So I had everything planned and then the airlines changed our flights...that was just the excuse I needed to come in a day earlier! I just got off the phone and the most wonderful CM was able to add a day on the front of my Free Dining pkg and not lose it-Hooray :yay: So now I need a nice place to go for our first night. I'm thinking Jiko OR Yachtsman OR maybe O'Hana? We are staying at the Poly and getting in at 2PM so I'm not really trying to plan anything else for that evening-just a nice dinner.

I know everyone has different opinions of the restaurants, but I just really can't make up my mind without help!

Thanks so much,
Kim

Hmm. I've eaten at all 3.

I really enjoyed Yachtsman, but Jiko was a step above IMO. I think it was the atmosphere that did it for me, and the more unique menu. Being at the AKL doesn't hurt much, either!

That said, I typically stick close to the hotel on my first day instead of wearing myself out riding all over. If you don't have a car, and will have to do the travel back and forth between another resort when you arrive, I'd be tempted to do 'Ohana or Kona, or even a spot at another monorail resort (CA Grill, Citrcos, Narcoosees) instead of riding the bus.

It's a different experience.

I don't think you'll wear yourself out going to and from. A monorail ride to MK or the TTC and a bus to AKL isn't that bad.

Thanks-that is just what I was looking for. I was leaning towards Jiko. We will actually have a car, so we can drive. I hadn't thought about the animals, but I am sure my mom and dad will love them!

Just to note - you can't get a bus at TTC to AKL. There are no resort buses at TTC.

What you could do there is get a bus to AK and then transfer to the AKL bus.

Or, from the Polynesian itself take the bus to AK and transfer to the AKL bus. You don't even have to ride the monorail to TTC if you want for some reason to catch the AK bus there, you can walk there from the Polynesian.

In that case, def Jiko.
