Jodi's bridal journal (posts welcome) - I'm back!

Wow, today was really hectic. It took me an hour and half to get home tonight. I really don't feel like getting back in car and going to the gym but I have to. :p

I will update this post afterwards. I still haven't had the chance to really check in a lot of the journals, the server is always so busy.

I can't wait for this week to be over with. I am so ready for the weekend. :sunny: :sunny: Although I heard that the end of the week isn't supposed to be that nice out but hopefully it will clear up for the weekend.

I still haven't heard from the girl that I am doing the website for. I guess I will have to check in with her and see how things are going for her.

I haven't forgotten about all of you and updating my website. I've been doing it little by little. I hope to have a link up for all of you soon. :teeth:

Well, I guess I should leave for the gym now. Hopefully traffic has lightened up! : )

Gym update Well, I did make it to the gym; not as early as I would have liked to but I made it. Like I said traffic has been terrible this week. I guess it's because of the Pilot Pen tennis tournament that is going on in nearby New Haven.

Oh will back to the gym update:
Treadmill 20 minutes, weight loss setting, resistance 4
Arc Trainer- 15 minutes, weight loss setting, resistance 4
Cable pull backs- 30 lbs, 12 reps, 3 sets
Seated Peck- 30 lbs, 12 reps, 3 sets
Long pull (for the back) 40 lbs, 12 reps, 3 sets
Superset using 6 pounds free weights, 12 reps, 3 sets of:
Front raises, Lateral Raises, and Lunge

Incline press- 12 1/2 lbs, 12 reps, 3 sets
wide Chest Press- 25 lbs, 12 reps, 3 sets
Bicep Curl- 25 lbs, 12 reps, 3 sets

That's it! Not as much as I wanted to get done but an accomplishment. I'm debating on whether or not to take tomorrow off from the gym. My family is really starting to worry about me and thinks that I am going too much and that I have an eating disorder or something. They just don't get it! I just want to keep my weight down and maybe get down lower for my wedding.....I have a year to do it which will be just about right. :teeth:
 
Hello to all my fellow WISHers!!!

I have never been so tired as I am today. Just a very long week..... I decided not to go to the gym today- I kept up with my diet today.

Heard from the girl that I am doing the website for and it turns out that she has been just as busy as me this week. Work has just been really crazy.

I haven' t had the chance to check up on all of you but tried to keep up. I will get to the rest during the weekend.

Jodi, I'm glad to see that you're taking some days off from the gym here and there. Your exercise routine is very strenuous and your body truly needs the time to repair any muscle / joint / connective tissue damage from all that exertion. Remember the tortoise and the hare - slow and steady wins the race! ::yes::

I'm glad the wedding plans are coming along and your garter sounds very nice! Using those skills to help Cristina with her website will be great and also good for your resume! I can't wait to see what she does with your sneakers!! :p

Wow, what a week. I am so glad that I have the spa treatment to look forward to next week....I can't wait!

I got out of work late today....So much to do. I was exhausted but I did make it to the gym for 45 minutes of cardio.

Hi Everyone!

Went to the gym this morning to meet with my trainer. We worked on a diet plan for me....Actually it is just rearranging it! We also did a weigh in and measured fat.

The Results: Overall body fat- 23.4 % and 125 pounds. :rolleyes1

I am a little disappointed that my weight is up to 125 but I think the most of it is muscle. Anyway the fat is at the healthy stage.....I want to get it to the fit stage for that I will need to get down to 20%.....I still would like to see my weight go down a little though.

It's kind of amazing because we checked this against when I first started off at the gym five years ago (approx)....I was amazed to find out that my body fat is actually a lot less than at that time (mind you I was mostly off of the plan for a year and a half)....When I first started I was at a very unhealthy 28.7%

I can't wait until I start to see more results though, although other people are saying that I am really skinny....I still see the chubby girl in the mirror that I grew up with. I know that is something that I have to work through....I can't wait to feel better about myself.

Those are wonderful goals and you are definately on your way to achieving them ::yes:: ! I'm sure hearing your numbers was encouraging (just remember that the number on the scale is not nearly as important as the changes you are noticing -- although I would be jumping for joy to see 125 on my scale :teeth: ). I hope you have a nice weekend :sunny: !

In reality I know that 125 is a good weight but when you look at those diet books with the charts they say that 125 for a women that is 5 1' is overweight but I guess they really don't take in account muscle...Even my trainer says that I am mostly muscle :) She said to me how small do you want to be in kind of a concerned tone....So I guess I am pushing it a little. I guess to be healthy or fit is better than being a certain weight.:guilty:

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! ::yes:: I can't believe the summer is pretty much over....It flew!

Anyhow, my exercise for today:
Treadmill- 20 minutes, Weight loss setting, Resistance 4
Crossramp- 20 minutes, glute setting, restistance 1
Arc Trainer- 15 minutes, weight loss setting, resistance 4

Superset of Plate Loaded Squat (160 pounds, 15 reps), Shoulder press (9 lbs) 3 sets

Superset of prone leg curl (45 pounds) and Shoulder shrugs (20 pounds- 10 pounds in each hand) 12 reps, 3 sets

Calf raise- 35 pounds, 12 reps, 3 sets

Stomach cable pull- 70 pounds (for resistance) 12 reps, 1 set....65 pounds 12 reps, 3 sets,.

That is pretty much it....I was pretty much tapped when I left the gym.

I didn't get as much done as I would have liked to while at the gym but I am going back on Tuesday to work out again....I would go tomorrow but I am getting together with a friend after work tomorrow.
 
Hi Ladies.....

I didn't get to the gym today...I probably won't until Wednesday (Unfortunately).

I got together with a friend from a previous job and tomorrow, my DF is bringing me out to dinner for our 6 year anniversary of our first date. :) I can't wait! It's at a restaurant that I haven't been to for years but have wanted to.

That restaurant is beautiful. Six years together- that is wonderful. The anniversary of DH and my first date was last week (Aug 27) It was 16 years ago. We both forgot to mention anything about it- sad but true. We are a very unromantic couple. It's okay with me, though. We have a good time together.

The resturant is very beautiful. My DH and I have our dating anniversery on Halloweeen, so kinda hard to forget that one (17yrs this halloween). Just wanted to stop by with a big HI and good luck today.

I had such a wonderful time last night.....I wish it didn't have to end. My DF and I have decided to make that our special occassion place- we might go back to celebrate my birthday (December 23). I over ate but it was worth every minute of it besides TOM is coming.....another bad one coming. :( I've been way too emotional this week.

This friday....I can't wait though- I am going for my massage and facial.:cool1:

I am going to the gym today but only doing cardio.....I feel kind of sick to my stomach.....I always feel this way before he comes.

I haven't gotten to check everyone else's journals....hopefully by the end of the week.

I did go on a different diet today....I am cutting the carbs back just for 2 weeks and then my trainer and I will be changing the diet as needed.

I am so glad you had a good time at the resturant. It looked so pretty in the picture. Carb diets are not that fun so sending you some extra strength for the next 2wks.

Thanks for such warm wishes - Tracy, Mary and Kristin....I hope all is well with all of you (I haven't had the chance to check in with your journals yet).

This week flew (thank god). Tomorrow is my massage finally. I can't wait! Today, Tom came but I should be okay for tomorrow.

Today, I finally got another medication for the acne breakout on my face. It's so depressing I had used these two medications for about two months now and nothing really happened, pray for me that this one works, I have engagement pictures to worry about next month.

I haven't really gotten to the gym this week but I will get back to it soon. I was going to go to the gym today but my cramps were so bad all day that I decided it would be best to just relax today. Hopefully, I will be able to wake up early in the morning and go (not sure that it will happen though). 8:30 in the morning I will be bringing in my car for service and then 11:00 I am going for massage so I don't know if it is doable for me to go the gym and I'm not going after my massage that kind of defeats the whole purpose.

I might not get to the gym until Saturday morning....but I am doing well with my diet....Woo hoo!!!:rotfl:

I will do my best to check in on all of you guys tonight.....I am going to relax a bit now.... I am just really not feeling all that great thanks to you know who.
 
Today is the day ladies. I can't wait only a few hours away from my massage. While I am there I am going to see if they are open on my B-day.....If they are, I will make an appointment for that day (I'm so close to the holidays and everything always seems to be closed- December 23 is my date).

The massage and facial was to die for. I am so relaxed now! I wish I could do this more often but what a treat. I also decided that today, since I am really not going anywhere I would go next door to the massage place and get some wine. I ended up getting my favorite wine....by DiGrazzia Vineyards "Harvest Spice"...Me and my mother ended up having a couple of glasses together. God, I just needed to feel this relaxed....I've been so stressed out. My father's birthday would have been in about a week and although he has passed away more than a year now....I have still had a very hard time sleeping and getting over his death. That and my new job....sometimes I don't feel like I do a good enough job and now my mother was forced into retirement...that happens the end of November so things haven't been easy.....I just really needed this time.

I feel like such a loser.

Anyhow, back to the gym tomorrow.... can't wait!
 
This whole cutting out the carbs is way too hard for me. I've been trying hard and while I am usually not able to cut out the carbs, I have been able to cut them down. I've stayed away from breads, etc. but I am not a fan of this stuff. :mad:

Once again, I didn't make it to the gym yesterday but will go today. :eek: Yesterday turned into a pretty busy day of going to look at bridesmaids dresses. We went to two different places.

First we went to Josie Bridal and the staff was wonderful there. While they were busy they were still really good to us...We spent close to an hour and a half looking at dresses and trying on dresses. However, the second place Marie Antoinette's was terrible. My bridesmaids and I had gone in said we had an appointment to try on bridesmaids dresses...They said "Oh, okay pick out the dresses and you can hang the dresses on the outside of the closet area." We picked out a lot of dresses and thought well we better start to try on and with no one there to help us out we found one of the dressing rooms and quickly got shooed out and told that we have to go in another dressing room because there is a bride that is going in there. Meanwhile they offered no help to move us. So bridesmaids and I had moved the dresses and started to try on the dresses...They again offered no help. They actually had the nerve, while we were on our way out the door, to ask us if there was anything that they can help us with? Well, they were of no help at all....Why would I let them help us now - We were ignored for a good hour. They also wanted to know if there was anything that we were interested in and I just said oh, we will continue to look. The nerve of these places!

Oh, my god that was so long. I'm sorry I just needed to vent.

Back from the gym.....I only did cardio. I am still not feeling that well between Tom and the meds that I am taking to control my breakout on my face. I just started to feel sick towards the end of the workout. Tomorrow the gym is open.....I hope to get a better workout then.
