John Smiths Grand National

Hiya all

So its grand national time of year again, and again I need a crystal ball to guess a winner.

This is the only horse race I ever watch, (though i cant remember what time it is on)

does any one else watch the national (i think its a national institution)

oh and how do you back a horse?

I think the race is at 3pm (or as soon as they can get all 3025752 horses in a decent line!)

Not sure how you back a horse though, I usually get my DF to do it online!

Well I am hopeing for a dream, seriously last week I dreamt I was at a race meeting and I was stood at the winning post when number 6 came past, the following day I was telling the boys in work and they said it was the Gold Cup that day and I should go a put a pound on number six.

Well I went into town the same day, passed the bookmakers, could not resist and went in, they told me number six was Kicking King, so I threw caution to the wind and placed £2.00 each way (big spender) and what do you know, it won, so I got back £16.00,it was favorite, but not bad for a £4.00 hunch.

I was born on Grand National day, so I am wishing for another dream. Just cant seem to dream about those all importent six numbers though.

my theory is the national is anyones race, cos all you need is one horse to take out the frount runners and then the 500/1 gets a shot lol, i will back a 500/1. though i will be carful not to back the same horse as my brother his never finish the race.

The Grand National is a big thing in our family - we all gather at my aunt's house and have a Sweepstake. Then everyone sits at the TV and watches the big race. There is usually so much noise that noone can hear the commentary about which horse has fallen.

And hey, guess who will be in WDW this year on Grand National Day....ME!!!!

we always bet on the national ( one bet a year is not bad lol) and the best year for me was when stevie claridge( ex leicester city player and heavy gambler) gave his tip out on the radio and i backed it and won £70.00 sadly ive lost every year since then
we should post who we have backed on here and have a small sweepstake
