I just completed a detailed Jiko survey emailed to me by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Research and am curious if others received the same.
The focus was exclusively upon Jiko and questions ranged from "Why did you choose to dine here?" to demographic info re my age, gender, country, number of times I have visited Jiko & WDW Parks. In particular, the following questions were of interest:
I did use the Visit Orlando Magical Dining promotion for Jiko and it was an absolutely fantastic value. I was served a full-size appetizer, entree and dessert for fixed price of $35 plus tip. Promo ran from Aug 25-Oct.1. An incredible deal and wonderful way to experience Jiko. However, the restaurant was nearly empty when I dined. Granted I was seated early at opening, but there were at most 5 other people in Jiko at the time. In contrast, Boma, across the hall, was doing a booming business with crowds lined up to the foot of the stairs.
My waiter told me that Jiko was a very last minute addition to the promotion.
I suspect I'm not alone in believing that Jiko is struggling. It would be an absolute shame to lose such an incredible restaurant.
If you receive this survey, I would encourage you to take the time to complete it. Realistically, who really knows if the information can help Jiko re-tool. What we do know is that WDW is evaluating promotions and price points. I completed it in the hope that my information may help Jiko, its staff and incredible kitchen to stay open and continue to provide an extraordinary dining experience.

- What would encourage you to return to Jiko? Multiple choice answers included 10%-40% off menu, prixe-fixe meal for $35, free appetizer and valet parking and 2 dine for the price of 1 after 8pm; and
- At least 2-3 target questions about the Visit Orlando Magical Dining Month promotion including how did you hear about this promotion (website, social media, email, cast member, waiter, etc) and did you use this promotion.
