Johnny as Willy Wonka?

I heard about this one a while ago... but if any one call pull it off, he could. He truly amazes me with his talent!

After his outstanding portrayal of Jack Sparrow - I think Mr. Depp can do ANYTHING. I look forward to seeing him as WW.

I'm glad he's doing more films for young kids... since they seem to like him so much. Heard him say that since he'd become a Father, he wanted to do some things his children could see.

Johnny will be great! Hope they have that boat scene like in the original. That is one of my fave parts of the movie. Gene Wilder was so good.

My DH heard that Tim Burton was trying to get Gene Wilder to play the Grandpa.

Wouldn't that be interesting?

Anxiously awaiting the next Johnny Depp movie.....

I don't get the remakes-are all the imaginative stories over?
I'm not happy about the remake of the Wizard of OZ either.

"Finding Neverland" looks really good; I saw the preview a while ago on a DVD I rented. Depp is amazing! Although I have mixed feelings about a "Wonka" remake, Depp is the only person I'd want to see take a shot at it.

Sounds interesting. I'm sure that it will attract many ladies so that they can see Johnny on the big screen, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is such a childhood favorite movie that I'm sure alot of people will go and see it.

Thanks for the link Michdiser. He looks quite handsome in this movie. Although...I think I like him with longer hair. Should be a good movie.
Did any of you see Once upon a time in Mexico. It was horrible. It's only saving grace were the few good lines Johnny had, or the improv he did.

Wow! What a terrible movie.

It's funny, that was one movie my husband and I totally loved. It is not for the faint of heart though, but having watched El Mariachi, Desperado and then Once Upon a Time... they just kept getting better for us. This one had us laughing most of the time.

I did also want to say that as much as I like Gene Wilder, he's not exactly what I picture as the best Willy Wonka... I can't explain why, but as much as I did like that movie, it would be nice to see someone do it again and see if it could be done better.
