Ok had an interview last week I was super exited for. I prepped, wore my best suit, and arrived 10 minutes early ready for the interview. I was told to sit down in the waiting room (very rudely I might add) and left there for 40 minutes. The lady came back out and told me there had been a mix up with HR and that I was not the person she had wanted to interview, it was someone with a similar name to mine and she knew when she saw me I was not the person she intended, she must have known the other girl somehow. I asked if she would at least like to see my resume which she snatched out of my hand as she was ushering me into the elevator. I was pretty dowtrodden when I left. Bummer.

Fast forward to Friday, I get a call from the same HR person asking me to come in for the same interview. I explained what had happened and she insisted that I was IN FACT the person she wanted to interview this time. I called and spoke with the director (the rude lady) just to be sure. She wanted me to come in, said the other girl had not worked out and she wanted to see me.

Against EVERY instinct and red flag, I went in for the interview today and guess what?! The lady never showed up, and when called, she had FORGOTTEN she scheduled the interview with me today. Another hour in that stupid waiting room.

She left me a message demanding I come in tomorrow. I am not planning to show up. I know it is wrong, but well, enough is enough. Ugh. I have to work tomorrow. No way would I want this buffoon as my boss.

:scared1::scared1:

Good call on not showing up. I would find out who her boss is and call THAT person and let them know why you are not showing up for the interview :thumbsup2

I definitely wouldn't go. Good call. What a bunch of rude, arrogant, and totally unprofessional folks. I wouldn't want to work there for anything.

If it's a larger company in which there are departments this lady has nothing to do with, you might want to call the person at HR to tell her you are not interested in THIS job but that you want to keep your application active for jobs in other departments.

I also would definitely not go, and I think contacting someone higher up in the organization to let them know how unprofessionally you have been treated is a good idea.

I'd also be sending them an invoice for my time.......:rolleyes1
(seriously.....I would)

Do you want a job? At the very least you get more experience with an interview.

But why would she risk her current job for an interview experience?

Time is money, and she'll be getting paid tomorrow. Current job would trump putting up with an idiot like that.

Oh my word. I would be LIVID. Kudos to you even going back the 2nd time.

Unless I was unemployed and down to my last dollar, I would not go there for the 3rd time either!

Best of luck to you in your job search.

What kind of experience could she get interviewing with someone who has no professionalism?

To the OP, sorry you had to go through that...I think you are making the right decision not to waste any more time with these people. If this is how they act during the interview process, I can only imagine the insanity of actually working for them.

A couple of years ago I went on an interview for a job, and the whole thing just seemed "off". It was just a feeling I got that something was not "right". I was offered and accepted the job, despite my feelings. It turned out to be horrendous. Luckily, I was able to quit.

Yeah, these people sound nuts...so I wouldn't waste another second with them.

Wow, demanded? What the heck did she say???? It sounds like she is on a power trip knowing the state of the job market? I agree, I would not go either.

As much as interviewees are reminded to be professionals, I encountered many interviewers last spring & summer that could use reminders as well. I think she did you a favor by not remembering so you would not be tempted to work there! Unless it is such a big co. that you wouldn't deal with her after employment.

I would definitely not go in either. I would, however, return the phone call and tell them you will not be coming and politely explain to the woman why that is. She needs to know that what she is doing is not acceptable behavior, and not the best way to get a good candidate in the position either!
