obviously does, then that is his perogative. I was stating my observation and my opinion.

I seriously need to stop with this thread or my trip report is never going to get done! :rotfl:

I see plenty of comments on Jon. Maybe not on this thread .. but they're out there.

And I don't know that I would use the word complain to describe comments I've read about the recent interviews. People are noticing, though. On both sides of the internet argument. How that translates to the overall viewership, I have no idea.

It's been commented on here over and over that they can't win, no matter what they do. And to appease a small portion of the viewership, they can't. There is group of people that will never be satisfied, even though they claim they will be when the show is off the air. (I don't buy that) But several pages ago, someone pointed out that they have, indeed, won. Won what? They have monetary success, even without the show, Kate has deals with Lane furniture, Procter & Gamble, Kmart, etc. There are new books coming out. So in that regard, I'd say they hit the jackpot.

Now, in the grand scheme of things, where the kids are concerned .. I think it's too soon to say what they've won.

I'm a fan of the show. I've watched every week for over a year. I said I agreed that Kate hasn't seemed like her normal self lately in the interview chair, but I never said I felt "wronged" or "cheated." I was just making an observation. Honestly, I think maybe she'd doing too much right now, because she just hasn't seemed like her happy self that I used to see in the interview chair. I don't really care one way or the other, but it's just an observation. I think either she's not really enjoying doing the show any longer (and let's face it, who could blame her) or she's just doing too much and is exhausted.

IF it were either of those things .. and we'll never know one way or the other ... then Kate should learn to say no. One would think they're in a position now to do that and not jeopardize their spokesfamily demand.

I wonder .. is the show still the most lucrative thing they do, financially? The speaking engagements, spokesperson deals, book contracts ... are they worth more than the show?

I had to laugh when I saw the new fridge. WHAT in the world did she clean out the other one so well for???
For T.V. It is a reality show!:lmao:
And I still can't get over she did it without gloves.

Just checking to see if I heard this right.

They got new washers and dryers, two each. Kate was asked how many loads she did a day and she said THREE? Why would you need two of each appliance for only 3 loads per day? One set would suffice.

Did anyone catch that? Did she really say three?
Yes, she said three loads. This washers do more then the normal load of clothes. I am sure she did say sheets. She was stating the what the company says about jeans.

A friend of mine sent me the link to the listing for the old house. Here it is

http://www.realtor.com/realestatean...drew-Avenue_Elizabethtown_PA_17022_1106127609
WOW it came down in price. They were asking $360,000.00

Wow, 330,000 to live in E-town? Seems a little much to me, but who knows. Also, it says it's 5 bedrooms, I thought they only had 4 (J&K; Maddy and Cara; girls; boys??)
No, not really. Though I dont see the house selling to soon, with the housing market.

Interesting article.

It looks like part of it the floor is carpet and part in rug. I guess we will see them sealing it year after year!

Is anyone else scared for those little puppies? I hope the kids treat the puppies better than they treat each other.

I am not worried about the kids; I think kids and dogs go hand in hand.
It is Kate who scares me. :scared1: She does not seem like an animal person at all. I hope Kate knows dog backwards is GOD! I would have like for them to have adopted two dogs from a local shelter. They would have been a great episode. I should be producing these shows.:rotfl2:

So did anyone notice that Jon said it was a great family thing painting the house yet, Maddy and Cara were not helping? I am sure they would have liked to help. Also, Kate acted surprised that the appliances were stainless steal. Ok, even if Jon picked them out, wouldn’t he have talked it over with her?
Or was ever thing free from whirlpool?

Jon made the comment that he decided to make all the appliances the same. Kate was moving around and said the "dishwasher wasn't working and wouldn't clean the dishes" "the microwave wasn't working" and Jon said, "he picked a stainless steal microwave and he love it. You press popcorn and it will pop the popcorn without burning it. Um, I had that on my last 2 micro-waves.

Also, someone said something about giving up their show because they have all these other deals. I bet they stay with the show. Miley Cyrus just signed another contract with Disney to play Hannah Montana for another year. Miley Cyrus is projected to earn over a billion, "a billion" dollars in endorsements this year. She knows the best way to keep her face out there, is to remain in her tv show. Young kids see her show, they want her products. She goes off their shows like other "Disney kids have" and they fade away very fast.
