I had to laugh when I saw the new fridge. WHAT in the world did she clean out the other one so well for???

I'm guessing she didn't know for sure if she would be buying (or receiving) a new one. As efficient as Kate is, I doubt she'd spend all that time cleaning it if she wasn going to get rid of it. Unless she's planning to sell it? :confused3

Just checking to see if I heard this right.

They got new washers and dryers, two each. Kate was asked how many loads she did a day and she said THREE? Why would you need two of each appliance for only 3 loads per day? One set would suffice.

Did anyone catch that? Did she really say three?

I heard 3 loads of laundry a day too. If I get behind I could do 4 or 5 a day. On those days I wish I had 2 dryers, but for day to day I certainly don't need 2 sets. And I sure don't have room for 2 sets. Well if I gave up my scrapbooking room in the basement I could get another set in, but then I'd have a set up stairs and in the basement. Really the bigger issue is there is no way in heck I'm giving up my scrap room!

Maybe they're really big loads. :rotfl: :laundy:

I would love 2 washers and 2 dryers.
The kids will get bigger, thus bigger clothes.
When my kids were in h.s., I was doing 4 loads a day
and at least 10 loads were done on saturday and 2 on Sunday.
Teenagers can go through 3 sets of clothes a day, especially if
they are in a sport.

Yes, they had a commercial for them and it showed three big baskets of towels and said they would fit in the washer.

Maybe she meant three loads per washer per day. That quantity would seem to be more likely to fit their family size.

I've never seen the skiing/skating portion of the Utah trip (just the plane ride). I like this episode!! I suck at skiing, but I could sure do the spa!

Omg...that would be my dream....I would kill for a set up like the Duggar's have! I could do all my laundry at once and be done!!

So, Kate said at the end of the Utah episode that it would probably be one of few trips there that they would have to look back on the memories.

Interesting how quickly a situation can change.

Interesting article.

I watched last night. I'm confused over why they would cover that beautiful hardwood with stone. My SIL had stone in her kitchen/dining room combo and it was a pain to clean, she had to seal it year after year, and it was slippery when wet (that phrase takes me back to the 80's!). I would kill for those hardwood floors.

yup.

they've come quite far since that episode. good and bad.

Wow, 330,000 to live in E-town? Seems a little much to me, but who knows. Also, it says it's 5 bedrooms, I thought they only had 4 (J&K; Maddy and Cara; girls; boys??)

you're paying for the privilege to live in the JK8 house! Plus, it has industrial strength washers & dryers, and that new stove! I'm surprised they're not asking more than that ...

now THAT's the Kate I know and love :lmao:

I watch HGTV and there are times I want to ask the people WTH they're thinking ... different people have different styles. Defies logic, sometimes. LOL.

I was wondering that too, but also wish that I had a husband like Jon who knew how to decorate. I was born without the decorating gene and it would be nice if my husband had it.

I am also wondering about the 3 loads of laundry a day, I'm guessing they are 3 giant loads. I have 4 people in my house, and 2 of them are teenagers that change clothes a million times a day and I am ALWAYS doing laundry. I can easily do one or two loads every day, I'm sure if I added 6 more people to the household 3 loads a day wouldn't be enough to stay on top of it.

I was cringing when they showed the kids painting! I am very anal about painting and I would have been flipping out with those kids painting! I don't know why they painted the trim first though...I would have taped up the trim, painted the walls THEN painted the trim...but that's just me.

Why oh why did they get puppies? :confused3 If I had 8 kids and was as anal (and rich) as Kate is, I would have gotten a dog that was already trained. I am a little ocd about how my animals are taken care of and I can't imagine having to take care of 8 kids AND 2 puppies.
