Can someone post a link or give me a review of the Jolly Roger, I really want to stay at HoJos but dh is thinking Jolly Roger looks better (probably because its cheaper!). We are thinking the first week of March for dd's 5th birthday and would need a suite. Thanks!

Have you checked the reviews on TripAdvisor? They seem pretty middle of the road - some good, some bad. From perusing them, it appears that they did a remodel in 2008, and that most of the bad reviews were from before then, with fairly decent reviews since then.

HTH,

I haven't stayed there, but have checked it out. I would recommend Jolly Roger as one of the last choices. It just seems dingy to me.

Go with HoJo! We recenty stayed at the Anaheim Plaza ~ $52 per night, it's walkable and I'd stay there again. We're spending 1 night @ HoJo early next month ~ paying $59 + tax for the 1 night!

I stayed there once a couple years ago, and was not impressed. I'm by no means a hotel snob (if it's clean, not too far away & not scary, it's fine with me). I can appreciate a place like Hojo's or Stovall's that's "charmingly retro", but the Jolly Roger was just dingy and kind of scary. You can stay closer for less money, too. For that I'd reccomend the Anaheim Plaza Hotel...it's older but clean, close, and just feels "safer".

Any review of the Comfort Inn Anaheim Maingate, it looks like that will be cheapest with the Get Away Today promo and they have free breakfast, I know we would have to do ART again but we didnt mind it when we were there last week so that is okay.

We stayed there a couple years ago ~ the space was nice but it'd be a long walk, it's so worth it to stay with in walking distance - I assume you did not stay with in walking distance during your recent trip. HoJo with the ent rate can't be beat ~ check here for dates - http://www.hojoanaheim.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14 It's probably still worth it if say you'll be there 3 nights but only 2 are available with the ent rate ~ you can save 15-20% with your AP for that 3rd night. As I stated in my PP we recently stayed at the Anaheim Plaza for $52 per night ~ I would stay there again - http://www.anaheimplazahotel.com/

Don't bother with GAT ~ book your hotel directly through the hotel - you don't need hoppers (you have APs) I only use GAT for character meal vouchers but I actually prefer ARES for vouchers ~ http://arestravel.com/77_DisneylandResort.html

With GAT you "request" a specific room type but it's not guarenteed. We just did that and it was a bit stressful. I'd just book directly with the hotel. The prices turned out about the same.

We stayed at Comfort Inn Maingate last year. It's really nice, though definitely not walkable with youngsters. The beds are really comfy.

I stayed at the Jolly Roger in May for a week and it was awesome. They have recently remodeled(sp?) and everything was clean and nice. I was worried at first because lots of review sites had bad reviews, but it ended up being a great choice!

I wouldn't pay more than $60/night to stay there though. It is a simple room, no special ammenities.
