Jiko Wine Tasting

Anyone been to the wine tastings held at Jiko on Wednesdays at 3:00? Any reviews?

about how long does it last? Hoping for time to make stop at the nomad lounge after the tasting and before a 6:45 ADR at Tiffin's.

Later ADR might not work - AK hours in Late September still have a 7:30 park close the last time I looked.

We did it last year and really enjoyed it. All of the cheeses are American but all of the wines are South African. There were four pairings as I recall. Some of the pairings had a cheese and a wine both of which were nice but when paired were amazing. It's about an hour. They give you some history of the wine industry in South Africa and then go through each pairing describing both the cheese and wine. It doesn't fit our schedule this time but I'd be happy to do it again and I'd also guess that it's probably different every year depending on what they have in stock. The glasses were reasonably substantial so it's a good value IMO if you drink them all (we did!). I think that there was also some nuts and other items that they paired with the wine as well and the host was very informative and interesting.

Great! It sounds perfect. I have been wanting to try it for the past few years but this is the first time it works for our schedule.
