Jodi Arias Trial Part 2, starting with JM cross of JA

There was no recross. I might have used that word. Nurmi continued with redirect and the judge allowed JM to ask a few questions about the makeup/missing pages of her journal and some highlighted passages.

Watching JVM and she has a former co-worker of Jodi's "Veronica" who said: "The only thing missing here is the rabbit in the pot. She was so absolutely engrossed with him, if she could not get him on that telephone before going into work she would not go into work. She had to know where he was, what he was doing, everything. She ran the show. She was the manipulator here not him. She was going after him, running after him, I would tell her "Jodi, leave him alone! Stop throwing yourself at him, if you really want this man, what are you doing!" And she'd say "I've got to go get him Veronica, I'm going to be with him forever, we're going to have a family together." She would leave work at the end of the night sometimes, at 11:00 we'd get out, she'd drive over there, straight to Arizona! Five hours, after working a shift."

This woman believes it was ALL about the Cancun trip that threw her into a tizzy, Travis going with another woman, and believes it was all premeditated. That Jodi went to Travis' prepared, she knew what she was going to do but she was going to give him a chance.

Per Veronica, Jodi had a flat affect; "she could be so far deep in trouble at work and not blink an eye."

Re: phone sex tapes...he led her down a spiritual path and she led him down a path of hedonism. (Veronica's opinion.)

Veronica was never called as a witness, and doesn't want to be.

Here is my post from Saturday morning after I spent Friday night watching DATELINE and AC360!
OK, those scenes with JA in jail singing that XMAS carol. (In which I think it was BK that said she won some jail 'idol' contest.) She looked at total peace to me that I believe after watching this trial, so many specials on this trial and so many authorities discussing the murder that JA planned this for a long long long time.

JA was totally and beyond scorned. JA made the decision that if SHE cannot have him that NO ONE will have him EVEN if it means that she kill him and spend the rest of her life in jail and her peace will come because she knows that NO ONE will ever be with him EVER.

I mean piece that with her smugness on the stand and her boldness in some of the tv interviews where she proclaims her innocence. I mean that whole YOGA stretch in the police station. And her other postures with her knees crunched up on the chair as Det. Flores is talking to her. She is not remorseful at all.

Hey MARE, do you think a NEW thread should be started?

If JM gets to recross tomorrow we may all be posting machines!!!!

Recross is totally up to the judge.

I don't know if I said it, If I did sorry, he was allowed to question, but it was a huge blow. I don't know why on JVm, and Nancy they haven't replayed it.

Oh hey, no worries. :flower3: I just thought, of all the times he actually wants dinner early or on time, it had to be today!

I never went back to catch up on what I missed over the weekend. Had my FIL's memorial service, so it was a nice but somewhat draining time with DH's family.

I've wondered about Jodi premeditating Travis' murder, because I do believe it was premeditated, but then what happens with the thought process. Doesn't someone HAVE TO consider they might get caught? But I think you're right. Altho I believe she held out hope she wouldn't get caught, she had one thing and only one thing on her mind...NO ONE else was going to have Travis, and whatever came after that, well, that's just the way it was. Because my question to Jodi Arias would be "So Jodes, was it really worth it to you?" And I truly believe she would say "Yes".

I've got the next thread all set to go...just have to press "submit". I'll do it tomorrow when we're in the 240s on this thread, hopefully at some sort of good break in the conversation.

Thanks, Mare, you are the bestest!!!!

My mistake, it was a person in the audience. I don't know if I can post this persons age. But holy cow.

I'd like to to to thank you all for chatting so much during this trial. I am now working 10 hour days and can't watch or follow most of it..you guys cover just as much as the recaps do. '

My take on Jodi is 100 % pre meditated. She is just like CA..her stories all have a shred of truth in them but she works it around in her head and makes her stories up.

My scenario over the murder: She stabbed him and he crouched over (the line backer position) and yes, he did lunge in her direction to try and get the knife away from her..so quite possibly they did both end up on the floor at that point. She continues to now slash and stab while he is grabbing at her and yelling and calling her names...he was grabbing at her to get her to stop and yes, he most likely did call her a name or two while he was being killed. When she shot him (in the face) I can see her saying "let's see how the other girls like your face now...no one but me will love you" I really think she thought shooting him in the face would destroy it and with that no one else would ever find him attractive.

I really really hope this jury has more brains than the one in Florida had.

This gave me chills. Because she's so crazy and sick I would believe it.

So apparently (according to Jean Casarez) when JA got in to the court room, she lowered her chair, significantly, to be lower than her attorney's but then she demonstrated the arm around the shoulder from the picture regarding the bent finger and she is clearly much taller than the female attorney..

Also JA's hands are quite large if you ask me..

Never thought about her hand size, interesting. She lowered that chair in front of everyone

Yep, just like in the CA case, they want the jury to think she is very small and incapable physically of what she is charged with. There are pictures of the chairs and hers is at least 5 inches lower that the female attorney's.

I don't think the jury saw it only because they have her set up in the witness box each day before they are brought in to the courtroom.

I know about making her smaller than the other people next to her, just did not realize her hands were big. I am wondering about that pic on her phone. How do we know it was her phone or her hand. I would think the job would have sent her to the Dr.

Regarding jury questions (from Jinga on NG):

The questions allowed (discussed by the judge and the attorneys, ultimately decided by and asked by the judge)...have to be relevant, can't require a hearsay answer, and then either side can ask supplemental questions to the jury's questions.

Regarding recross:

It's up to the judge to allow or not. I can't imagine that she wouldn't, esp in light of new evidence (the injured finger picture, the compilation of clips from the phone sex, altho I think that's not considered NEW evidence...just presented in a different way ALTHO it has it's own evidence number).

I didn't catch all the testimony or anything Nurmi said about the finger picture, but is there independent proof of a time stamp for when it was taken? Wasn't it from her cell phone? And seriously, she took a picture of THAT finger and not the one when Travis kicked her? Or is that against the Laws of Attraction?

Um...Brian Carr, Jodes' weekly visitor, said on Nancy Grace that he believes there is no way that Jodi could have carried out the crime and that her SECOND STORY is true.

??????

He needs to be put away somewhere too...I think he's a danger to himself. I mean, what if he believes that a red light means "go"?
