Has anyone gotten into Jiko without an ADR? I haven't even called to see if there are any available because I don't know if we will be able to eat there or not. I'd like to but I just don't know if we'll be able to, therefore haven't bothered calling to even look into ADRs.

Hi,

You may or may not get in without an ADR, no one here can tell you for sure. But why not make one anyway? ADRs are free and you can always cancel it if your plans change.

Even if the dining room is full, you can get the full menu served in Jiko bar.

We have walked in many times, so just go for it if you have time.

We were at Jiko at 5pm in Oct, ressie at 5:30, and the host was telling a few people that they could get in when they opened at 5:30....they were smaller parties of 2 and 3 though

Last May I had an ADR for Jikos for around 7:30pm, but was tired and decided I wanted to have an early meal. I showed up, just as they opened and they got me right in. However, I also had an ADR there the year before and again tried to showup early and was told they were booked for the entire night. So it just depends.

I think it depends on when you go. You are going in Sept? If its during free dining and you want to eat there, you should make a reservation.

I am not sure how busy this time is but if its spring break again you should book an ADR.

I am a big planner and never go without ADRs to places that we definitely want to eat. We have been and been able to call 407-wdw-dine and get an ADR that day but it is rarely to a place we would pick or a popular place- one the GF Cafe which was very good I have to say. Once when staying at the Poly, our kids had CS in the room and DH and I were able to call downstairs and get into Kona around 9p - DH wanted to eat at Ohanas again but they couldn't fit us in. We had a wonderful meal just the two of us at Kona. If you want to eat there, make an ADR.
