Jimmy Neutron opening

Does anyone know when Jimmy Neutron is scheduled to open? We're going at the end of August..will we be able to see it?

Seems we wil be able to see Shrek...Is Kong definitely closed already?

Kong is definitely closed.

I don't know anything definite on the other's though. They both say Spring 2003 in the Unofficial WDW book so hopefully they'll be there by August!!

Yes, it'll be open unless something crazy happens... such as a heard of caribu breaking lose and destroying the theatre... or other assorted stuff like that, mainly involving hoards of destructive animals.

Yeah, Rocketman. If any animals do destroy it they will probably be sent from Disney's Animal Kingdom to oust the competition!

Is Jimmy going to be a movie like Shrek or is it a new ride?

It is a simulator attraction with the same system as Hanna Barbera. It has small 2 bench cars with a single lapbar in 1 large theatre.

I've noticed Robvia has mentioned it specifically in a couple of threads as if he's ridden it...so I wondered what the deal was.

No, I haven't ridden it yet and don't think it's open.
I mention the future name knowing the ride will be the same as before. The differance is new fiberglass (seats) to sit on. This was confirmed by Earl in posts last year. Therefore, I talk about it in the future sense using the new name.

Ah, well you had ME confused!!!

I guess with respect to feeling queasy or whatever, I would imagine 2 different movies, even with the same type of motion seats could affect a person differently...I would think that what is ON the screen would have some bearing on the sickness factor...?

Thanks for clearing it up, I know living here, I would have THOUGHT I would know when they are having soft openings, but I figured, you mentioned riding it more than once, so I'd ask.

Sorry if this is a question already answered, but which park will Jimmy Neutron be in? And also, what type of a ride is it? I read that it will be like Hannah Barbera, but I don't know what that was!

It is a motion simulator ride that will be in Universal Studios.

According to my brother who works at USF(and spoke to the Tech in charge of Neutron), Jimmy Neutron is set to open April 5th.

I hope Jimmy and Kong are opened for my Honeymoon Stay in May. We will be in disney For 7 days and Universal for 5 nights. We will be staying at the all star movies and the hard rock hotel. I got the Hard Rock for 125.00 a night because of the web sight.
