Jilian & BT's VR 3/24/12 Crescent Terr/Il Mulino - Last of the Randy Chapman pics up!

I need to have a good catch up of your pj, I remember reading when you started but I get so behind on here as there are so many :)

I love your centrepieces, are Il Mulino ok with the candles? We're also having our reception there and I'm just trying to figure out what to do or if I should bother with centrepieces ATM. Strange question, do you know if they use table clothes?

Your budget looks great, and seems like you really are getting quite a lot for your money :thumbsup2

WOW! I just finished reading your whole story (19 pages of posts!) You are such an inspirational person. I loved all your DIY designs (the fans, the banner, the table numbers, etc...). I feel like i can relate to you in a lil way. I am doing my vow-renewal at Disneyland in Sep & I have 2 boys. My DS1 was born with a bilateral cleft lip & unilateral cleft palate so we have also been to the hospital numerous times for surgeries and stuff. I love your pin ceremony idea & i think i will be adding that 2 our ceremony as well (my boys are also into the pin trading especially since we were just at DL in December & they loved collecting the pins). Anyhow, thanks again for the wonderful ideas & I am very excited for you & your family on your special day coming up really soon! :woohoo::yay::dance3:

Faith, Jackie, 2dog, tric, virtuous, noordinary: Thanks so much for your kind words! You are all so sweet, I love the little community we have here at the Dis, I'm welling up just reading your posts. I am super excited; just giddy with excitement. I can't believe we're just over a month away.

Sarah, yes, Il Mulino said they are ok with centerpieces with water and lit candles. I made sure to specifically ask. Il Mulino uses candles all over the place too, there was another bride here who had her reception there recently and Il Mulino added their own candles to her cake table.

PrincessMelo, welcome and thanks for the kind words. God bless your little boy for having to endure multiple surgeries! How is he doing now?

I've been trying to tie up all of my loose ends here and did 2 more DIY projects. One was for a basket to hold the rose petals for our staged exit. I was going to do some cute doylie cones or copy the beautiful bags Joanne did but then I realized that I only had 30 mins from the time floral was delivered until Randy arrived for pictures to stuff the rose petals into wherever they were going. A box sounded like a really good idea after that realization. So here it is:

And tonight I added my pretty rhinestones to my robe that I'll wear when I'm having my hair & makeup done. Here is it...

As an added bonus I now have Princess Minnie burnt into my kitchen table! Oops! Learn from me and don't do iron-ons on top of your wooden kitchen table.

If you put a bunch of bath towels down, you can probably avoid the burn if you need to do more ironing. Love your basket. What a great idea!

The box looks great and seems like a good choice!

And, I love the robe! So pretty and princess-y!!

BAHAHA- I love that Princess Minie will now be eating dinner with y'all nightly! ;)

These are great ideas! I can't believe you still have energy for MORE projects! You are a wizard

I don't think it is a proper Disney VR/Wedding without Minnie permanently tattood onto something :lmao:

Jilian, I love the basket and the robe! They're both just lovely! I think it's so nice to have all those little special touches. :goodvibes

I'm having so much fun with the DIY stuff I don't know what I'll do with myself when the VR is over. Maybe I can start planning a Minnie mouse 3rd b-day for dd or something.

The instructions said not to do the rhinestone transfer on an ironing board or towels, I should have known better though. Next time I'll take it outside and use the pavement for a hard surface. At least we have a daily reminder of our VR now :)

Hi sweetie
I love the box and the robe!! I agree that you wouldn't have enough time to stuff bags or cones once the floral arrived!!! As you know, I cheated and used freeze dried rose petals and little paper hearts, so I had plenty of time to stuff the bags!! I think the box is an excellent idea!!
The robe will look super cute in the 'getting ready' photos. So, you now have a very 'Disneyfied' kitchen table eh? Too funny!!!

LOL @ Disneyfied kitchen table. And it was free! Anyone else on the market for a disneyfied table? Have iron, will travel :)

I heard back from Randy today. We CAN have a photo shoot at the Grand Floridian! I could just die of excitement!!!! As long as we're done by 3:30 we have the OK from DFTW. Yippee!!! It has been the worst week ever because DS2 was officially diagnosed with asthma and the meds affect his heart in a bad way and I've just been a disaster over it and trying to figure out how to handle it all so this has given me a little bit of happiness just when I needed it.

Jillian,

I am so sorry about your son. Hopefully, they can figure out a way to treat him without hurting his heart in the process.:hug:

The new DIY look great! You must be getting so excited! :dance3:

Glad you can have photos done at GF. Awesome news! Can't wait to see them.

Thanks :) His wonderful cardiologist squeezed us in for next week so we can chat and come up with a plan. I'm feeling quite a bit better about it now.

I'm so glad Il Mulino are ok with the water and lit candle centre pieces, opens up a few more ideas for me now.

The rose petal box looks great and such a fab idea :thumbsup2 love the robe, bet the new table actually looks good ;) anytime you're in the UK I will book your services for one lol

I'm glad you can get those gorgeous Grand Floridian pictures, but how comes you had to get permission? I thought the resorts were 'free for all' it's crappy if they are now making non DFTW brides get permission to have photos there  I was really hoping to get some around GF and Poly beach myself.

Sorry to hear your sons asthma meds are causing trouble with his heart.

Well you don't technically have to get permission. But there have been a few cases of random brides being questioned in the GF about whether or not they are DFTW brides. I think the GF is such a popular wedding pic location that they want to be sure they give preference to DFTW brides. I've hired Randy and he's very respectful of DFTW so he contacted them to be sure there will be no other DFTW brides there at that time and he was told there won't be any and we're free to shoot until 3:30. I don't blame him, he doesn't want to burn any bridges with DFTW or make them mad. I feel better knowing that we're not stepping on any other brides toes too. Personally, I think it would be cool to see another bride but I know not all brides get warm and fuzzy about seeing other brides on their wedding day.

I talked to Randy yesterday about pictures at Poly and he didn't mention anything about asking permission. I'm not sure if that is because I also have Ohana reservations for the reception or it is just because you are looking to do it at GF.

Good luck with the doctor next week.

I don't think permission is needed at the Poly because it isn't as busy. What he initially said to me is that he had to check with DFTW to make sure there wasn't another bride there at that time, if there was we could shoot at the Poly or Boardwalk. He didn't say anything about having to ask permission for Poly or Boardwalk. I think it is because GF is actually used as a venue for brides, so there are lots of brides there. Isn't commander's terrace in the GF? And there are all of the ballrooms, etc and the wedding pavillion is right there. That makes it a bit unique and busy for brides.

We had pictures at the GF (as you know) and ad far as I am aware, Randy didn't ask permission. We did, however, have our reception meal booked at Citrico's, so I guess that helped. There was a DFTW bride using the staircase whan we first got there, so we just did the outside/beach photos first and waited until she had gone before doing the inside shots!! At the Boardwalk, we stuck to the ADH end, as there was an imminent wedding at SBP. Randy knew this, so maybe, for that location, he had made some enquiries. I think it helps if you are with Randy. He is so well known at WDW, and I think the CMs probably know that he would never step out of line or disrupt a DFTW bride. I think the problems come in if the CMs do not recognize the photographer with a couple, and so do not have the re-assurance of knowing that they will keep a respectful distance from other brides. Even at the Poly (in the lagoon, and jumping in the pool in a wedding dress), nobody questioned us and all the CMs greeted Randy warmly!!!

Jilian sweetie - Sorry to hear about little one's health issues!!! Glad he is back on a more even keel now!!
