I'm honestly not surprised with the reviews. As much as I like Jimmy Fallon the idea of "racing with him in New York" doesn't seem like an amazing ride that will turn into a classic that will make a lasting impression for years to come! I was severely disappointed from day one at the reveal of what was to replace Twister, as it made no much sense to me as to why they would put the time and effort into something like this, as it doesn't seem like a blockbuster thriller, as well as the fact that shows and pop culture references always change.
Considering how the previous attractions were basically just shows, I did not expect much from the attraction, and knew it was going to be what people are describing. This ride will either not last, or they will let it stick around for awhile and age just to keep advertising for NBC.
I may sound harsh, but considering the reviews, for all I know I might go on the ride and enjoy it a little bit. Might actually be a good thing. As with Kong there was so much hype, I got disappointed, maybe the opposite will happen since people are so harsh with this ride and I'll enjoy it more than I thought I would. It might be a pleasant experience, but as for being shocked and awed, I doubt it.
I want them to do something similar to FJ again. They may have screens involved, but at least most of the time it's constructed sets and puppeteer like work.
