That was then, this is now. Don't you know how politics works?
Here, perhaps this will help.
Here are some great quotes by John McCain on w:
And yet, now w is releasing an ad that has McCain supposedly very supportive of w. Go figure.

2bemarried - I agree!! Not only that if he had chosen one of the others he would have had a better chance in carrying some of those states. He definately will not carry NC now.
I just heard on FOX news from some DEMOCRATS that now they definately would NOT vote for Kerry because of the terroist and war issue. That they had hoped that he would have selected someone with more military experience.
Score one for the GOP!!

I'm sure ThreeCircles will correct me on that.

Hypocrisy has a new face and a new name. This is posted by someone who started a obnoxious thread disparaging Colin Powell. Talk about sinking low ... I guess that means you're NOT voting for Kerry.

Sorry, all I can do is echo the **YAWN**! I think it was the safe, predictable choice...and I dont' think it'll matter a hil of beans, by January, we'll all be saying "John WHO?"
P.S> minniepumpernickel--take Hillary--please--I'm SOOO tired of that carpetbagging witch lousing up our beautiful state!
And they'd have at least three witnesses saying that he supported the war in Iraq before pulling that support, too

You know, I'm 100% convinced that Kerry could have chosen Jesus Christ himself, and the conservatives would call him an unemployed, hippy communist from a broken home that likes to hang out with prostitutesAnd they'd have at least three witnesses saying that he supported the war in Iraq before pulling that support, too

But, I'm curious...since when does experience mean so much to a Bush supporter ? He was completely clueless about foreign policy before taking office...couldn't even name several prominent world leaders. Targeting edwards while supporting Bush just makes you look hypocritical.
I don't think "military experience" has ever been called 100% essential by John Kerry. I think he has stated that his experience gives him an insight into the military that Bush, being a chickenhawk (my term, not Kerry's) can not appreciate, since he never served. Again, twisting the facts doesn't prove your point, it makes you look desperate.
One evening while he was campaigning for the Senate in North Carolina, Edwards was faced with a choice of several events he might attend. An advance man suggested, Maybe we ought to go to the reception for Leah Rabin Edwards responded, Whos she? Yitzhak Rabins widow, replied the aide. Who was he? asked Edwards. (Charles Peters, Tilting At Windmills, Washington Monthly, 6/1/03)

While Edwards will be attacked on the surface for his profession, etc. there is very little that he can be attacked on about his past. This is a man who grew up in blue collar home. he actually had a job. Yes, he did, and not one that was provided to him nor funded by his parents. How many republicans out there can say the same about their children. A man who worked through college, went to law school, and worked his tail off. I know all of you think that lawyers simply make money for nothing, but, in order to be as successful as Edwards was, many hours, many late nights, many missed family events and many missed vacations took place. While I do not know Edwards, I can guarantee that all of the above took place. He then made his money by being very good at what he did.
