Does anyone know how one would find management opportunities at the Disney Resorts? I looked at the website and all I see are hourly positions. I'm interested in rooms management (front office, housekeeping, guest services etc...). I wonder if there is an email address I could send my resume to?

It's almost unheard of for Disney to hire managers from outside, almost everyone is hired from within (unless it's upper management) - you have to work your way up from hourly. They usually don't even post managment positions on external job sites, everything is posted internally. There aren't any websites to email resumes to, you could always go into the Casting Center on property and talk to someone there but they mainly deal with hourly positions.

You could try going to www.disneycareers.com to see what's posted, sometimes external jobs a little higher up are posted on there.

Are you in school or a recent graduate? They have managment internships that are a good way to get started - they are posted on the website I posted too.

Try calling them about it-they may have some answers.
I'm sure the number is somewhere on the website.

I don't have a degree but I have been in hospitality management for about 8 years. Right now with a Worldwide chain at a 4 star hotel....I would love to work at Disney. I could remain with my current chain and transfer but I would love to also have the perks of working with Disney! I make a good salary....can't sacrifice that right now to go hourly, it's taken me too long to get where I am and hubby just lost his job recently.

I know...can't have my cake and eat it too..... LOL

Thank you

I don't know of any management CMs that didn't start at the bottom and work up. Unless you are in a field that is highly specialized, it's unlikely for Disney to hire outside of the company for management positions. (and it's not easy to move up)

ETA: If you are relocating to Orlando, you could always work your FT job and see if they are hiring seasonally. That will give you some of the perks but allow you to work a FT job that will pay the bills.

The managers I knew at the Disney resorts (I worked concierge) made less than $40k a year for lots of hours. Are you making more than that now?

This may have changed in more recent years, but I know at one point they would not consider any management candidates that did not have a Bachelors Degree. Anyone know if that is still the case? They were one of the few employers who would not look at experience in lieu of a degree...

According to my friend who is in the management internship, this is the case.

Yes, I am blessed to say I am. Thanks so much for the info! I think I'll just keep waiting for a transfer opp with my current chain....and if we do move within the next year at least I can get the FL resident discount!

I think you have to get pretty high in senior management to make good money and they stay there for years. Unlike everyone else that moves around every few months!
