In defense (again) of the friend not showing her face...being on Dateline and being shown in a court of law are two different things. There are probably more people watching the court proceedings than some random Dateline show. She's in less control in the courtroom, as she is subject to cross-examination by Juan Martinez. It's LIVE, not a recorded show. She's sitting in front of the victim's family. Sitting one on one with an interviewer for a recorded Dateline (if that's what it was...I don't remember watching it) is a whole lot different than winging it in a courtroom with Juan Martinez, the victim's family, and having it live-streamed. JMHO

Cannot believe I sat around waiting just to be told it's a "no go" for today.

Man this trail is such a freaking delay fest. 10 to 1 this is a ploy to stall and let the impact of the victims statements fade, so the people talking in the Monster's behave have any impact at all.

I have never heard of so many delays in a trial before. This should have kept going.

and regardless of the actual reason WHY the mom is not testifying (juan would then refer to moms tape with police...not good for the murderer at all)

I think it works against the murderer that no family even ...........thinks she is worth testifying for.

Yeah, anyone who testifies in this phase can still be cross-examined. So what does her mother say on the stand? That she beat the crap out of her daughter just because she was an abusive mother? Or that the reason she hit Jodi was because Jodi was a miserable uncontrollable nightmare to live with? There's no good place that her testimony can go (IMHO). I think when the DT put forth their case, they did it expecting not to get 1st degree, and therefore, not expecting the mother to even need to take the stand.

On HLN, someone said that Jodi can make a statement, like the Alexander siblings did...stand at the podium and speak to the jury. OR she can go back on the witness stand, which would open her up to cross-examination by JM again? Not sure I got that right. (I half pay attention. )

If this is true, I would imagine she would stand at the podium and speak to the jury. She wouldn't want Juan to cross again (at least I don't think she would).

I can't imagine the gall and balls of it all. The victims family had to endure talking in front of their brother's murderer, and did it on time, when they were scheduled and with extreme dignity. They are truly showing who Travis was through their own actions.

The jurors must want to go bonkers on it all! I am not sure I would have the patience for it. I would be so outraged and disgusted. I am ashamed to say I would have thrown a chair by now and gotten myself tossed in the pokey!

On another side note, and trust me, once you get to know me, you will come to terms with how "squirrel" I can be........ Would it friggin kill Numnuts Nurmi to SIT up at least once during a very impactful time? Really? Not even for the victims family? Really? Finger sniffing still? GAWD it boils me.

Just catching some of NG and they're showing clips from today. And I was thinking about Jodi's hair. I wonder if that was a calculated move (isn't everything?) to give the jury a good view of how distraught she is over the pain and suffering of Travis' family. Piece of trash.

Also, I went to the Jodi Arias is Innocent website. Holy cow, those are some sickos over there. As scary as it is to think of all the murderous monsters like Jodi Arias there are out there, it's as frightening that there's slime out there like those on that website.

I want to say thanks to everyone for all the great updates. We are at Disney (got here Monday) until the 24th so this is how I am getting updated on what is going on.

If I can't watch you all are the next best thing too it.

Wow, those people are really crazy on that site. Of course, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It would take some real fruitcakes to back her to start with, I guess.

And, yes, I suspect her look is calculated as well. It's entirely possible that reality is setting in, but it's more likely that she knows this is nowhere near the end and that this will drag on through the appellate courts so she's just working every angle that she can at this point. Her nerve and gall know no bounds.
