Believers will believe...non-believers will not believe, as with any topic on this board...but for what it's worth, my daughter, a CM, was at a MNSSHP parade last year, and thought the Jack Sparrow on the float looked remarkably like Johnny Depp. We had been with her at a parade the previous year and remarked how much the CM on the float did NOT look like Johnny Depp. She thought nothing more about it until she heard other CMs saying immediately after the parade that it was indeed him - he had been at the park that day and was on the float for the second parade. If I remember correctly she just has a distant blurred picture, because she was not expecting it to be JD, and she had taken pictures before, so no need for more. But I will check and see if she has a close up.

I was also a CM at the parade last year (every. single. night.), and that story went around on every night of the party, the "tellers" keeping score of how many gullible CMs and Guests they could talk into the fact that the "real" Jack Sparrow / Johnny Depp was there that night. They had a pretty convincing patter down, and managed to snow quite a lot of people. (Of course, it helped that the crop of Jack Sparrows that year were really good Jack Sparrows ... )

If your daughter happens by the Pirate Tutorial breakroom, she can see the tally sheets from the past three years.

My niece has only been in the parks for a couple of months so it very well may be that someone is playing a prank on her. Additionally this may have helped stir all the speculation.

He has no history or reputation of being someone who thrives on sneaking around as a character while everyone else is oblivious. He has no history of doing this type of thing anywhere, in any role ever.

In fact he did sneak around London several years ago doing his own research for a film called "From Hell" about Jack the Ripper. I did a Jack the Ripper walking tour and the guide said he sat for hours in one of the pubs frequented by some of the victims talking to a man who said he was researching the Ripper case for a project he was working on. It turned out to be Johnny Depp. He was finally recognized by a some women who came into the pub.

Doesn't sound like he was "sneaking" around. By your description, he was just a guy sitting in a pub doing research. He did not dress up as someone else and sneak around portraying a character on the streets of London. He was simply himself, gathering research for a character, much like many other actors do.
