Ah - common ground. I agree with you that the biggest problem with the system we have now is that money is not spent wisely. But again - we get into talking about reform. I would love it if we could just overhaul the government - I just never see it happening.

Yep, sadly barring some major political meltdown of the 2 party system and a new reform party emerging that kind of sweeping change unfortunately will never happen. I guess at this point all we can do is put our fingers in the dike and hope it doesn't get much worse.

I am a little confused, I thought that he thought that people that have that kind of money should not have it and it all should be taxed and sent to the Federal Government in Washington DC? Why hasn't he given up all of those millions to the US Government like he says he will do by law if he becomes president?

I only wish he also claimed he was a huge champion of the environment too like the tobacco farm owning Al Gore is. I'm sure his 29000 square feet mansion is extremely environmentally friendly.

It’s hypocrisy, they claim, for Edwards to call himself a champion of the poor while living in the Taj Mahal. But like typical uneducated cons, they miss the point entirely. You see, when Edwards becomes president, he will be moving into a much smaller residence in a less desirable neighborhood. It will be rough not having an indoor basketball court or heated toilet seats at the White House, but it’s a sacrifice Edwards is willing to make for the honor to do the People’s Work.

He will of course retain his Chapel Hill plantation as a summer hideway – or perhaps a place to enjoy a much-deserved rest after tirelessly fighting for the poor and downtrodden folks he waves to from his limousine. But for 8 long years, a tiny little shack on Pennsylvania Avenue will be his primary home.



Don’t worry about ol’ John though, he’s no stranger to living humble surroundings. I’m not supposed to say anything, but it’s bound to come out eventually: Edwards grew up the son of poor textile workers.
