Are the ones they give out normally the paper ones or hard rimmed?

for the party? it'll probably be paper ones. That was what they gave out last year and years before that for the lights

Will the ones sold in stores make the same effects as the ones from the party? i.e. If the party glasses turn lights into Mickey heads will the ones from Lowes show Mickey heads too?

The design is unique to the glasses.

Basically, there is a design etched in the lenses that disperse the light into a shape. Last year for the Osborne Lights, they gave out a pair that creates angels.

The set currently at Lowes has stars, penguins, candy canes, santa, reindeer, and snowmen

Look like I will be going to Lowes! We are going to the party but my dd has her heart set on candy canes and since we can't be sure that can happen I will have a backup in my bag. Not a big deal really if she got a different set of glasses but why not - plus we will definitely use them at other times during the season and I can bring some for our New Years trip as well.

Found my old MGM ones .... they are angels, not Mickey.

They really need these at Disney Springs for these drone lights, it will make it so much cooler.

Vintage I have these as well, we put them next to our tree every year so people visiting can see the effect
