I'm not a huge fan of JD either, but how cool would it be if he won for POTC? He was fantastic in that role

I'm so glad to see that a comedic role was nominated. Usually the Academy brushes over those films in favor of the grand sweeping epic drama..those are good films but only a fraction of the amount of films that come out in a year.

I would love to see J.D get an award for POTC. I am not a huge J.D movie watcher, usually he picks strange movies to be in. I have to admit he was Awesome in POTC. I don't believe he has ever gotten an award, so it sure would be nice to see him finally have a movie that deserves such a trinket.

I love Bill Murray but he has gotten a couple awards in his day. It is time to share with those who have not been so fortunate in their careers.

I think Sean Penn is heavily favored to win the Oscar, but it is cool that Depp was nominated. Can't say myself, since I will probably never watch Mystic River. I don't consider the subject matter entertaining. Another very cool shocker was Keisha Castle-Hughes' nomination for Whale Rider. Well deserved, but still shocking. Diana
