Jim Hill denied entrance to stockholders meeting

Maybe the point of not letting him in was one more seat for an actual stockholder.

Except that wasn't the reason... they told him the reason was the WSJ piece.

Unless of course he is lieing.

Evelyn should have been shut up earlier other shareholdres lost their chance to ask question because of her 40 years of experiance rants.

Oh but that would have made the meeting more about the business at hand wouldn't have it?

Evelyn was a raving lynitic plugging her apperance on CNBC meeting.

As of Jim Hill. IMHO If they had chosen not to grant him press credentials it would have been fine, the claim of his page as Press is thin but if they are going to give him the credentials then let him in.

Nice little punctuation on the petty nature of management and to be honest it was stupic 'cause Jim has more to write about now.

Jim Hill is a member of the so-called "press" as much as anyone else who was at the meeting with a press badge. Or does someone have to be from the NYT(the home of Jayson blair) to be a anointed member of the press. Disney may not like it but just as many people get their news from the internet than from the so-called mainstream press.
This was the height of petty "BS" that eisner and his cronies are well-known for and another example why him and mitchell need to be gotten rid of before they destory what was a great company.
And yes, disney did censor Mr Hill be refusing him entry to the meeting when they earlier did issue him his press info. But like most thinmgs they do now, it blue up[ in their faces, and rightly so!!!

I'll have my DS set me up an on-line newsgroup site and expect to get press passes to the Super Bowl, March Madness, Daytona 500 and any event with Anna Kornacova.

The point is that he was given press clearance and then it was pulled because he did something they didn't like. I'm sure that there are plenty of press people that you or I or George W Bush or whoever don't like but they are normally still allowed access. It's petty at best to stick their tongues out and basically say that they don't want to play with him any more which is how this came across in my opinion.

Jim hill is thrilled to death they didn't let him in.
Truer words were never spoken. He can write about this until the next board meeting. (And he likely will.)

"Uh, Zurg ...
.. got your message the first time:-)"

Opps Sorry, wasn't doing an Evylin intentionally.

I think that people around here are often a little too hard on Jim Hill. Sure, he's writing his opinions, but so are the thousands if not millions of other opinion column writers out there. You may not agree with what he says about Disney, and you may not believe the rumors he posts, but it's his website and his opinion. Everyone has the right to say whatever they wish. I personally like Jim's site, not because I take it as the 100% truth and final word on Disney, but as another perspective from a person who is not Eisner or Disney. As a former CM, I recognize many of the things he and his guests talk about as being true, at least in my experience. The new "cast member corner" is especially interesting. Just because some people don't like him does not mean that he isn't a member of the press; a lot of people get their information online, and a lot of people read his website. Sure he's excited about being kept out of the meeting, I would consider it some kind of honor to be the only press member seen as that much of a threat to the company. If Disney was attempting to make him illegitimate by kicking him out, they made him more ligitimate by taking the time to single him out.
In conclusion, just take what he says with a grain of salt, you may not like it, but he has every right to say it.

He said in his article that he did have a "Plan B" but by the time Disney told him they were pulling his credentials, it was too late to get in touch with anyone who could take him in as their guest.

knwviking, if you ccan get press passes in the manner you mentioned more power to you. But the reality is that Jim Hill was issued a press pass which was pulled at the last minute in a clear attempt to censor him.
I doubt he would have wanted to spend the money and time to go to Phila. if he knew he would be denied entrance. He isnt living off a fancy expense account like the disney execs. at the meeting!!!
Unlike mitchell/eisner and his handpicked cronies he paid his own way to attend.

Cost of gas and tolls to drive down to Philadelphia: $40.00

Cost of room (per room) at Sheraton Society Hill Hotel: $68.00

Being told -- at the very last moment -- that you were being denied press access to Disney's annual shareholder meeting: Priceless.

(From a publicity point of view, anyway )

JIM HILL

Exactly...and this is in keeping with ME's MO.

What is priceless is the low levels that eisner will go to to try to spite those who speakout against him and the way the eisner cronies will defend his obscene actions!!!!!!!!!!!
