Johnny Depp was just nominated for Best Actor for PoC, Curse of the Black Pearl

I must admit I am suprised. I loved Curse of the Black Pearl, but its not the kind of movie the academy normally goes for.

Finding Nemo got a best screenplay nomination as well.

Woo Hoo. I was pretty sure he would get the nomination since he was getting nominated in all the lead-up events. But still I am sooooo happy and sooooo excited. He deserves it. POC would not have been the same movie without him

There were a number of comedies nominated! Lost In Translation, Diane Keaton for Something's Gotta Give, POTC. Good for the Oscars!

I was wonderin' how fast someone would post this news!! Both of these films deserved a nod of recognition.

Johnny Depp was fantastic in that movie! I cannot picture anyone else who would have been as good in that role.

I gasped when I heard that Cold Mountain was shut out for best picture-I thought that was a sure thing.

Honestly, I think that Johnny is unusually talented. He has a quality that sets him apart from the rest! I've always been really impressed by his performances so far!

I loved "Finding Nemo" too!

I was also very surpised to see him nominated. Pleasantly surprised. Actors/Actresses have said before that comeday is harder to do than drama.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see Seabiscuit nominated.

I'd vote for Johnny Depp . It's about time the Academy recognized a few films/actors that most moviegoers actually saw and liked. Isn't there a category for best animated feature now? If Finding Nemo loses that, something is very wrong.

POTC was a great movie. I really enjoyed it and I am not even a big Johnny Depp fan.
