Jingle Bell Jingle BAM Show at DHS with Dessert Party Details POST 8

The times went back to 9pm for the show for Thanksgiving week, but they did change Dec. 16th from 7:30pm to 7:45pm for the show
Here's the updated schedule to reflect the change, this info is also on post #8
NOVEMBER 20 THROUGH 26 8pm, show at 9pm
Thank goodness. Now I wish I could retract all the panicky emails I sent to my TA, the Mom's Panel, etc. ;-)

Looking at the schedule online, it looks like they pushed nov 16 back to 9:00. Is that older info then what is posted here or is it now 9:00 again?

that was last week's, the new one came out today
Jingle Bell,Jingle Bam Holiday Party Dessert Party 1630 1900 Great Movie Ride 250
That's concerning as we have a 6 YO girl and 12 YO boy (not only is he short for his age but has sensory issues) and booked this so the kids could see the show without being pushed around like the curbs at the parade. Also how will 250 people be able to get through a M&G line in the 1 hour the party time?

This is a good question. Re reading the posts it says
A very special character will also be on hand to meet and mingle with dessert party guests
Maybe the characters will just walk around the tables and stop for a brief moment to take a quick pic. No way there's time for a proper meet and greet
The Stormtroopers walk around the party area but don't neccesarily stop and pose with everyone. The Stormtroopers were never part of the party though

It'll probably be similar to how the SW characters roamed through the Rebels' Backlot Express.

A normal fast-moving meet and greet usually is set for 150 guests or so within an hour's time.

I don't know how many guests are accommodated on the Pirates & Pals cruise, but they get everyone through Hook & Smee's line in an hour. Probably not 250 though.....

@yulilin3 and @FastPasser sorry I doubted - actually I didn't realize that info (# of attendees) had come from you originally or I wouldn't have doubted. I do very much appreciate all of the info you provide us on these boards:)

No worries, never take anything said as a sure thing, not even when it comes straight from Disney, we know they can and have changed things after announcing them, it's good to doubt and ask questions

I've booked this for our December trip and never having done a dessert party - ever - despite all my trips - please answer whatever question appeals to you - lol!

1) My 14 year old has a severe nut allergy. Will the desserts be the enjoy life cookie type thing which he does not like?

2) Our party starts at 5:45pm - so what do you suggest about dinner? Eating a brunch/breakfast around 10am and book a dinner somewhere for 3:30pm? Or eat dinner after all those desserts? I have free dining btw with one TS meal a day.

3) "Typically" - is the viewing area such that you can just chill and see the fireworks without having to get some sort of "spot"? I'm likely in an ECV for this trip (both knees are terrible and need replacing) - so my #1 reason for booking this is really to see the show without much jockeying for a view. I don't have to be on the front line - I just want to see them and not have to save a spot 4 hours ahead.

1) When you get to the party let the CM know about the allergy and they will call the chef for you. He/She will walk you through the options and also they have a dedicated kitchen where they make additional goodies for allergies. In the past thy have had little cakes, and also Enjoy Life cookies and chocolate. This was the allergy box from he Osborne dessert party last year

2. We usually fill up with the dessert party, so we don't eat anything after. We have a light lunch about 4 hours before the party to take advantage of all that is offered.
3. If you are on a ECV you will have a dedicated viewing location reserved for wheelchairs and ecv, no need to worry about that. Your family can also be with you This is what the SW dessert viewing area looks like, it should be the same spot for this party. This entire area is the dessert party viewing, the empty spacee is reserved for wheelchairs (BTW they took down that tree )

Looking for the pics of the allergy products I remembered I had the album for the Osborne Dessert Party, here it is, the desserts might look like this. It's hard to see Osborne pics :( today, one year ago they turned on for their last season

Thanks for all the info and pics - just what I was looking for! Hmmm....well I know from looking that what's in that box compared to all the other goodies will frustrate him. Of course sometimes the chefs will tell him the items are ok (like many of the desserts at Chef Mickeys) because he can eat "made in a facility" just not "may contain" so it's hard to judge. At least I can prepare him for what it could be. The info for the ECV is helpful too. I sure agree with you on the Osborne lights - those were absolutely magical. Disney needs to find a way to redo that - perhaps in time.
