A long-lost recording by John Lennon and Mick Jagger has been found at a London garage sale! The song, "Too Many Cooks," features Jagger on vocals and Lennon on guitar. It was recorded in 1974 but never commercially released because of contractual problems. Copies of the number then vanished from a recording studio, and it was feared lost forever, until a Stones fan bought an unmarked record at a garage sale and recognized Jagger's voice. The song was recently sent to Jagger, who confirmed it was he, along with Lennon and rocker Harry Nilsson. The song will be sold off on February 20 in London, where it could fetch $10,000 or more.

Speaking of Mick, he has gotten a diamond embedded in a tooth where an emerald used to be. "People thought I'd had bad teeth before," he quipped.

That's really interesting, Blondie

I'd love to hear this. You know, when I was growing up, you usually loved one group and hated another. It was such a shock to discover that they all thought they were cool and partied together.....and sang together.

I hope this is released commercially. It will be interesting to see what they were doing together at the time.

BTW, Mick.....diamonds and/or emeralds don't help. Sorry....

If memory serves - that time frame was an interesting one in the lives of both Lennon and Nilsson. Lennon was estranged from Yoko Ono and he and Nilsson were making nightly appearances in Los Angelese nightclubs and painting the town red!

I'd love to hear it! :)

Cool! I hope it get's released some way. . :) :) :)

Bernie, I believe your right. . . Nilsson and Lennon spent a few months that year trying to drink LA dry; it'd be interesting to find out where the song was recorded. . :)

Hi Eileen!!! {{{hugs}}} :) :) :)

I have heard this recording and it is a disappointment. You would never know John is on the song as you can't hear him singing. The songs sounds like a mediocre Stones outtake. I'm thinking it is from 1974.
