Jodi Arias Trial Part 6, starting with JM Rebuttal April 16

I feel exactly the same. I feel like I spend more time talking about this trial than I do ANYTHING else.

I know my family will be happy when it is over :)

You wanna take the vow with me now?:

I, say your name, do hereby pledge under no damn circumstances will I watch the Trayvon Martin case on livestream.

:rotfl:

Between June and November, I would prefer November because of the weather. DH and I have two trips planned, but both are long weekends, one is in October for F&W and the other is in December for the christmas spirit!

We are going to Las Vegas in the beginning of June and it will be hot, but we'll be busy gambling, boozing and other non mentionables!lol!

:rotfl2:

I've told you this before and I'll tell you again, I'm so damn jealous!! :goodvibes

What's a few crazy flight attendants when you can have free snacks, beverages, first bag, and leather seats with DirectTV! Seriously, DH and I are such creatures of habit and we know how to DO SWA, so I hope we still use them. And when their flight attendants are funny, it's great for a laugh. But if we have to switch to JetBlue, I'm glad to hear good things about them!We were at BWV for F&W last October and it was wonderful. We sampled all but one or two dishes. We barely ate anywhere else. I'm so mad we didn't plan sooner for this October, but we were up in the air about a couple of things. It's going to be difficult to get anything DVC, much less Epcot resort area. TMI, but DH's stomach problem wasn't vomiting. So there was no way we could stay on the plane if there were going to be times he couldn't get up out of his seat. And by the time we got on the plane, he felt weak and faint too. They had to take him off in a wheelchair. It was horrible at the time, but we do have fun reminiscing about it! :rotfl:Oh geez. Thanks for the unfulfilled craving! But don't worry about me ;)...enjoy! I agree! I wake up on Monday mornings (or for this week, Tuesday) thinking "Ugh...the trial." I can't stop watching now, but I so want it to be over!

About the verdict...DGD just left, so I went back to watching HLN, and this is what Jingasaurus said at the point where I left off:

"I think even manslaughter may go to the jury. It's never used here I understand but there is a heat of passion manslaughter. So I think one question is will the defense ask for that and will the judge give that."

Oh my!! Bless his heart, I feel so bad for him. Thank goodness, he got off the plane! :rotfl:

I agree. What I would want to say to that jury would be to picture their daughter crawling around naked, trying to get away from the man stabbing her, slashing her throat and putting a bullet in her head. Just sayin'.

Definitely!!! :thumbsup2

And please, I hope the jury doesn't go with some heat of passion excuse, that's why it's so important the State stress the premeditation.

Right now, the only thing I want to think about the verdict is that the jury has common sense and will do the right thing. I very much doubt she will walk.

quick hello...my you folks have talked up a storm this weekend:cool1:

The photo posted was Hysterical.....the sentencing info appreciated and interesting...
I think the dp and someone that I thought believes in it (overall) changed there mind during this trial and said they could not sentence her to death....I was a bit taken aback actually,,,,was told that they no longer would give the dp after seeing her day after day.....(so perhaps that familiarity thing really IS a huge factor for some>>)
anyhow, Glad this person is not on the jury ..just say'n

Will Catch up again during the week! :wave2:

Oh geez, no way am I going to watch that. In general, I've got Live Trial Syndrome, but that trial is going to be intense. Nope. I'm getting back to real life, if I remember what that is. :confused3

I agree. ::yes::
You all have been chatty this weekend! 5 pages? :faint:

I wonder if the jury feels familiar with her or numb to her. She's not very likable, IMHO. I think those police interrogation tapes (which I have on now from HLN on Friday...multi-tasking ;)) paint her as a sympathetic figure. She seems sweet. Crazy, but sweet. No? :confused3

Thanks for sharing. I think the jury's verdict will be 1st degree. I'm concerned about the sentencing phase, and for some reason I believe it will be LWOP. I do think if Arias was a man, there would be no compassion regarding the sentence, but I think as a society we have a much harder time sentencing a woman to DP. My own view is that Arias deserves the DP.

This. ^

Anyone watching the Hallmark Special tonight? Let me just say, it involves a man's hippocampus. I just can't get away from thinking of this trial.

My first post, on the first thread...my, how much we've learned since Jan 2.

Jodi Arias Murder Trial
Not as big as Casey Anthony, but interesting nonetheless. Just started a few minutes ago, in Arizona. She allegedly shot her boyfriend, stabbed him 27 times, and slit his throat. She's cute and sweet sounding, but a lot of his friends/family were not at all surprised that she could do something like that. And there are pictures allegedly taken, before and after the crime, and possibly pictures somehow got taken DURING? :confused3

I just returned from WDW last week and YES they do carry HLN :) ... I was so happy because I got to watch the trial when we went back to our resort for a rest in the afternoon ... And with HLN's "pause" it worked out pretty well because I didn't miss much of what had already happened ... oh, and btw, the in -room WIFI was also working pretty well that I could also watch via live streaming on my iPad too :) ... And of course, my DIS buddies on this thread kept me up to date too :thumbsup2 ...

ETA - our plane on the way home had DirectTV and I was able to watch the trial on HLN on that too :goodvibes ... Yes, I know - I am a bit addicted to this trial and I need an intervention ;) ...

Thank you and everyone else that replied to my question! While I seriously doubt I will be watching during the day, I will have my iPad in case we are resort bound due to storms, etc I will be able to catch up at night because we are traveling with my 4 yr old granddaughter who will crash around 8:00 p.m.

I am watching the Menendez brothers. The jurors took pity on them and gave them LWOP and removed the DP. Now I am not trying to shake anyone up. But I don't think they were molested.

What a difference a few months make. It's hard to believe it's the end of April and the trial is STILL going on. The defense sure knows how to stretch a minute into an hour.

At least they got LWOP. I'll take that for Jodi. Anything less than that, I don't agree with.

Ever hear for the calendar "The 365 Stupidest Things Ever Said"? I gave one to my husband YEARS ago for Christmas, and have been doing so annually since. It's a page-a-day calendar, so he rips them out and brings them home for me, a stack at a time. This exchange will definitely make it in there:

Willie: So when somebody's not alive, you can't get any information from them. Is that what you mean?
DeMarte: From them directly? That's correct, because they're not alive.

Good Morning Mare

Yes, this could possibly go down as the best quote of this trial.
Possibly of Willie's career.......

Okay, now this might have some credibility:

@michaelbkiefer 21 Apr
I'm hearing a .25 caliber gun was found near Hoover Dam, where Jodi says she disposed of hers, and authorities are checking it out.

I saw this all over FB at the end of last week but the source was a gossip blog topix.com and some said it was giving a virus and not to click on it.

The post stated:
the gun was loaded, minus one bullet... it was wrapped heavily in paper and also toilet paper that was mostly washed away from it..it was wedged under a large thorny cactus. The man found it after a gust of wind blew a 20 dollar bill from his hand and into the cactus ... not far from the hoover dam in Arizona. It is the same calabar used to shoot travis. It was found over a year ago, but the man who found it ... watched some of the trial,.. and he thinks that it may be the gun jodi used. He works with my brother-in-law... and my brother-in-law was with him the day it was found. He turned it over to the department this morning and it is possible that it could belong to jodi's grandpa. This could be very big news! has anyone any info on this???

Its pretty remarkable if this is the gun.
But we will still never know if it is really Grandpa's gun, because I really doubt anyone in her family is going to tell the truth about it.

I saw all that on that particular FB, blew it off until I saw it on Kiefer's tweets. And I think that FB post was out right before the emergency hearing last Friday so I wonder if there's a connection. Hopefully, Kiefer or some other reputable source can get more info on this.

Wonder if the State would accept a LWOP plea agreement if it's true?

The State doesn't need them to testify about it, a ballistics test would be the evidence.

Would be awesome if someone did find it and its true :thumbsup2
