Hi, I'm just in the very begining stages of planning but I thought this would be a great place to use as a sounding board for ideas. Mesh and I will be doing a V.R. for our 10 year anniversary. We have 3 kids: 6 yo DS, 4 yo DD and 16 month old DD. We wanted to do something special for them to celebrate us as a family. We're also bringing our extended family along so there will be a total of 17 of us. We were going to do a Disney themed V.R. involving costumes. I'm not sure if that's allowed because I haven't seen anyone else do that in any of the wedding or V.R. photos. The kids are going to wear Jack Sparrow, Cinderella and Tinkerbell costumes as our attendants. I was going to wear a yellow wedding dress (ala Belle) and Mesh is going to wear a white Indian outfit with turban (ala Alladin). Is that against any rules?
The only thing I've done so far is join DVC. I'm going to book a Old Key West Grand Villa and a two bedroom suite for all of us to stay at. Oh I did have a question regarding that. Our location can be booked 1 year in advance (so June 4, 2007), but our accomodations can't be booked until 11 months in advance (so July 6, 2007). Will Disney weddings still hold the day if you are a DVC member since there are those rules about when you can make a reservation?
I really like SeaBreeze Point, I think it's so pretty near the water. I've heard that it's on a main walkway though (I went to Disney World 25 years ago, so I don't understand the layout at all). Did anyone find it too busy a location- privacy wise?
We're under three Disney umbrellas: DVC, DFTW, and Grand Gatherings. We're getting Disney Dining Plan for all of our guests, and using the TS credits to do some character meals and GG stuff. We were going to pay out of pocket for the post-V.R. dinner. I'm kind of having a hard time figuring out where would be the best place for that. We'd like a private room, since 17 in the middle of a restaurant is kind of difficult. But the places that have small private rooms like Jiko are minimum $2500! The next cheapest seems to be Victoria and Alberts with a $1560 minimum. Considering how much we're spending (and I just read that there is a major price hike for 2008 weddings!), I'd like to not have to spend unneccessarily for our needs.
I'm a research-lovin' gal, because I think organization is the key to an easy-going experience. Any and all input provided would be much appreciated.
