Even if you had the knowledge/experience and the pay was good, what jobs or careers would you never want?

For me it would be, no offense to anyone, most jobs that require physical contact, such as hair dresser and dentist, actually many types of doctors.
Anything involved in high open spaces - window washer, construction, bridge painter.

Pretty much anything Mike Rowe does on Dirty Jobs.

Other than that, school bus driver. Never. :scared1:

School bus driver, unless I had an aid to watch the kids while I drove.

Nothing that requires heavy lifting
Nothing working outside
Nothing working at a funeral home or a morgue

Nothing in direct customer service. I hope to never have to be a waitress or bank teller again!

anything dealing with raw meat - like a butcher or in a meat packing plant or something. yuck!!!!

Working in a call center. Unfortunately, that's what I'm doing right now and I HATE it!

I couldn't work in the medical field either. Ewww.

I don't think I could work in the fast food industry either.

Thanks to Dirty Jobs I have seen more jobs that I am unwilling to ever do :scared1:

I think I'd do just about any job. I worked at a QuikTrip for a few years in high school, and after cleaning those bathrooms and dealing with those customers, I think I can handle anything. :scared:

No manual labor, no waitressing, no bartending, nothing where you have to do anything dirty, nothing in the medical field (and I say that coming from a long line of medical workers ). Nothing working with numbers.

Oh my WORD! What does that leave me??? :lmao:

At the moment - receptionist. I am having a slight issue right now with the (temp) job at which I work. I applied, interviewed, and was hired for "document control." The paperwork I signed specified "document control" and the duties involved. But now, after 2 months, they are pushing for me to learn the receptionist's job. I have NEVER had a job in which I even had a phone at my desk. I don't even answer the phone (or the door) at home. I am NOT a greeter. I am NOT a waitress (the receptionist here is expected to take lunch orders from other employees, call them in, then serve them when they are delivered) and I am NOT a travel agent (she is also expected to make airline, hotel, and rental car reservations for anyone who goes out on a business trip or comes in from our sister company in CA).

"dirty jobs" -- anything presented on that show. My stomach only tolerates so much "ick".

Phlebotomist--I've slowly been getting better about my needle phobia--I have had some success watching an injection on tv--but IRL, too touch and go and passing out probably isn't a good pre-requisite for that job.

Heights related jobs as someone above posted--bridge painting, window watching, power poll/cable person

Anythign involving lots of electricity.

Any job that involves searching through Fresh Kills Landfill on a hot summer day!

I've actually thought about doing crime scene clean up!

For me, anything in an office, behind a desk, in a cubicle. I want to be busy and dirty. :rotfl2:

Customer service. No waitressing, etc. I don't like people enough. :upsidedow

we always threaten DS with this:

'They save the Port-a- John jobs for kids who drop out of high school, and we're not talking the driver of the delivery truck" so I'm thinking that's a no..

Anything having to do with dead people (embalming, funeral, etc) or with people who might die while I was with them (hospice, emt, etc)

Anything physically dangerous to me (firefighter, lineman, bridge painter, etc)

Lower grades elementary teacher - I have worked with kindergartners/1st graders and I know in my heart of hearts that I cannot handle them. Older kids I love, babies I adore... something about 4-5-6-7 year olds make me want to tear my hair out.

Collections. NO WAY.

Anything that makes me be outside to work when it is cold out. Ick - been there, done that.

Also, I could not work with the mentally handicapped. This includes elderly with dementia. This is completely a personal failing of mine, and I admit it, but I am just too uncomfortable. I couldn't give them the care they deserve.
