This is a really good point. Nobody likes to think that they could be in limbo for so long, but it does happen.
My plan going into this has been to give it about 6 months to find the right job and the reasses after that as by then it may be more important to show something.
I saw a post above that you have more than six months of living expenses saved up. That is good.
But what the other posters have been recommending (cut now) is a good idea because it can take more than six months to find a job, depending on the field that you are in.
It's good to cut out extras that you don't need now so you won't miss them later. Save the funds for later.
