I take a day off, and you all go crazy posting. Had a lot to catch up on!

My pain is in my Boston. I cannot stop watching CNN.

Moved to CA 5 years ago but Boston is my city, my hometown, my family is all there and we still have our home there. Evil has reined its ugly nasty head on my Beantown. It just sickens me that all this is going on there. So much pain for all those wonderful families dealing with loss of life and injuries.

It must be so hard watching all this go down. My DD lived there for a year, and I'm so glad she's not living there now...I can't imagine what I would have felt. Last time I "did" Boston was years ago, with Dan Murphy!

We are safe. The basement has water. DH said "do NOT look down there". LOL.

Ugh. I hope it's not too bad.

The dr did say, that she thinks the baby will be here sooner rather than later although anything is possible.... I would love to have a verdict first though.

Unfortunately the one about Gus and who was in the car, we may never know, as the judge promised it would be locked away. It may have been sealed along with jurors notes and then be destroyed...dang...

I don't understand what the big deal was about this, because Gus went on HLN and explained (not that I believe him...he's so smarmy) that he was serving papers to someone or something, or she was someone who was a client? So then why was he so secretive on the stand? But I don't know if he mentioned her name publicly. However, if the hearing was sealed and will never be released and he knew that, he could say anything publicly. And he would. Man, that guy is so creepy.

We'll always have these boards to help remind us. Well at least I hope they'll be around.

Suspected rebuttal witness list - Cancun PPL, Gas Station in SLC, Walmart, Det. Robert Brown

In law, the rebuttal is a form of evidence that is presented to contradict or nullify other evidence that has been presented by an adverse party.

Wonder if the DT is fighting the info about Jodi being on the list first to go to Cancun with Travis, and then Travis changing it to Mimi. Has it ever been brought up before? I don't think so. I remember Nurmi asking and Jodi testifying about Cancun, and that she could afford to go anytime (didn't have to be that trip) and that she didn't go to Travis' on the 4th to try to convince Travis to take her, and that it would take time to plan a trip out of the country. (Altho, I don't know why...she had a passport.) What DIDN'T come out before in testimony was the change in plans that PPL has on record.

Do we know when the change was made from Jodi to Mimi? Sometime in April, I think. Then May 10, Jodi makes that sex tape. I think at some point, she threatened him with it, hence the hostile emails/texts from Travis May 26th (?), then Jodie starts to put her plan in place...gun stolen on May 28th. After that, Jodi had to get back into Travis' good graces, apologized left and right, told him she didn't really make a tape, etc.

I don't wish he was dead. I am hoping that he will recover and be interrogated - we might learn important information. Were he and his brother acting alone, or are there others involved who should be arrested?

The judge would've had to allow it right then and there. Before the jurors questions. I don't think JW can do a rebuttal at this point. Only way she could now is if it was part of the jurors questions. I'm guessing there is still cross and recross on those? If so, I bet she'll try to sneak them in.

I posted that. And that is if only the judge allows it. A few pages back, I posted the procedures of the AZ courts for criminal cases. I don't how the process works, but my assumption is that the judge would have to allow it right away. So far this judge hasn't.

Again, "right away" relative to what? I'm confused.

My RI son has a million Boston friends and they were all freaked to stay in Beantown so on Monday he and his gf put a FB note out to all of them to come to PROVI, he and Kait will pick them up from the train station and anyone at all can stay with them. AND that is exactly what happened. So he has been hosting all his BEANTOWN friends through this ordeal. (Mare, he lives in Waverly Square in a huge 3 decker.)

Mare, are you aware of that missing Brown U student? Well he has been missing since March (I believe) and for a fleeting moment some suspected HE might have been one of the bombers. Very sad, that he is still missing.

With all these big tragedies, the one good thing that comes out of them is the overwhelming kindness of others. I think it's wonderful what your son did! I'm sure everyone was grateful to get out of Boston and have a friendly place to go.

I am aware of that Brown University student and that he was something of a suspect. I can't imagine having a child missing.

I have a feeling we're all going to be around for a while. Not just for the actual trial, but Jodi's going to stay in the news, one way or another.

I think what I read is that a surrebuttal would need to be filed during the rebuttal. They can not file once the rebuttal is over.

That would make sense, since once the rebuttal is over, they go into closing arguments. The rebuttal is still going on, so we'll see.

It might be rare to file one, or it might be rare to approve one, but I think if the DT feels they have something to rebut, I can definitely seeing them trying. But then, I can see them doing anything and everything to drag this on.

I thought the only computer expert talked about was the one with the reflection in the eye, and he's not going to testify. Unless, like you say, it is Det Brown.

I was pretty shocked about the different rules from a known terrorist to a murderer like JA!

I just thought everyone was read their rights but I guess not!

The woman who spoke at the press conference after the suspect's capture (she's an AG or DA, can't remember which) said that there is an exception to the reading of the Miranda Rights when there is a direct threat to the public safety (or some words to that effect).

I don't see what all the hooplah is about - gunfire was exchanged, so obviously they have cause to arrest him. The fact that he was seriously wounded also must allow for some form of the 'deathbed confession" exception, if he said anything incriminating anyway.

Oohhhh. Yeah, that sounds interesting. Would love to know too...such a cast of characters in this case.

WDW trips? Both of them? Oh, we have a name for people who go twice in a year, and it's not nice. Oops! What I meant to say is...I'm so happy for you! And I'd say November...that was our preferred time to go (Thanksgiving morning till Sunday, Universal, then a week out of school for WDW), and then our kids decided their education was more important. Damn kids. Finally got to F&W this past October (now that we're empty nesters)...that whole period of time is great. June I could do without...did a few Augusts when the kids got older. I melt in the heat...it's not pretty. Have fun planning! We're waitlisted for October. Have to take a look at that...DH did it, and I think he needs help with it.

Does anyone know who Jubin is?

Jubin is just an innocent co-worker of Gus Searcy's that was in the car w Gus. He was trying to protect her name from being made public as she was afraid of the damage it would cause her career. Mr. Hughes was way up in the chain of command with PPL and Hughes was mad that one of his older texts reprimanding TA was going to be used sort of out of context and would be helpful to the DT. Hughes wasn't/isn't a Gus fan because Gus is a JA fan. Jubin was afraid if Hughs found out she was with Gus that day Hughes would probably wreck her career.
