Jodi Arias Trial Part 8 EXTREME CRUELTY: PROVEN

Penalty phase...what will the jury decide? (1 day poll!)

  • Death

  • Life (judge will sentence within 60 days, LWOP or Parole in 25 years)

  • No unanimous decision...new penalty phase jury will be empaneled.

Results are only viewable after voting.
I think that particular juror saw the abuse in the texts and sex tape and not in Jodi's testimony, but what the hell is the Arias' family dysfunction?

Didn't JA say he mom hit her with a wooden spoon?

I personally believe dysfunction can be found in any family. It depends on what each person/family considers normal for them. But that's just my opinion

The only time I ever got called for jury duty was for a different county than the one I live in. I sent them a note back stating that.

Only bit I saw of the Zimmerman pre-trial stuff was some sort of motions while I was waiting on getting my car worked on. And finding out it needs MORE work done. Fortunately, BIL can do all of it, except for the alignment after needing new struts.

Late 60's in high school, I had to have special permission from my parents for the principal to give me licks, I grew up to be a cop.

And yes, I agree with you, dysfunction can be found in any family, especially if a teenager is relating that "dysfunction." Reading Jodi's journals was like reading a teen's diary and she was well into her 20's. :crazy2:

I don't know why this juror continues to give interviews, his newsworthiness is over.

We had a wonderful time. Funny story - DH and I went to breakfast at Serendipity 3 (At Caesars where we were staying). Anyway, it was busy, so we decided to eat at the bar. The bartender was wonderful. So we get these really big cups of coffee and order breakfast. It's about 11 am. All of a sudden the bartender keeps putting small glasses of frozen cocktails in front of me. People were ordering frozen drinks, and when there was extra in the blender, I ended up with a glass. Next thing I know, it 11.45 I'm buzzed and having brain freezes, drinking coffee in between. I never left breakfast snockered before, but there's a first time for everything.:lmao:

You must be really excited about Disney! Hope you all have a wonderful time!

The days of the stilettos! I remember them well! I remember the wanna be cop and I still believe it to be true of Zim.

It gets hot here, so having the trial on in the background is sometimes a good distraction. However summer rolling in means more and more thunderstorms, so I hope I don't lose connections during key testimony.

Regardless of the verdict, I do hope calmer heads prevail and people remain peaceful.
Glad you had a great time. We are going in August. Did you try the new buffet in Caesars? I can't wait to try it. Also the Imperial Palace is updated with a new name. I can't wait to go.

DH and I are wanting to do Vegas for our anniversary in April. DH's mom will watch C. I love Vegas!

So glad to see Seacrat found guilty... never watched youtube stuff, just what is posted on HLN. Was waiting on the forensic evidence of the suicide letter to make a 100% determination though I more than knew he was guilty.

I had a feeling yesterday while watching coverage that was talking about him putting the boys in the car seats after the fact of the fire that he actually put them in the car first then shot his wife and set the house on fire.

I love it to. So exciting to see the new things.

Everybody talking about Vegas makes me sad. I went with such a dud and was asleep by 7:30 each day while there. Makes me think I should probably try again with somebody worth going with.

Also, why are there so many trials going on right now? Are some of these recent incidents? Or have they been sitting around for quite a while awaiting trial.

Remus- Did you say you went to school in the 60s???? I was thinking you were in your early 30s!

Me too.

Hey, if you ever get called for jury duty and they ask you about social media give us a shout out, the DIS Bandwidth Wasters. ;)

ETA: Zimmerman back on.
I have always wanted to be called for duty (although in our rural, boring county, it sure wouldn't be exciting!) but never have. DH has been called 2 x. DD has been called once.

If you want people to leave you alone, you don't keep giving interviews.

That was quite the exclusive. ;)

To ME, the abuse is the only one I would have even considered as a mitigating factor, if I truly believed it.

No kidding, you do it because they slaughtered the man.
Bahahahahaha:rotfl2:

Is THIS dysfunctional??? (uh oh.....)

YES! You should. LOVE Vegas. But been a few years since I have been there. I really want DH to go with me next time... he's never been.

I hope you have a great time in August, and win lots of money!

We did try the buffet at Caesars. It's called Bacchanal, and it was great. I'm not usually a buffet person, but there were so many choices. They had several different themes- Asian, Italian, Mediterranean, noodle station, salads galore, pizza, a huge carving station, and a seafood station. There were also many types of veggie and potato choices, as well as desserts.

I had the best greek salad, and they also had feta with watermelon, which I love! I had a baked ziti dish with spicy sausage, and boy was it spicy, but delicious. Had the prime rib! It was huge and yummy. I ate about half of it. DH ate a bunch of stuff and loved everything.

I'm not a seafood eater, but the shrimp and the crab legs were incredibly popular, as well as the oysters. The people next to us loved their lamb chops.

For dessert I was stuffed so I tried a chocolate covered strawberry and a small piece of carrot cake both were yummy.

It was pricey, $45 pp plus tax and gratuity. The price covers water, soft drinks, and coffee and tea, but liquor is extra.

It was hot when we were there, hit 103 each day, which is about 8-10 degrees above normal.

Where are you staying?

Welcome back from Vegas, Oreo! :goodvibes

Remus, I hope you and Jen have a fantastic time in WDW! Eat a couple of Mickey bars for me. :teeth:

I tuned in to Zimmerman today ... but only for a minute. :rolleyes1

Oh, I wish! My wife is in her early 30's and I'm uh, that other number up there. :rotfl:

I will and Jen's gonna have a few of those blue drinks for ya! ;)

That's what she says. :thumbsup2

So I'm picking 39. :teeth:

That's your story and you're sticking to it, right? :thumbsup2

My parents were either 14 or 16 years apart (I'm trying to remember :scratchin) and they made it work, so age has never really been a big deal to me.
