We have a 9am flight from JFK to MCO on a weekday morning.

We are staying in Times Square. What time should we head to the airport?

We had a time from a limo company that said we should have pickup at 8am I thought that it was about an hour from Times Square to JFK by car, so that means we would arrive as our flight was leaving.

I would like to be there at least an hour before the flight (is that enough time to check in and get through security?)

So would really love some advise from New Yorkers or those who travel out of NY as to how much time to allow to the airport and how long before the flight we should be there.

That limo company is giving you very bad advice! A pick up at 8 am for a 9 am flight guarantees you will miss your flight.

The travel time can take as long as an hour. If I were you, I would ask for a pick up at 6:30 am at the latest.

Or, you might want to consider staying at a hotel near JFK that night so you don't have to get up so early. The hotel will likely be cheaper as well.
