Joe and Jennifer's DCL Vow Renewal PJ/TR~ CEREMONY FINALLY!!!

Now you have the whole day at CC and you don't have to worry about changing and getting everyone ready early in the morning. I think it would be great if you could do the ceremony and then go up to palo shortly after for dinner. As much as you hope/think it will rain, you don't want your beach day ruined either.

Congrats on having your cruise paid for - I am sure that alone takes a lot of stress off. I hope things get better for you guys! Assuming the boat isnt' sold out I am sure they will upgrade you. I think its a smart decision!

I want you to know that I totally understand where you're coming from in your current situation. I live in Flint, MI (the birthplace of General Motors) so I see this happening to our friends and family everyday.

Despite, the circumstances you are still getting your VR and as you mentioned you will be with all of your family which is the most important thing :bride: We will definitely keep our fingers crossed for lots of extra pixie dust!!

I was just down in your neck of the woods for my cousin's graduation. He graduated from a small college in Warsaw, so we were down near Fort Wayne over the weekend.

If you've managed to escape the economic crisis that has gripped our nation for the past 12 months, than consider yourself very very lucky. We haven't been so lucky. Dh and I are both pretty heavily tied to the automotive industry and our finances are a MESS right now! While I havn't been layed off yet.....things don't look good for my company. And even though Dh isn't in danger of being laid off, his work has dropped of drastically in the past 4 months. We're down about $800-1200 a month! No place at all for saving extra money for an expensive vacation. Time to be frugal and practical.....

The cruise itself was mostly paid for...just a small balance left due. So what we have done is drop from the balcony in Cat 6 down to a gty Cat 12. Hopefully we'll get a nice upgrade ( PLEASE pray for that, i'm so not looking forward to 3 days in an inside with 2 small children!) and most importantly....we've switched to the Deck 7 ceremony.:guilty: I am a little bummed about it.....it was my dream to have it right on the beach. But when you really think about it....the where and when are not what is important here. This is about family being together and celebrating what we have! So this is what we have done....and hopefully we'll get a great discount code or an awesome promo for the WDW stay and that will knock the price down for that.

I'm sorry all that economic stuff is happening to you two now. Blecch.:sad2: I will pray that you get an upgrade, and I'll report back if I see any codes come out! :grouphug:

I am so sorry about your situation.:hug:I completely know where you are coming from.

I have two jobs- one as a Realtor, and we know how that has been for the past year, and the other as a photographer. I do not get a steady paycheck, and the amount we bring in is diminshing monthly. It has gotten so bad, that I think that we might have to close the photo studio and run it from our home. -Which is not good for business. I am going to have to go out and get another job at this rate, if I am able to find one. I am hoping to teach in the fall since I graduate soon. But they have been letting teachers go too, so I don't know how it is possible.

I am glad that we have paid for all that we have. I know that you will still have a wonderful day! Let's hope and pray that things will get better soon.

Jen,
Sorry to hear this , but the good part is your still going. I wish you tons of pixie dust pixiedust: on your Cruise and Vow Renewal. It stinks that won't be on the beach but I'm sure the deck will beautiful as well. And you'll have your family and adorable children there too. I can completely relate to your situation. My DH is also in the auto business. He sells Infiniti, Porsche, Audi & Jaguar. Our monthly income is half right now with the economy :sad2: and now we have bills from buying necessities. If our trip wasn't paid for we wouldn't be going either, but this will be it for us for a long time.

Thanks girls! :lovestruc I did what no Bride is supposed to do...i had the entire day marked out in my head! :sad2: Everything was going to be perfect on the beach. But oh well... I'm actually over it right now. Stressing about the trip is the farthest thing from my mind right now actually. :lmao: It's stressing about grocerys now! :rotfl: JK.....it's not that bad...yet anyway.

So tonight is DD's Kindergarten graduation and program! OMG this year has just flew by!! I posted pics from her Preschool graduation at the begining of this PJ, and now here she is all done with kindergarten.

I sent in the deposit for my bouquet for the Epcot bridal shoot. That is for now still on the schedule since it doesn't have to be paid for until we actually take the shoot. Plus the bouquet was only $80 and I just love it! I may ask disney floral to substitute my bouquet from that package to some cake topper floral and maybe just a bunch of table decoration flowers instead. We'll see.......

That's a great idea!

Hey, have you seen these? It is a wrapper for a Hershey fun size candy bar. I found it on the DISigns board. I think I am going to print some out for our trip. I thought you could use it.

Jen- I know you will have the most amazing and sweet ceremony regardless of the location. I will be sneding lots of pixie dust your way for an upgrade.!!:goodvibes:hug::hug::cheer2:

I'm sorry to hear that but the important thing here is that the wedding is still on! Like you said, it really doesn't matter so much where....it's the reason behind why you're doing it. Things are going to turn around before too long anyway. The US just needed a reality check. Homes, Cars, and Gas prices got way out of control. I think the "bail outs" should be going to us if they're doing such a thing and the companies they should let fail. They're the ones who tricked the American people into spending beyond their means. :rolleyes1 Ugh! I just hate hearing that mess. An inside cabin won't be so bad. You wont be spending a whole lot of time in there anyway. :goodvibes But I do hope you get an upgrade too. :wizard:

Well just like Lisa said they would....DCL opened up some more Cat 12's last night and we were able to switch! YAY soo happy!! So that is taken care of. I think BFF will be a little bit upset when she finds out our cabins are not next to each other anymore (since she is a single) but she'll still be in the same area as my family so it'll be all good.

The more time passes, the more OK i am with the shipboard cereremony. It's just going to make eveything so much smoother. We won't have to re-dress in our fancy clothes after CC beach day like we originally would have for Palo dinner that night! Now we'lll just go from the ceremony on Deck 7 to feeding the kids, then off to Palo for the adult dinner! And everyone is going to be able to enjoy and relax on our last day! That in itself is a BIG plus for me! I was kind of bummed that i didn't do the land portion after the VR. Because we'll have the 5 days at WDW, then the cruise, and it was going to be the VR the last day of the trip! Now we will atleast have 1 "honeymoon" day to relax and unwind. So i'm all good now with the decision. It'll be perfect in my mind again!

So my next hurdle to overcome is finding clothing for Joey. There simply are no ivory shirts for little boys. So i'm either going to have to get White and dye it with Tea like Lisa and Betsy said to....or go with a different color like lite blue or yellow. I'd rather not do either of those options! :rotfl: I've also realized that i'm going to be spending a lot on his outfit too!! GESH! I also need to get Shoes for Joe now. Since we aren't on the beach anymore....we'll all need shoes.

Congrats on the switch:banana:. Glad you're feeling good about the on-board ceremony. When we were considering a DCLVR not having to get re-dressed and having a day to "chill" after the ceremony were selling points for going on-board for us too.

The relaxing day afterwards is really helping to soften the blow! :cloud9:

Hey there, I'm just catching up on things. I'm sorry things are tough financially, these really are difficult times.

That being said, it sounds like your plan will work out well- and maybe be even better than on the beach in the end. Pixie dust for your room upgrade too:)

You are right, and I remind myself of this too- the most important thing is us being together, and celebrating our love. The extras are just that, extras. You've got the right perspective on this! And that's the lesson you will give your children :goodvibes

Not sure how I missed your PJ, but I love all your plans for your VR. I'm living through all the DCL brides!

All your DIY projects are awesom, I love Lady and the Tramp, too cute.

I'm sorry to hear about your financial squeeze, DFi and I are definitely feeling it and we're getting married in Jan 2010, so I totally know how that goes. Just know we are all here with ya :wizard:

You're right, they must not make ivory shirts for little boys. However, what about a polo, not sure what type of shirt you were looking for, or how old your son is, but you may have a better shot with a polo. Or you good always do a pale pink :confused3 that could look cute.

Look forward to more updates!!

With less than 6 months until we leave for Disney, it's time to get started finishing all my projects! :lmao: I guess i can check off the Mickey Flip Flops, since the ceremony won't be in the sand anymore, i'm not wearing them. I'll stick with my bridal shoes instead. but now i have to find shoes for Dh. That's gonna be difficult, he's worse than a woman when it comes to shoes! ;)

As for ds's attire, i FINALLY found some shirts that may work, both at Old Navy and Baby Gap. Old Navy is out of his size (in white) and Baby Gap has some in Blue. I'd love to find a Pink one, since DD and I will both have Pink on, it just seems that Blue would look out of place. But if Blue is all i can find, than Blue it will be!! I'm sure pants will be rather easy. I have no idea about shoes for him though.....i don't know if I"ll be able to find some island style brown sandles in such a small size. Oh and I guess i need to work on shoes for Dd too! She'll love that! :thumbsup2

So i sat down last week and finally narrowed down all the song choices! I'm going to talk to my WP about 2-3 months before we sail, to have her check wtih the Piano Player and see if he'll need copies of anything besides the Country stuff. I don't know if he would know some of the more obscure Disney ones.

Prelude / Groom entrance - Little Wonders - Meet the Robinsons
Bridal Processional - Belle Notte - Lady and the Tramp
Sand Ceremony - You'll be in my Heart - Tarzan
Recessional - Ever Ever After - Enchanted

Cake Cutting - Electric Light Parade - Magic Kingdom
1st Dance - I thought I loved you Then - Brad Paisley

"reception" - From this Moment - Shania Twain
You're Still the One - Shania Twain
Living our Love Song - Jason Michael Carrol

I couldn't really come up with anything else for the Cake Cutting. :rotfl: Oh well, i like that song a lot!

I found out that we CAN use bio-degradable freeze dried rose petals on board, but Disney does not carry them, so i'll have to get them on my own. WOW! I'm sure that'll save a lot $$$$, since they wanted $135 to lightly cover the aisle. I'll get some for DD's basket, the aisle, and for rose petal cones. I've decided against the bubbles. I like the rose petals better! :thumbsup2

I also found out that they will not let me exchange the bouquet for the Rose Wand, boutineer for Ds and Fresh Floral topper. Boo! I've got my bouquet for the Epcot Shoot, figured i'd just use that on the ship too. Oh well. I may see if The Perfect Gift can do a rose wand.

And lastly i am waiting to hear back from Brie about the ceremony and how the Sand Ceremony will fit in. I think when Patty did her's last year, she said the Captain didn't do it, so they just did the sand after he was all finished. I don't want to just walk behind him after we kiss! I want it to actually be a part of the ceremony, not just an afterhought. So we'll see how that battle goes!

Bridal shops don't carry the color shirt you are looking for? I thought they could get anything.

I like your music choices. After all this you'll be able to plan Disney weddings for a living! I think all of the new plans sound great! Cat 12 will work out too. How often will you be in the room anyway?

I can not wait to read this trip report!!!!

Your song list looks great! YAY for getting things done! :thumbsup2

If you feel brave, you could always buy a white shirt and dye it pink.

Ha! Bridal shops have practically NOTHING for little boys. if you ain't looking for a tux, don't even bother!

But i did get the one from Old Navy! OMG it's perfect! Well, except that it's white and not ivory. But Betsy says i can make it ivory by using Tea. So we'll try that, it was only $14.50! And i got a super cute hawaiian print one, a pair of shorts and khaki pants! He'll be stylin!

I'll try and get pics tonight of his and Dh's outfit!
