First some background - We made our annual trip to WDW from Dec. 8-20. For the most part we split meals for dinner on this trip. Since my wife lost 95 lbs on Weight Watchers 4 years ago we split most of our meals so we can have starters and desserts.

We arrived at Jiko at 7:45 for our PS and were seated within 10 minutes. We started with the Roasted Tomato and Spinach Flatbread and it was as good as always. We have never had a bad flatbread here yet. We next each had the Fresh Squash soup and it was very good, it had sunflower seeds in it and it was very good.

For our entree we had the Wood- Grilled Pork Tenderloin w/ sweet potato dumplings and mushroom ragout. This was by far the best meal we had on our trip. The Pork was so tender you could cut it with your fork.

For dessert we had the Apple Spring Roll and it was out of this world. The combinations of Granny Smith Apples, Vanilla Bean Sauce and Passion Fruit ice creme were great.

This is the 4th trip that we have made it back to Jiko's and we have never been disapointed. To round off our perfect evening we hoped on a bus to Downtown Disney to transfer to a POFQ bus or boat. When we got underway our bus driver asked us which resort we were staying at since many couples come over to AKL to simply have dinner at Jiko's or Boma. We told him we were staying at POFQ and he proceded to drop us off at our resort right on the way to DD. What a perfect way to end our day. The Disney magic was in full force with this cast member. Next up our review of Spoodles.

My friend has been trying to convince me to go there for some time now. I think we may try it on our upcoming trip in January 05.

I've had PS's for Jiko on two different trips that we had to skip. I've got another for Feb 2nd after Cirque and hope to get there this time. Thanks for the review!

Great review. That dessert sounds like quite a combination.

Good for your bus driver!

Yeah...Jiko is AWESOME!

And congrats to your wife for that incredible weight loss! And congrats to YOU for helping her keep it off! That sharing idea is very smart!

We just got back from WDW, and we enjoyed a family favorite, Jiko, on our last evening. Funny, we were planning to eat at Boma, but they would not seat anyone without a PS (even though at 7pm there were tons of tables available and the next PS was at 8:40pm??????). So....we ended up at Jiko, and we are glad we did. It had been a year or so since we dined here, and it was as perfect as we remembered. Hubby started with his favorite South African Reisling. We each had a flatbread (kalamata olive-him and barbecued chicken-me) and I would have been perfectly satisfied if I had stopped there. Instead, we each had an entree. He had the filet and I went with the pork tenderloin. Both were perfect, and hubby helped me finish mine off! All in all, Jiko is just a great place to dine and a good excuse to get over to AKL if you aren't staying there!
