They may have been appalled. They probably wished they did not have to hear that phone call. They may also be thinking this could be one of their grandchildren on a phone call like that.
My (in her 70s) Mother would have had a fit. I don't dare listen to this stuff if she is around.
She locked the bedroom door, turned up the A/C, closed the gate so the dog couldn't go upstairs, cleaned up.. Remembered to turn off her cell phone so it couldn't ping her locations as she drove, threw away key evidence, made calls to friends to set up alibis and so on and so on.. :sad2:
Yes, she did. Had the brains to do all of that to set up her alibi. No fog while that was happening.

I was soooo disgusted when CA got off.... If this one goes free, my faith in the judicial system will be gone.

Just trying to think rationally about this.

IF you killed someone in self defense...... wouldn't you call 911 and say "I was being attacked and I think I killed him."

You wouldn't hide everything and make an elaborate plan to make it look like you were no where around......

I am listening to her from yesterday and when she is talking about the checkpoint at Hoover Dam.

Apparently you cannot carry a firearm across the Hoover Dam. She had to know exactly what she was doing.
So she had to of gotten rid of the gun at that point.

You are correct you can not carry a fire arm across the dam. So I guess the fog lifted enough to remember that. The other thing I am curious about is when she stopped at that gas station, did no one see her? She changed her clothes. She had to walk to the bathroom. And she threw stuff away in the dumpster. Unless of course that is all a lie as well.

And also took the time to put the camera in the washer.

The fact that she outed herself as being in jail during the trial is not grounds for a mistrial, IMHO. Otherwise, every single defendant would scream, "I'm in jail during this trial" during every single trial. You can't use something like that to derail your own case. If a witness or the prosecution does it, that's another matter.

As for why Travis kept opening his door to her......Well, DH discussed this trial yesterday with a male coworker who is, shall we say, popular with the ladies. That guy said the psychos are frequently also freaky in bed, so to speak. He said your brain tells to you just walk away due to the crazy part of the equation and find a normal sane woman, but your body keeps taking the psychos back due to what I term the "crazy monkey sex."

That is, until you take them back one time too many........

I said something very similar a week or two back.. I hope that the jury has at least some common sense and don't get blasted by one or 2 strong-willed and ignorant to what is right in front of them types which is what I think happened with the CA trial. That one girl with the brown hair seemed to be the ring leader for that acquittal and even after all was said and done she STILL thought there wasn't enough evidence.

I don't think it would have done JM any good to show her all the crime photos and go over every single wound with her. That's more Travis' family would have to endure, plus I think she was prepped and shown all those photos by the defense team anyway.

Agreed.
Hopefully THIS jury will not be in a hurry to be "done" and can actually LOOK at the evidence (which is substantial in this trial).

I still say the totality of the jury summons went to The Pinellas County Home for Mental Defectives and that is where the jury came from. It is the only explanation.

That is why she was thinking about forensics. So there would be no trail to her. That way no questions to answer. Go on living your life with the secret. She also knows and her attorneys as well, she has no real alibi's for the killing in self defense. Nothing in writing. No police reports, nothing. I wonder if back then if the prosecution could have made her go get her finger an xray. Jodi also knew she was in way over her head trying to defend herself when she thought those forged letters would help her. Then she decided to tell the judge she was in over her head and needed counsel. Jodi is not that smart.

All this back talk and smart alec answers is not helping her any. I truly believe this jury can see right through her and does not believe any of it.

Like the crazies that were camped out outside for seats in the courtroom that ended up fighting and cursing at each other. At least the Alexander family doesn't have THAT to deal with on top of everything else.

Older people will have more common sense. The CA jury I have my own opinion. :sad2:

I am eternally grateful that I didn't have a mouth full of food or liquid when I read this or my laptop would be toast! :rotfl2:

I do hope the jury sees right thru her. She is a nut job.

I don't know if they showed them doing the jury selection, but I am betting that Juan wanted the older folks and defense wanted younger ones. But it had to be a compromise. But I think the older folks may be able to show common sense to anyone younger what is BS.

I do believe you are correct. :thumbsup2

Unless they all walk in and agree that the verdict is the same and know that they all think alike.

I don't think it's grounds for a mistrial, but I do think if she's convicted (which I pray she is), it could possibly be grounds for a turnover of the conviction on appeal. The defense can say it prejudiced the jury.

Jodi blurted that out on her own. Did any one notice the look on her attorneys face after she said that? Or the judge for that matter?

I didn't. I was so shocked that she said it, followed by JM's reaction to it, that I just sat here kind of stunned.
