John and Jessica's Wedding - - June 2010 SBP

Hope your wedding was everything you hoped for & more. As for the "haters" from that other site. The best revenge- to live a long blissful marriage...happily ever after.

I can't believe that it is actually my turn to write a TR. We had the most amazing time and the weather was unbelievably amazing. Our families had just as much fun as we did and I am so happy that I had a Disney Wedding.

Tanis Armstrong~ 7/10 Now I know that this seems low for a Disney Wedding Coordinator and that most people loved theirs, but all throughout my planning process she was nearly impossible to get a hold of. I would have given her an even lower score, but she was really amazing the day of the wedding and the days leading up to it. She totally surprised me and my family loved her...I guess they ended up chatting with her for a while when they were waiting for the limo.

Rosie~ 9/10 She understood right from day 1 what I wanted my bouquet to look like and she nailed it. My pink gerbera daisies were a huge hit..everyone loved them including me. It did weigh a ton but I was in love with my flowers. She gets a 9 rather than a 10 because she was another who was impossible to get a hold of. I had probably 3 unanswered emails from her..but in the end she came through.

Rev. Tim Herring ~ 8/10 Did his job, even called my grandparents and put the cell phone in his book so that no one could see and my grandparents got to hear the whole ceremony. He was kind of crabby and not overly friendly..but he did marry us so I couldn't give him that bad of a score.

Beaute Speciale~ 10/10 AMAZING! I loved my hair and makeup. I had 1 girl...I can't remember her name, but she was like an old friend. She came in and the conversation just flowed the whole 2 hours she was there. She did an amazing job from my inspiration pics to actually creating it on me. The hair and makeup lasted ALL DAY & NIGHT! One of the best decisions I made was to book them!

Carolyn Allens~ 10/10 Leading up until the wedding, even two weeks before, I had planned to carry on my dress on the plane. DH finally convinced me that I should ship it down and then I can have a worry free flight. It took alooooooooooot of convincing to allow my dress out of my site, but C.A. were amazing. They called the moment it arrived in their shop and came right on time to deliver and steam my dress. I had two women come to the room and they worked fast and hard! Great choice!

Randy Chapman~ 10/10 I even feel guilty for having second thoughts on Randy. I was unsure if his style photography was right for DH and I and we went back and forth about scheduling another photographer. I am so happy we did not. DH and I loved him! He was the best decision of our day and we both said that. Not only did he arrive early, but he stayed with us and followed us to Polynesian for some different shots even though he was giving us an extra hour. He knew exactly what I wanted, after I emailed him a description of the shots I wanted and made sure that we got them all. He knows Disney Weddings so much that he told me where I needed to be and when. He was great! I highly recommend him!

Ohana "Welcome Dinner"~ 5/10 Ughh!! What a disaster! We had 7:10pm reservations made back in October...when I got there to check us in, I was told that they were running 35 minutes behind..I was told that we were not going to be able to sit together and that we would have 2 tables in the same proximity. I was like, umm..not ok..I spoke with someone here when making my ressie and was told that all 13 of us would be able to sit together. I was also really annoyed because in our party of 13 is a baby who is almost 2..so a 35 minute wait was hell on her parents. After our wait we were finally seated together (good thing I put up a stink) and then the service still was so slow. People had mixed feelings on the food ( I for one did not enjoy my food), but it was good to have everyone around the table getting to know one another.

Grooms Cake by Mikkel~ 10/10 The cake was unbelievable. It was delicious and a huge hit with our guests. We had her deliver it to Ohana for the Welcome Dinner and she was there right on time! She was amazing..it was so nice to finally meet her after coordinating this cake for months.

Kona Cafe "Reception Lunch"~ 10/10 The was the best meal that I had the entire trip. Everyone loved their food and the staff was so sweet and helpful. I thought it was going to be a little awkward having a reception lunch in a restaurant that had other guests eating right next to us, but it wasn't. The attention I usually stand clear of on a daily basis, I actually really enjoyed on my wedding day.

Sea Breeze Point~ 10/10 Another decision I wavered on up until the day of the wedding. I was so in love with SBP but always feared that it would rain and I wouldn't get to use it. In the end it all worked out beautifully and perfect. It is so beautiful on its own that you don't need any floral..we used toss petals and petals down the aisle and that was it. I loved the pictures we got from SBP! It is so weird that after seeing so many others photos from SBP, when I was walking down the aisle myself it felt so surreal.

teaser pics to come..

I'm glad your back and you had a great time! I had the opposite experience with my coordinator...she was great all during the process, but disappointing on the actual day. I also had a horrible time with our group meal at Ohana, at least that wasn't for your wedding meal! I'm glad you enjoyed Kona! I have only been there for dinner, but I loved it!

I cannot wait to see all your pics :goodvibes

Randy sent us a few teaser pics to hold us over!

gorgeous pics!!!!! I can't wait to see our honeymoon pics with Randy. Loved your reviews, too.

Ohanas was horrible for our Welcome Dinner too! We waited over an hour to get seated. It was seriously ridiculous and I definitely wouldn't recommend them for large party seating to future Disney brides. I'm sorry to hear you had a similar experience.

Yay, can't wait to see more pics! :yay:

OMG I love your pictures!!!!! You both look amazing and so happy! I love the contrast between the scenery and your dress, stunning. Cant wait to see more :thumbsup2

Yayyy pictures! Loved them, they turned out GREAT!! Sounds like everything was perfect! :goodvibes I would love to see a close up of your bouquet since I'm also having gerbera daisies. Trying to get a feel for what I should tell Rosie from looking at both your bouquet and Wendy's! :cool1:

I do agree Tanis is difficult to get a hold of, but I'm so glad to hear she came through on the day of. She seems so great and helpful, I just feel like she's swamped with weddings.

Oh gracious I am sorry to hear that Rev Tim was crabby!! I have just booked him for our VR in May :scared1: He always seemed to have good reviews on the board and was so sweet and very prompt at answering my e-mails.

Your pics are great - I am so glad you liked Randy as we have him for our wedding in August too. Some really neat shots already.

Your reviews are very helpful - now I am scrared about our welcome dinner at Ohana's :scared1: Future SIL requested to eat there and I thought it would be good for our welcome.....ummm

Glad I did...
Sent my dress ahead of time to Carolyn Allens- It's so scary to send your dress away in a UPS box..but it alleviated so much stress from DH and I the day of traveling. They were amazing and confirmed that the dress arrived right away. I also insured the box with UPS in the slim chance that something happend.
Stayed at Port Orleans FQ- We had originally had reservations for Animal Kingdom Lodge, but decided to save ourselves over $1000 and it was nice because we were able to be with all of our guests..which turned out to be ALOT of fun. POFQ is beautiful as well!
Used Randy Chapman- I wavered back and forth but in the end he was one of the BEST decisions of the day!!
Glad we didn't have a dessert party- Another thing that I wanted to do while I was planning my day...but was so glad I did not because we had a 10am ceremony and by 9pm I was exhausted and fell asleep. We also had so much cake left over from the grooms cake and wedding cake that anymore sweets would have put us all in a coma.
Used Sea Breeze Point- The stress about rain was really high, but in the end we had one of the most gorgeous, dry days. It was simply perfect.
Wore pink heels- Despite them being 3inches and having to walk the entire boardwalk with them, I absolutely loved them and love the pictures where my shoes are showing! So if you are a little nervous about a bold shoe choice..I say go for it!! I got SOO many compliments on my shoes!!!

Wish I didn't...

-Put so much effort into the Welcome Bags I spend so much time shopping for the items in the bags and a ton of money shipping stuff down to Disney and I am not sure if they were even really utilized. I know that the bags I had designed for each guest were a huge hit and that they all used them the day of the wedding..but it was alot of unnecessary stress.
Use Rev. Tim- This one is really tough because he did his job, he married us. But I felt that he was crabby and did not go above and beyond. He really seemed frustrated or maybe he was just having a bad day, but I did not sense he wanted to be there. I wish this was one area that we spent a little more time on deciding who was perfect for us.
Use Ohana as our Welcome Dinner Location- Too much time wasted, not great service and the food was so, so. Now, Ohana for the Character Breakfast was amazing..we loved it..but dinner was not so good.

We checked in, found our room..then someone knocked on our door..it was my boxes that I had shipped down with all the welcome bag components! (I apologize..I still have no idea how to resize photos)

yayayay! I'm so glad you started! You look GORGEOUS! I love how you did your hair.

Even though you wish you didn't bother with the welcome bags I think they came out great! I would have been happy to get one. :thumbsup2

More more popcorn::

Great photos! You two seem like a really fun couple. I'm so glad you made a Glad I did/Wish I didn't list. They are so helpful!

Great welcome bags, even if they were a pain. Did you make the schedule hand out? It's really cute!
