Initial reviews are, well, less than good. In fact, it sounded like the queue area was the brunt of the design effort(s). If this thread needs to move to Universal forum, please do. Sorry.

Yea it'll get moved to the Universal area. I'm interested in checking it out and have my fingers crossed I get tickets to one of his Tonight Show tapings when he's in the park next month. On the waitlist for 3 out of 4 of the shows

Saw same thing.

DS was just down and did Kong. Said the same thing, great queues but the ride .......... nothing but a ride through movie and a great animatronic. He said he wonders if Fast and Furious will be the same.

Yes, as fully expected, more of a jimmy k fan. Disgruntled Twister fan will file it under "what were they thinking?". Ah well, something for everybody I suppose.

Kong on the other hand turned out differently, but certainly enjoyable. Have ridden many times. Different sort of experience each trip depending on where you are seated IMO

Have a feeling the one avatar ride will be of same vein, wave of the future it seems.

My son did it yesterday during his lunch break, he said the queue was great but the ride is like Star tours, it was fun but not to the point of wanting to do it again and again.

OT was that you in the newsletter re SWW? Pretty sweet comparison

so can someone explain to me exactly how a soft opening works and who gets to experience the ride before the official opening?

When you see a sign in that area of the ride, get in line

Anyone in the area can do the ride during this trial run period

I've done soft openings over the years

Just have to be in the right place at the time

With Twitter, someone usually will state soft openings are happening and many will go to the ride

I'm honestly not surprised with the reviews. As much as I like Jimmy Fallon the idea of "racing with him in New York" doesn't seem like an amazing ride that will turn into a classic that will make a lasting impression for years to come! I was severely disappointed from day one at the reveal of what was to replace Twister, as it made no much sense to me as to why they would put the time and effort into something like this, as it doesn't seem like a blockbuster thriller, as well as the fact that shows and pop culture references always change.

Considering how the previous attractions were basically just shows, I did not expect much from the attraction, and knew it was going to be what people are describing. This ride will either not last, or they will let it stick around for awhile and age just to keep advertising for NBC.

I may sound harsh, but considering the reviews, for all I know I might go on the ride and enjoy it a little bit. Might actually be a good thing. As with Kong there was so much hype, I got disappointed, maybe the opposite will happen since people are so harsh with this ride and I'll enjoy it more than I thought I would. It might be a pleasant experience, but as for being shocked and awed, I doubt it.

I want them to do something similar to FJ again. They may have screens involved, but at least most of the time it's constructed sets and puppeteer like work.

I wonder if it will be open for HHN. Anything to help eat some people at HHN is a good thing.

The whole pre-show and virtual queue is unique and fun,I enjoyed the ride but it is what it is,another simulator based ride, there's nothing bad about it,its a fun little ride its just not a groundbreaking.
