Jolly Holiday Bakery Now Open!!!!

we were right behind you ! we were walking with purpose to Indy at the 7am EE when I saw Oscar. We gave him a big hug and I congratulated him on his 55 years last week. He walked us arm in arm to the bakery. We didn't stay since I am not a big sweets eater.......we also forgot Indy didn't open till 8 ! Oh well.

My daughter and I ate breakfast there Friday morning (1/6). We just had muffins and coffee, but we sure enjoyed sitting in the sunshine outside and watching the people pass by.

And the ceiling inside the bakery is just GORGEOUS!!! Make sure to look up when you're inside--all the little details... lovely.

Nice to have a larger, more spacious and relaxing bakery than the previous one. :thumbsup2

Also, we saw the cutest thing outside. Mary Poppins and Bert were there greeting people as they came in, and a little "Mary Poppins" came up to them. She couldn't have been more than 7. I loved watching the interaction between the "Marys."

I wonder what the toasted cheese sandwich is like? Would it be like a grilled cheese sandwich, or toast, with some kind of cheese in it? Does anyone know? Thanks! :)

Tried it today and the line was pretty long at 4pm since it is still so new =)

We had the:

(1) Corn chowder (delicious!)--big chunks of corn with a little bit of potato. The soup was not too thick and it was really delicious w/some ground pepper! YUM. The breadstick it came with was just OK.

(2) Banana Nut Loaf--this was really tasty, but a little dry. We bought it late in the day so it may be more moist earlier on in the day. I would buy this again as a snack. YUM!

We were lucky and got to sit at the table on the verandah just beneath the two stained glass Penguins. It's such a cute place! And I loved how all the tables and chairs were new.

ok I looked through this whole post and didnt find what I was looking for so I thought I would share something...you can find "Abuelita" in any store that sells mexican food products...now back east if you cant find it in a store you can order it through amazon and its really cheap...but out here, out west pretty much EVERY grocery store sells it ...its a nestle based product that comes in a yellow package with a picture of a grandmother like looking woman...heres the pic of the outside of the package:
http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&...w=131&start=0&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0,i:70

when you open the pkg. it it layers of this hard chocolate like baking chocolate...heres another pic:

you just crush the sections and melt them into the milk....so if you like it and you need a quick reminder ie disney fix...try this:goodvibes

...and Abuelita is tasty! I found a large package in a West Phoenix Sam's Club once for like three bucks.
