Initially it was scheduled to run through September. BUt as any new tested thing they want to see how things go. I'm sure it's been such a success I can't imagine them stopping it. This is from AllEars

I saw the pictures of the "Pirate Tutorial" show and was wondering if it will be continuing through the fall? My wife and I will be going to the World soon for our anniversary. Thanks!

Hi Jeff!

I've heard that the Pirate Tutorials will be held during January's Pirate and Princess parties at the Magic Kingdom, but that does you no good since you won't be there in January. However, I have also heard this RUMOR: This information is NOT OFFICIAL, but is strictly hearsay from a friend of a friend who knows someone in the Pirate Tutorial show. (I kid you not! Talk about your six degrees of separation!) Anyway, I heard that the show has been so popular that the actors just signed an extension on their contract. I repeat, this has not been verified by anyone in an official capacity and is strictly third-party hearsay, but I certainly hope it's true! I had the pleasure of seeing the show a couple of weeks ago. It is very funny and entertaining, and Captain Jack Sparrow is spot on!

On a related note, I have also heard that because the Pirate Tutorial has been such a success, Disney is casting for some other "tutorials" including cowboys and royal princes and princesses. No official word on those yet either, so we'll have to wait and see what the Year of a Million Dreams holds in store for us, mateys! Arrrrrrrrrh!

My son is really looking forward to PotC and bringing his Pirate Sword along for the ride (an official PotC inflatable sword from the McD's Happy Meal last month).

Anyway, our park plan is to be in that area later in the afternoon. Most people so far have mentioned morning shows. Has anyone seen this in the afternoon? If so, when? Same guy, or the one that people say isn't so good.

My son would love to see and be a part of that show before the ride if possible - so I hope there is an afternoon time.

I can't wait to see this! We will be in the MK on Friday, so hopefully I can find a CM with some info.... He just looks so yummy..... :teeth:

We won't be there until March. I hope big time that they continue it so we can see him too. Looks awesome!!

Wow ~ he does look amazingly similar!!! We arrive on Sat. and then be there for the next 10 days!!!!, so I'll be sure to get TONS of pics!!! LOL

DS thinks he IS Capt. Jack......... so, he'll LOVE this!!! pirate:

Okay, so I just got back and you can find the times of the Pirate Tutorial on the bulletin board thing as you walk up Main Street, on the left hand side (right before the walkway that goes to the Restaurant (Crystal Palace, I think). There is usually a CM there with maps and the bulletin board lists the lands and shows that are happening. The Pirate Tutorial is listed and takes place right next to POTC. When we were there last week the times were something like this...

10:15
11:20
2:15pm
3:20pm

That's not exact, but close. Check the board I mentioned and it will say. It was the only place I saw it posted. I must say he did the voice very well. However he is much taller than Depp and even my 5 year old said, "Yeah, but he's not the real Capn' Jack" And my wife was not impressed with his looks in person either (and she is a huge Johnny Depp fan).

Oh yeah, what happens is that the first pirate comes out with all the pirate stuff and starts talking about Capn' Jack. He lays a rope out which serves as the line that you don't cross. So if you stay right up to the rope then you are front row. And have your children volunteer. At one point lots of kids get to line up and they will all get a scroll telling them they are apprentice pirates. You will have a hard time getting one after the show as they exit quickly and the pirate (not Jack, because he runs away) isn't too pleased when kids are trying to get them at the end of the show.

Also, if you are even a few minutes early you'll get front row (at least for now) because most people don't know where the schedule is posted.

Anyhow, hope that helps.

I didn't get that vibe from the other pirate at all. He seemed to be a bit mad at Captain Jack for leaving him behind and he grumbled as he picked up the rope and put things away, but he wasn't mad at the kids. In fact, he walked around and handed out more scrolls to children (like my niece) who were too chicken to volunteer or those who were too far back to get into the rope circle.

We will definately put this on our schedule of things to see. DS loves pirates!

:thumbsup2 It was a very entertaining show. The previously listed schedule looked about right, but the CMs in the pirate store knew the times as well and were very helpful. Mack was very entertaining and Captain Jack was unbelievable. He had Johnny's mannerisms down impeccibly. Even DH was surprised and commented on how good Captain Jack was. Tremendous personality, too, with ad-lib comments during the show. Lots of fun! I would love them to keep this around for a long while. Pirates 3 comes out when . . . May? Yeah, at least through next summer (when we can get down there again!). pirate:

Hmmm, that's interesting because he was just trying to rush out of there when a kid went up and asked. He gave him one, then all the other kids started trying to get them and he grumbled that they should have volunteered (okay my kid was too chicken too, the 5 year old. The 3 year old volunteered, go figure). After he gave out a couple more he said "that's it, anyone else has to come to the next show and volunteer" Anyway, ya never know since he is trying to be a pirate and this could have still been part of the act.

Oh yeah, if it rains too hard they won't come out... but the CM said it is up to them, so you don't know for sure until it's time.

Hmmm so here is my dilema, how to convinice family that I have to go to WDW before the show ends??? Next dilema how do I get that sent to my room??? THey do let you send purchased items back how about my own Jack sparrow !!

Life would be good with a pirate like that yoo hoo hoo......

There are at least two different pirate crews appearing. We saw the show in its entirety once and passing by a second time. The first time, my DS got in the show and the guy was the dead ringer whose picture is posted earlier. The second time, we passed by and the Johnny Depp imitator was not nearly so good, and his assistant was different too. One crew was MUCH better than the other. And DS thought for sure he was the "real" Johnny Depp and argued with me when I told him he wasn't.

We were there on 8/19 with the morning crew. Perhaps he changed his mind about giving scrolls away or we saw a different crew. The actors were the same for both of our MK morning visits.

We were there this past Saturday at 11:15 and it was the two guys in the picture in post #23 in this thread. I know for sure the one that isn't Jack Sparrow is the pirate we had handing out the scrolls. Is that the one you had? I see other pictures where the sidekick guy is wearing different clothes. Anyhow, moods can change for anyone, depending on their schedules I guess.
