Jodi's bridal journal (posts welcome) - I'm back!

Hi Jodi!
That workout schedule ROCKS! You are kicking some major butt!!

Like the others I will chime in... be sure and take a step back every once in a while and decide WHAT is worth stressing and sweating over. Sometimes we can get caught up on 1 tiny detail that no one would notice either way. Remember the BIG picture and think about what you will remember about your wedding and make those items important.

Just an example: my sister in law was freaked out weird about getting the bathrooms at the reception hall decorated. I mean FREAKING OUT. STRESSED to the Max!! I know the bathrooms weren't the prettiest. They were just bathrooms. She spent hours upon hours trying to find a way to decorate them and make sure they looked nice (and they did), but she missed the big picture. They didn't check to see if there were enough chairs for the number of guests invited, and MY FAMILY (yes - the GROOM's family) had nowhere to sit. Since we were all delayed for picture taking, we were the last to arrive. She is an only child, so just her parents needed a place to sit and her aunt had saved seats for them. We are a large family (5 kids plus spouses and children) and everyone assumed a place was saved for all of us. Nope. And no seats = no food.

Anyway, my point is... don't worry or stress about the little stuff. No one will remember if the ribbon is the exact right color, or if all the girls have the same earrings... They will notice the glowing beautiful bride and the beaming groom, joining their lives together in front of family and friends.

Now where did this soap box come from? How the heck did I get up here? A ladder? Can someone find me a ladder?? Whew... I am down, and slinking back to my journal.

Hi Jodi
I'm building quite a library of exercise tapes/dvds. I have the original TaeBo 4 tape set, The Method Precision Pilates, Crunch Salsa dance cardio, Crunch African/Brazillian dance cardio, GIAIM AM/PM Pilates and now the Firm 3-in-1 Total Body Sculpting. I love mixing them up. I just ordered TaeBo II and TaeBo upper/lower body workout. I can't wait for them to come. I find it an added bonus to get to watch Billy Banks while exercising!

But I think the gym is my favorite. Your schedule is awsome!

Sundie

Hi Tracy, Terry, Wilderness, Sundie, & Valerie, Thank you all so much for such positive comments - I so appreciate it! :grouphug:

My trainer session went really good - although I did go up six pounds (don't understand why). My trainer asked me what kind of timing am I on this month....I had totally forgotten that this week I was getting TOM, my trainer really calmed me down! That and she thinks that it is solid muscle gain on me too - she just didn't expect it this soon....I went down in body fat from 23.90% to 23%, so she is thrilled with the numbers. I know that my inches are going down but we didn't measure that yet! I'm so glad that my trainer knows me well enough to know that I have been going to the gym faithfully and that it isn't fat gain -I've worked with her a couple of years ago and she knows that my muscles build really fast.....I had the same problem then (she actually encouraged me at one point to compete). Oh well, not much longer until I hit my goal fat percentage of 21% Maybe I should give up on having a goal weight? I don't know....We will see what my next trainer session brings (the next session is January 15th @9:00am). My trainer said to not worry about the weight gain because some women do gain as much as 6 pounds during TOM.

This past Saturday we worked on legs, shoulders, hips, and stomach - now I can add onto my program! Last week I went to the gym a total of 5 times.....my goal is to be able to go 6 times per week - It won't happen this week because I didn't go yesterday and I try to stay away on Mondays at all costs! My DF went and he said that it was a madhouse. :earseek: Speaking of my DF - he is getting help with a diet and is going to start going to the gym reguarly again! He is now working on losing weight for the wedding too! :earboy2:

Well, I will keep everyone posted!!! Workouts and everything! Have a wonderful start to all of your New Years!

Wow - Hard to believe that I have been away from posting since last Saturday.....I've been keeping myself busy with going to the gym (not as much as I wanted) and just trying to find out information about Disney's new plans - We thought that we had it all figured out and then they go and change everything, oh well - change is good right? at least I hope so!

Still haven't decided on how to book our DisneyWorld honeymoon - maybe all of you can give opinions, should we book through - AAA?, DisneyTravel?, Book everything separate ourselves?......I also go on Deb's "AllEars.net" and she has a travel agency (I think) - has anyone used it? Any help would be great....There are just so many options, It kind of numbs the brain. :earseek:

Well, I am going to run for now - I will post later all of my gym journals (including today) - I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Jodi!
Wow - you are doing great with those workouts!!

About the Disney question... I guess the best answer is how involved do you like to be? We used a travel agent this time to book our rooms for the marathon, and I felt out of sorts with it. She did a FANTASTIC job - but when I wanted to change something, I had to go through her at the travel agency versus calling WDW myself. I guess I am a control freak? She was able to get us AP rates at POP Century when I could not.

Anyway, if you want the name of an excellent Disney travel specialist, just let me know and I will share it with you. I would use a travel specialist or go it yourself. AAA won't try and find better deals for you if/when lower rates are announced. Does that help?

Hi Terry,

That does help - and if you wouldn't mind could you share the travel specialist's number with me....We want to look into everything! Last time we went we booked through AAA and I thought that it was their job to find us the best deal but needless to say I felt jipped....this lady did nothing for us - we ended up paying a lot more for the airline tickets.

I feel the same way as you - I'm a little bit of a control freak too! :)

This past Sunday - we went to a bridal show that was held at the place that we will be having our ceremony/reception site - it was great!! My mom finally got to see it and I think was pretty impressed! I also won a bridal gown - I know, I already have one but maybe this one can be a back up incase I don't lose all of the weight that I want to but I doubt that will be a problem so I will probably sell it on eBay.

Looks like our engagement announcement finally might be making it into the newspaper.....If I can I will put a link to the newspaper's website - so everyone can see.

Well, I am going to run......It's getting late and I have to get up in the morning and go to work - everyone have a wonderful Friday and wonderful weekend.

Holy COW! Another person after the Workout Queen title! Soon the boards will be like visiting a Royal Court! princess: princess: princess:

I will pm the travel agent's info to you since I am unsure of the policy on the boards about that stuff. Check your box and keep up the good work!

BTW - congrats on that free dress!! :jumping4: If you don't LOVE it, I say EBAY it!! :teeth:

Thank you for the great compliment (workout queen) :)

Oh and thank you so much for the information about travel.....I so appreciate it! So many choices out there - it's so hard to decide.

Jodi

Hi Jodi!

Congratulations on winning the bridal gown! I know you already have yours, but you can always sell it on eBay and take the money with you on your honeymoon. When my DH and I went to a bridal show, I won a bottle of wine. :drinking1 Funny thing is that I was only 20 years old at the time and my DH made me wait until my 21st birthday to drink it.:)

You are doing a great job with your workouts! I hope that the scale cooperates for you.

Have a great weekend! :flower1:

Hi Jodistar
Your workouts are AWSOME!!!! Congrats on winning the gown. I know I'll see it on EBay 'cause Jodistar is going to be the WISH Buff Bride :cheer2:

I love your workout smilies!!!! They are adorable.

Keep up the great work and don't get discouraged if Bob's weight drops faster-- its just a fact of life that men lose faster :confused3

Sundie

First of all I would like to thank everyone for the positive comments - Sarahsmom, Wilderness, Sundie, Tracy, and Terry.....You are all the best cheerleaders :cheer2:

Trainer session went well - I went down a little bit more in body fat - last measure I was at 23% body fat....I am now at 22.50% body fat and the weight thing was a flook (sp?) I am now at 121.50.....the weigh in from the last time was clearly from TOM on his way. My trainer says that some women can gain up to 6 pounds right before TOM arrives. Oh and I am loosing inches too - they are coming off slowly but they are coming off....I have gone down a half inch in most body parts but an inch in the hips. :cloud9: I am so happy! My goal weight is 115 and my goal body fat is 21 (although I am thinking about switching that down to 19%). After that it is just maintenence! :cool1:

Boy is this a lot of work but I have to look like a million on my wedding day and during my honeymoon.....I would love to go to one of the water parks and be able to wear a bathing suit that I am proud of and a body that I'm proud of. My trainer is a really toughy but I love it and if I ever have any questions I can always call her! I would invite her to the wedding but her brother is getting married the same day.

Well, I guess that is it for now, I will post my workout later (from the session) I just really wanted to share all of the news first. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm950' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_17_206.gif' alt='Thumbs Up' border=0></a>
