Jillian and Michael's Disney DREAM Wedding PJ

Thanks guys! I guess I feel that because of the lack of "customizable" options for DCL weddings (choose from these few flower arrangements, pick your songs from this list, and here's your 4 cake options) is why I'm plunging into so many DIY projects for my guests! I will make this as uniquely "us" as possible, if it's the last thing I do! :lmao:

My *new* project is Pixie Dust! (as if I need any new projects!!!) My mom put the idea in my head, and I found very small clear acrylic screw-top containers the other day in the jewelry section, I'm sure they're meant for organizing seed beads or something... but they came in a pack of 30, and I've got 20-something rooms! I just ordered regular fine and ultra-fine iridescent glitter, along with shredded iridescent glitter and tiny-iridescent stars :) Put 'em together and what do you got? Bibbity Bobbity Boo! (Whoops, wrong movie!) So the plan is to fill the jars with my awesome fairy dust mixture, then affix the ribbon to the jar by putting a "Hershey Kiss" sticker on the bottom saying "Pixie Dust" and tying the ribbon on top of the jar and curling the heck out of it! My prototype is cute, but the finished product will be better!

My favor bags and making progress, but it's going to be a long process... We printed out all of the iron-on transfers, but then we have to iron all of the bags, iron on all of the logos, affix a ribbon border to each bag, paint filigree patterns onto each with stencils, make a faux-flower with a big gem in the center for each... and we have 26 bags so far *sighs* I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with this one! Haha!

I'll have more photos when I have more to show off!

It sounds so neat! can't wait to see what it looks like! Post lots of photos! You're inspiring me to make a thread to now!

Wow, Jillian!! You've been a busy bride!! :goodvibes I cannot get over all the amazing projects you've completed! I wish I was so creatively inclined.

Everything you've done thus far is fantastic. I'm especially excited to see photos of your pixie dust project! That is such a cute idea! When I was a little girl, the Disney Store used to sell pixie dust in these small glass bottles with a cork. I remember thinking how neat it was to have my own personal supply of pixie dust, hehe. I'm sure your guests will love that.

Your welcome bags are going to be so nice! I'm still trying to figure out what to do in mine.

Oh, and I love your cake topper and that you're incorporating the sixpence tradition. Eventhough we're DCL brides and limited to certain package options, I think it's important to make the wedding special and reflect the couple. Kuddos to you for doing that!!

Looking forward to seeing your future projects :)

Thanks for the lovely comments! I'd be happy to give you instructions to any of these projects- if you're interested, just let me know! I've got so many more that aren't even posted on here, I'm starting to become overwhelmed with so many unfinished projects and only 96 days until we set sail! My advice to you is to get invitations out ASAP! Your guests will need as much time as possible to begin planning and saving and booking! The majority of my guests were booked within a few months of sending out my invites with a few joiners later on (we booked in September and sent out invites the same month).

The canvas tote bags I got at Hobby Lobby are marked at $2.99/bag, (http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/100-cotton-canvas-tote-212852/) but they always have sales, so I'd sign up for their e-mails to stay knowledgeable! (Also get JoAnn's and Michaels smart phone apps- they have useful coupons!) I get so many ideas just wandering the aisles of a craft store! I'll have photos up eventually, but since I have so many favor bags I've been procrastinating putting them together! I also find that crafting over time makes it easier than trying to accomplish everything all at once! Once you have a general idea of how many guests you will have, start planning!

I got the logos made from DIS-igners right here on DIS! I visited the Cruise Magnet and Graphic thread, and made a plea for the DISigners to help me with wedding logos, and two of them helped me out! (users Blueyes87 and milliepie) They were very receptive to my ideas and how to tweak them to make them perfect! Here's the current link- they're already on Part 7!! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2897587 After I got the logos, I bought "Dark Fabric Transfer" paper and printed them from home, cut them out, and ironed them onto the canvas bags. A word of advice- as soon as you get those tote bags, lay them flat for storage! I've ironed them over and over again, and the center crease still won't come out completely!

Happy Planning! :cutie:

Love reading your pre trip report. We are renewing our vows on the Dream on 3rd September and can't wait.

Hope you have a fab day in September:thumbsup2

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to drop a quick post saying that I PAID FOR MY WEDDING CRUISE!!! Okay, well everything except the $20/guest fee, but that's not due yet! I'm working on finalizing my paperwork to send in and my next big headache will be SEATING CHARTS (dun dun dunnn) While logged in, I checked in (and found that several of my guests were already linked to my reservation by their DCL agent) and I booked my Palo dining! I'm planning on having an ERA rotation and we're not terribly fond of Enchanted Garden, so we're going to the 6:00 dining at Palo on embarkation day, then we'll join our late-seating 8:15 in Enchanted Garden to spend time with our guests.

Just this afternoon I assembled my "first aid" kit, which really just turned into a "travel sized convenience kit" I guess! I bought Mickey/Minnie Band Aids from Target (I think they call them "collectible" lol- they're bandages!!!) There's also some Polysporin, Wet Ones hand wipes, Shout stain fighter wipes, and single-use sunscreen. And it all conveniently fits inside of a small plastic baggie!

Also, I know some of you were interested in my Pixie Dust project! These are a work in progress- I still plan to wrap curling ribbon around them and put a hershey kiss sticker saying "pixie dust" on the bottom. Believe it or not, there's about 7 different types of iridescent glitter in those babies! It was such a fun experience mixing it all up! lol- I really think the different size, textures, and shapes of glitter make them really unique! (I love the baby stars!)

And here's something I stumbled upon (I don't know where or when) but I like the idea of adding luggage tags to my favor bags. I'm probably going to go the cheap-y route and just print these and have them laminated, then punch a hole and tie in some ribbon. Perhaps I'll hot-glue some fabric or felt to the back to make them seem a bit nicer... idk, that's just an idea so far

AND this one's for Ginger :goodvibes My Broken Blue Holland Lop bunny! She gets called Bunny, BunBun, the Baroness Von BunBun, Bunnyfur, Bunderdome, Bunnaroo, and Stormageddeon (dark lord of all)

I hope everyone is having a good week! I took an extra day off today because I feel so beat from work, but at least I feel somewhat accomplished with paying, checking in, booking palo, assembling first aid packets, e-mailing ESCOT for a new bus quote, and e-mailing our new wedding coordinator, Meredith (I like her already- She's replied to my e-mails 3 times today! A bride could get used to this!) Happy reading, and I hope to have more pictures for you soon... Until then, I'm going to go see Brave with my DF this evening! Ciao!

Hi Jillian!!

Fantastic update! :goodvibes I just found you on pinterest! So excited to look through all your pins! I now know what I'll be doing for the next hour  Your boards are so much more organized than mine. I'll definitely have to sort mine out a bit when life isn't so crazy.

First of all, congratulations on paying for your cruise!! That's super exciting, and I know a relief not to have to worry about anymore. I'm still saving in order to pay off ours--it seems like the wedding expenses never end... Yay also for booking Palo! I'm still debating what Timmy and I are going to do in regards to that. I love Palo, but I really want to try Remy's. What do you think? Go for Remy's and just lose the onboard credit, or stick with Palo? Are you booking any excursions and/or spa stuff?

Your welcome bags are going to be AMAZING. You seriously have thought of everything :) I was super excited to see photos of the pixie dust! So cute! I think people will really love that. The luggage tags are a great idea also. Are you delivering the bags to your guests by hand?

And last but certainly not least, I cannot express how excited I was to get not only a shout out in your PJ, but to get to see a photo of your bunny!! She is beyond cute!! :lovestruc I adore the broken blue coloring! It's so pretty! I completely relate with the dark lord of all name, haha. Archie is a very chill bunny and just a big galut. Dolly, however, is sweet for the most part, but definitely has her evil genius moments. You love them despite all that though, I find ;)

Hope you have a great weekend, and looking forward to the next update! :goodvibes

I've never dined at Palo for dinner, only brunch... But can I just say.... EAT AT REMY!!! It's a really spectacular experience, they really wait on you hand and foot! You have your own server and sommelier to help you with all of your decisions (I don't speak or read french!) If you bring a purse, they bring over a little stool to put it on next to you! You get new place settings and silver between courses, and if you need to use the restroom, somebody from remy will escort you to AND from the restroom back to your table! I think it was 5 courses altogether, each of which were spectacular and gorgeously presented. Michael even loved the Langoustine (lobster!) so much that they brought him a second plate of it! And by the time desserts came around, they ALSO brought out displays of many kinds of candies! Of course, we were so full that we just packaged all of the chocolates and caramels and lollipops to take to our room with them... it was a nice reminder of our cruise when we were eating them at home! But beware, it's about a 3-hour experience, so be sure to plan that into your schedule! Our wedding cruise is only 3 nights, so we're just going to take our free Palo (since we've never been) and as I said, we'll go early and join out party later on at Enchanted Garden that evening. But I can guarantee you that on our "honeymoon cruise" (whenever that happens!) that we'll be dining at Remy FOR SURE! I don't have enough good things to say about remy, WORTH EVERY PENNY! Check out my photo-bucket album, I took lots of pictures of Remy before we sailed away, Gorgeous!

But Palo is my only scheduled event on the cruise (other than the wedding, hah!) I don't plan to have any spa treatments, I'll have my nails done right before we leave and I'm bringing a friend/professional hair stylist (the one perming/coloring my hair) along on the cruise with us, which I am entirely grateful for!! I wouldn't mind a facial or massage, but I just don't think I'll have time on a measly 3-night cruise

I know what you mean about never-ending wedding costs though. We now have to pay approx $740 for the cake & champagne and ESCOT quoted us $800 for round trip service from WDW to the Port. Not to mention we need to buy Michael's tux, I also need to get my hair permed and colored right before the cruise, I need to buy makeup and I have to fly to Chicago to have my final fitting and carry my huge dress on the flight home. As you know, time is money, and I've got SO many hours of crafting left to do to complete all of my little projects and it's tourist season, so work has had me SO busy and stressed! Ahhh! Haha, I know I'll get there, but it's going to be a looong summer for me!

In regards to my bunny, she's currently trying to find every way possible to tickle me with her whiskers! My legs, my knees, my feet! Then she goes and runs circles around my feet and sprints in figure eights around the living room! I can tell she's nocturnal, she just sits around in her cage all day, even if we try to let her out! Now that we're tired, she's wired! She's adorable, and crazy! haha!

Thanks for your comments on my favor bags... I feel like I've gone a little overboard with them! I keep thinking of more things to add to them, they've cost me a FORTUNE! haha! I do hope everyone appreciates them! I'm feeling a wee-bit stingy, so I'm going to have friends deliver bags to staterooms instead of paying $2/bag... that's another $40 I could spend... elsewhere! haha

Today I've been mulling over music... I want all Disney songs (I am a Disney bride, after all! :rotfl:) and they just seemed to lack a few good songs on their provided list (It's a small world isn't exactly romantic!) I went to www.musicnotes.com and currently have 4 songs of sheet music in my cart: "(at last) I see the Light" from Tangled, "Rainbow Connection" from Muppets, "Put on Your Sunday Clothes" from Hello Dolly (It's in Wall-E, the first date we went on!) and for our recessional: "Fantasmic! Theme" from... duh, Fantasmic! The site is cool in that it'll let you preview the first sheet of music with a little midi music file, so you can get an idea of what it sounds like! I think with these additions we'll be able to fill the 10-12 songs they ask you to fill! But I do know that I'm probably going to be crying the whole time, especially with songs like "When You Wish Upon a Star" as my processional and "A Whole New World" as our first dance played on a pretty piano!

Happy Planning to you!!

All of your stuff looks awesome! I definitely had the same crafting problem before my wedding. I wanted to make all kinds of things!

I has the same reservations about Disney delivering the bags to the staterooms for me. Strangely, we never got charged for it. I don't know if it was just an oversight or what?

My biggest issue that happened during my cruise was the seating arrangement. My parents got placed at a different table than me and my in-laws and a friend were at my table. Also, 2 couples and their kids got shuffled to a completely different part of the restaurant every night even after we asked them to be put with us. If you want everyone together or near to each other at dinner, I would definitely suggest finding out everyone's table numbers and speaking with the coordinator on board to make sure the tables are close together. It ruined what should have been a great time.

Palo is great and I would recommend it for sure! We had planned to meet our guests after at their dinner, but ours lasted about 2 hours (7-9)!

DH (sounds so weird still to call him that!) and I spent a long time going over songs for the wedding and I can honestly say that I didn't even remember the piano guy was there! My sister didn't even know he was there until she saw the pictures after. Everything was just a blur of wedding (in a good way) that I barely remember hearing music.

I hope to get on here more to read more about your plans! :cheer2:

I have ANOTHER idea for the favor bags, can you believe it? I found small acrylic vials bigger than my pixie dust vials, and they're a perfect size to make epsom bath salts! AHH! I want to do it so bad, lol! I'm trying to price it out to see if it'll be relatively inexpensive... But I love that kind of thing, new soaps and bath salts! We'll see about that...

I know that our tables won't be next to each other each night since the tables are in different places in each restaurant. I only care that our tables are next to each other (and including Table #82! The one right underneath the chandelier in the center) on our Royal Palace night, the night of our wedding. I do hope that they pay mind to our seating chart, though- It would really be a shame if they screwed that up!

When you had your guests favor bags delivered, at what point (and where) did you give them to Disney? I am a wee bit worried about hanging them in the hallway and having things stolen, especially after ALL the effort I've put into them. Oversights/not being charged for something is really great! On our last cruise, they never charged us for 2 passes to the rainforest room in the spa! Sitting on those heated ceramic tile beds while sipping on cucumber water was HEAVEN!

I'm excited for Palo! I booked a 6:00 (their earliest seating) so even if it's 2 hours, then I still have 15 minutes to get to my late dining at 8:15. They can always hurry things along if we ask them to. I was curious about asking whether they can deliver us a souffle down to Enchanted Garden for us the same night... It's a long shot, but I'm still going to ask! Last trip, we went to Remy and made good friends with the Remy hostess, and she arranged for us to come back another night just to have a souffle from Palo! It was so sweet!

I love piano music, and I'm thrilled to be doing only disney songs (Yeah, I'm a nerd like that!) I just hope that my pianist is a good sight-reader because we're including those extra 3 songs of sheet music! I'm sure it'll be great, no matter what!

I made and packaged 10 wedding favor soaps between yesterday and today! *squee* (only 35 more to go!) The pinky-orange Mickeys are "Passionfruit Papaya" and the Greenish-Blue ones are "Energetic Lime" scented! I bought the packaging a while back from Hobby Lobby- the clear bags with white filigree and the iridescent shredded gift bag filler, The starfish tags I got from the Target Dollar Spot. I didn't have nearly enough tags, so today I went to TWO targets to get a few more sets of starfish tags before they sell out for good! I'm really thrilled with the way they came out! I feel like finalizing things like this make the wedding seem more REAL and like it's going to be here REALLY quick! I was so exited that I snapped a few pictures for my readers! Enjoy!

Also at Target, I found these BEDAZZLED hot pink flats to change into after my hot pink heels take their toll on my feet! They're ridiculously pink, and I love them!

...And a day or two later I might have put my bunny in my shoe box. haha, too cute!

Ohhh my gosh, I just want to go on my cruise NOW!!! :rotfl:

Ooh! Bath salts would be nice and I'm sure working at WDW you know where to get them! We stayed at GF and I swear I wanted to take ALL the different salts with me! Do you get a discount there? If your vials are small enough, you can buy in bulk from Grand FL's place and then split up the different smells into the smaller vials.

Our bags were actually large beach bags (my friend uses hers now instead of the diaper bag she was using for extra clothes/toys/etc for her 2 yr old. They call it the Mary Poppins bag because you can fit do much stuff into it! She's expecting a lamp to come out one day..) I gave them all to Laura the on board coordinator as soon as we got onto the boat. They were so big and full that we had 2 large boxes to carry them in and had to have a porter use a luggage cart to get them in the terminal! Since we got to get on 1st (wedding couple advantage!) we headed directly to the service desk on the right of the entrance and told them what they were and to deliver them. I attached printed tags with guest last name and room number to each bag since they were all different and they showed up during/right after dinner the first night. As our porter said while trying to get us all the extras he could (into the terminal before opening, first in line to check-in, first to get on the boat, etc) "they're getting married for crying out loud!" It worked! I was worried about the extra cost too, but we don't drink much and soda is free on board so we would have used part of our on board credit to pay for the delivery. If yours is $40- that's still an extra $60 of credit you should have from the wedding couple $100. Just a thought.

The souffle was A-MA-ZING at Palo! I want more now! We did almost every song as Disney. I used the traditional bridal processiona, our cake cutting was "unforgettable" and our first dance was "all I ask of you." Our recessional was "kiss the girl!" We meant for the bridal party to sing along and get the guests involved, but it didn't happen :(

If you have any other questions (or I didn't answer something) just ask! I'll try to get back and answer what I can! Just pick a stopping date for crafting and stick to it! I stopped when I realized I was getting too close to bankrupting myself. It was hard, but I needed a break from long hours of crafting!

Thanks for the insight on bags and delivery! I may just turn it into their hands and get that worry out of my mind!!

Being as crafty as I am, I would prefer to make my own bath salts corresponding the fragrance oils and colorants I use for my soaps. I do get a discount at Basin (and Basin White @ the Grand) But a 2lb bag of Epsom salts from my soap supplier is only $5, making it less expensive in the end... and as I mentioned, I already have the colorants and fragrance oils, so it would be no problem to make it! Not to mention fun! :flower3:

I don't plan to have any spa treatments, I'll have my nails done right before we leave and I'm bringing a friend/professional hair stylist (the one perming/coloring my hair) along on the cruise with us, which I am entirely grateful for!!

Hi Jillian!!! :goodvibes
Thanks so much for the info regarding Remy. It was AMAZINGLY helpful! If we can get a reservation there, you basically confirmed our decision to try Remy's. Palo is fantastic (and I'd love to do both), but based on your glowing recommendation, I think we're going to go with Remy's. We'll probably try to book it for the Nassau evening, so we'll be able to dine with our guests on the evening of the wedding. How did you find the pirate night dining?

That's so awesome that you have a friend coming along to do your hair!!! I'm kinda nervous about having my hair done on my wedding day by someone who hasn't done my hair before... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be optimistic, and hope that it's a positive experience. I love your hair inspiration photos on pinterest by the way!! Have you decided how you're going to wear it? I'm guessing a half up and half down style?

I love your music selections! :cloud9: Those will be so beautiful on the piano! Which song are you using when? Haha, that's a terribly formed sentence, but hopefully you know what I mean.

Can I just say how impressive your soaps are?! They are so adorable! I also love the idea for the bath salts! Are you going to put them in the bag with the soaps as a little bath kit?

The pink flats are super cute also! I can imagine they'll be a much welcome reprieve from heels :) I'm the biggest wimp regarding heels. I love the way they look, but I have a very low tolerance for them. Luckily, the beach affords me an excuse to not have to wear them. That reminds me... must start looking into shoes.... The pink color is terrific though, and will be such a great pop of color beneath your gorgeous dress! Hehe, and I loved the bunny in the box!

Hope you had a great fourth!!! Don't let the mouse work you too hard! ;)

:flower3:

Oh, I would definitely make my own then! It sounds wonderful! Also, relaxing when you start bringing those oils out.... mmm, lavender smells sleepy.... ;)

I can't tell you how much Michael and I enjoyed recounting our experience about Remy :) So delish! I can't tell you how the pirate cuisine was, unfortunately... We heard it wasn't as good, that's why we scheduled Remy on pirate night! We wanted to try the regular cuisine in the restaurants every night! Just remember- it's about 3 hours long and they feed you SO much food, so eat a light lunch! We somehow managed to make our way up for the fireworks, but we were all so stuffed!

The person is doing my hair actually had a few classes with my brother in high school, and my mom (and I, on occasion) have been going to her for her hair & coloring services for YEARS! I'm thrilled she's coming along, I'm even more thrilled that she's a Disney person! I am planning on doing a curly half-up half-down hair style. I'm going to get a perm a few weeks before because my hair does NOT hold a curl, especially in humidity! I'm sure your hair will look gorgeous no matter who does it! I've loved all of the hair photos I've seen from all of the other DCL brides!

I haven't finalized my 'playlist' yet, but I think I've solidified a few, my flowergirls/bridesmaid song is going to be "A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes," My processional will be "A Whole New World," Cake Cutting with "When you Wish upon a Star," our First Dance as "At Last I See the Light," and our Recessional as... Fantasmic!!!! haha Now I just have to figure out where to put the other songs!

Go to DSW.com!!! They always have sales and clearance items, I bought two pairs of special occasion heels and a pair of flip flops for $100! If you sign up for their free rewards program, you get free shipping, too! You should definitely start shopping now with the spring and summer shoes on the market- late summertime they'll start bringing out all of the fall stuff- not ideal for a beach wedding in the Bahamas! I also have the same problem with heels- they're GORGEOUS but I'm not used to wearing them, so my tolerance is pretty low too! On my last cruise I wore 3 different pairs of pumps and I thought I was going to die! I've switched to sandals ONLY for the cruise- ones that strap onto my feet completely!

Yes, I may have added that bunny picture for you :rotfl2: and lucky me, I don't work wednesdays, so I was off on the 4th of July! I stayed inside and read a book during the thunderstorms, then DF and I went on a 'date' for some chicken wings! Who needs fireworks in CROWDED theme parks when you could see fireworks any (and every!) night! Haha, the 'curse' of living in Orlando!

OOOH, and thanks for the compliments on my soaps! I think the packaging turned out GREAT- Way better than I'd anticipated! I ordered everything I need for my bath salts project! (I haven't told DF about that yet, he'll tell me that I still have UNFINISHED projects and that we already have so much in our guest bags!) But I'm ecstatic to give that a try- if you add citric acid and baking soda to them, you get fizzy bath salts *squee* It's going to be so much fun!

I was ordering more soap base from my soap supplier, and wouldn't you know it- everything I need for my bath salts project fell into my shopping cart! What a strange phenomenon! (Also a few extra colorants and fragrance oils... oops) I also ordered 50- 2 oz clear jars with white lids to package them in, more than I need (I'd originally only planned to do 1 per stateroom, but it was cheaper to buy 50 jars!) Wish me luck, pictures to follow! Now the hardest part- waiting a week for delivery! The company I buy from is in Washington state, and I'm in Florida, delivery always takes so long and I can get very impatient waiting for my goodies!
