I am in the process of applying and interviewing for a new job. I have never had to fill this part out before on an application. Not sure if it's because I'm in the medical field and salaries are pretty much set, not much room for negotiation when starting. Salaries can differ a lot depending on which area you work in. I had worked in a private office which does not pay as well as hospital/skilled facility. This particular job would be in a large Rehabilitation facility. Should I put what I think the salary would be??

Yes. And then write after it: "with regular salary reviews"

Good luck!:)

Hi! Does the application require you to note previous salaries?
If so you may easily request at least the same amount as your past employment. Negotiable is easy to put in that space too.

I have always used "negotiable" as well. Depending I will have put a salary range in and then that after, or just written that as well. Good luck!

"Negotiable" is good. Then during the interview, when the salary comes up, ask for what the range is in the area in which you will be working. It's always good to get as much information as possible before making a decision such as this.

Best of luck!

I would recommend putting "negotiable" as well. You don't want to lessen your chances by putting down a salary that is below or above the actual range for the job. It's much better to get into salary discussions after they discover how wonderful you are and how much they want to hire you. ;)

Yup, put negotiable. We always toss the ones that have specific salary requirements on them.

Uh... I'm a hiring manager, and I always request salary requirements be sent in along with a resume. If not listed, I will discard. If a salary requirement is listed as a requirement, you need to at least list a minimum or an acceptable range in order to not be disqualified for failure to follow instructions.
